How Much Is It To Clean A Dodge 2500 6.7 Cummins Turbo

2002 dodge cummins low power and 11-13 MPG?

first of all scan for codes. Reset them if you have any. A P0237 and similar will detune your truck into a limp mode and you lose a dyno verified (on my truck) a good 65hp. What is your lift pump psi at full throttle? If it drops below 5 you need a new pump. Now being that you have a VP-44 truck, the IP's are very sensitive to any contamination. Replace your fuel filter, clean your MAP and IAT sensors with throttle body cleaner. If it still runs low on power then i would come to the conclusion it is time for a new injector pump (IP).

Now also you need to realize these trucks in stock form were not quick at all and for a stock truck they are no speed demons when towing a trailer loaded.

Bogging down & now dead Dodge 2500 2004 5.9 Cummins diesel?

your loosing fuel pressure is why its bogging down on you ,have a shop run a pressure check on the fuel system, that sounds like its got a bad lift pump going bad on it,and the only way to find out for sure is to run a pressure check on it, guess work will wind up costing you way to much money on that truck, good luck.

What is the gear ratio for a 2004 dodge ram 2500 cummins turbo diesel?

3.55 if it is automatic; 3.73 or 4.10 if it's standard. should be on the door post on drivers side or a small tag on the rear "pumkin"

OppS!!!, they were right they dumped the 3.55 at 2004, i thought it was 2005 that they got rid of it.

Engine problems 2004 dodge ram 2500 5.9L cummins turbo diesel?

my dad has a 2004 dodge ram 2500 with the 5.9L cummins turbo diesel on Friday getting on to the L.I.E. it sputtered a little bit but was fine for a half hour ride, he shut it off for 5 Min's then started and drove to work in Farming dale which was a bout 15 Min's away, driving in Farmingdale the check engine light came on and the engine cut out, he attempted to start it again but it would only crank so we let it to sit nearby his work, came back a half hour later drained the fuel water separator and cranked more to get it started, after sitting for about 8 hours we took out the fuel filter sprayed it with ether and cleaned it out worked for the trip back out east and replaced the filter on the way. then on Sunday we took it out thinking everything was fine but it again cut out about 4 more times on a 20 mile round trip the last time we couldn't get it started for about a half hour. the check engine light remains on and still has trouble with cutting out and getting it started again. what can cause this? is it a computer problem?

I have a 1995 dodge 2500 diesel auto 4x4 I have been having problems with transmission shifting up&dwn need fx

Computer is wrong....the 48RE transmission used in the 1995 cummins turbo diesels was not electronically controlled. I would start by making sure the TV (some people still call it "kickdown," even though it does more than that) cable is in proper adjustment. Here is an explanation on how to adjust the TV cable: http://jcj.net/dodgeram/trans_adjustment.htm

However keep in mind that since your truck is a diesel the TV cable will actually be located on the fuel injection pump accelerator instead of on the throttle body.

If that doesn't fix it I would next check your fluid and make sure that it looks clean and if it doesnt then drain and refill it by dropping the pan.

If you still can't determine the problem then I would head over to Dodgetrucks.org and visit the APS Precision section or Diesel section and post your problem for a quick response and more troubleshooting help from professionals.

Are the cummins turbo diesel a high maintenance motor?

dude, its an in line 6 engine it means 30% less moving parts then a average V8 engine

this means less frequent maintenance, and more reliable in fact so reliable that the cummins 12V was nicknamed the million mile motor... blows your mind eh?

keep fresh oil and always keep the air filter clean, get a fuel flush every 100,000k and then you ll have yourself a million mile motor. one downfall is dodge has the worst tranny out there and if you drive it hard it will go and as far as mods go

you can spend around 4 grand and make it a easy thousand HP engine capable of 10 secs on the track no joke man

What is typical MPG 98-02 2500 24V Cummins Turbo Diesel?

Alot of good answers Thanks for them all. My best friends dad has this truck and has suffered a heart attack leaving left-side paralized (very unfortunate) but $8800 is payoff and to keep finicials in order for his sake,I offered to take over payments. Has anyone heard anything good from Veggie-Oil alternatives?Worth it to help cut some costs?

What will happen if your truck’s turbo-charger stops working? Will it work after turbo failure?

Turbo failure means the bearing went bad and caused a lot of play in the impeller shaft. That play will cause the impeller and even exducer wheel to contact the side of the housing and when that happens metal hits metal and little pieces get sucked into the intercooler piping and blown down the exhaust. That’s not the worst thing though. When the bearing fails, little bits of metal from that drain down the oil return tube and into the oil pan, where they can be sucked up by the oil pump and circulated throughout the rest of the engine. Not good. Oh and when the bearing fails, it will typically cause a major internal oil leak in the turbo, and that will dump a ton of oil out your exhaust, so you could run your engine dry of oil after some time.
