How long until the great lakes run dry?
I heard that the world is running out of usable water and that those of us in America haven't seen the effects because we're blessed by the great lakes. If this is true, how long until the usable water in the great lakes (I'm assuming this is America's main supply of freshwater) runs dry? If or when it does run out, what will we use for freshwater? Is it possible for us to run out of drinkable water?

It's a better alternative for them than screaming helplessly to the sky. Not nearly as fun to watch, however.

Google Earth photographs of China depict city after city of vast complexes consisting of office skyscrapers, government buildings, apartment buildings, residential towers and homes, all connected by networks of empty roads – with some of the cities located in China’s truly most inhospitable locations.
