How Much Money Did You Receive For Your High School Graduation

What did you do after high school graduation?

I'm graduating in 18 days, and I have no idea what I'm going to do. Maybe college, but definitely not right away.
What did you do, or are going to do?

How much money should you give for middle school graduation?

Monetary value should correspond to your relationship to the child.

$20-30- Child of distant friend/relative, infrequent contact.
$30-40- Child of close friend/relative
$50-60- Like your own blood

If you're still unsure, just get them a set of reference books like a dictionary/thesaurus from a bookstore.

Did you cry on your high school graduation?

No I didn't cry, but congratulations on your graduation. You did it tho you had distractions and problems. You have proven that you can stick with it, you will go far.

Why should I go to my high school graduation ceremony if I don’t see it as a big accomplishment?

One day, could be soon, could be many many moons from now, you're going to be in a position when you are asked about graduation. This could be in a one on one setting, could be in a group setting, could be by your kids, regardless of who you'll feel an emotional void if you need to answer by saying you didn't attend. This comes from personal experience. For reasons omnipresent at the time of my HS graduation I didn't attend. I've subsequently placed in a position as described above. Answering has always been difficult, more difficult the closer my age was to the graduation. Its gotten easier over the last 30 years, but not much.I don't care what your circumstance s are unless you will be in immediate physical harm go. Go to every graduation anything, practice, dances, parties (have a beer for me) and most importantly your graduation. One more thing. Take pictures, lots of them, and then come back here to Quora and post some in this question and then write a question to encourage other new grads to share their stories.I'm envisioning a 1000+ upvote question here. If I had grad pictures I'd beat you to it, wait I don't, so go graduate and share it with us.

What is the best (reasonable) high school graduation gift you can think of?

It depends on how you define the word “reasonable.”Congratulations cards containing cash are always appropriate gifts for recent high school graduates. However - this gift idea is not very imaginative or memorable, and the money will soon be gone.A better gift idea is some kind of durable gift that the graduate can use every day: A pair of noise-reducing headphones (great for studying), a tool box containing a good set of household/automotive tools, a brass desk lamp (you can even have it engraved), an MP3 player and/or a voucher for iTunes music, video games, a new cell phone, a new laptop computer for college/work, etc.If your budget allows - many high school grads would agree that a car is at the top of the list of great gifts.

What should I do in the morning of my high school graduation?

What I did on the morning of my high school graduation:Woke up.Showered.Cleaned up the kitchen.Cleaned up my room.Went to the library. Dropped off the 7th book in the Wheel of Time series. Picked up the 8th book in the Wheel of Time series that I had on hold.Put some air in my tires at QuikTrip, because they have free air.Got some gas at QuikTrip, because I was there for air anyway, and their gas prices are often a little bit cheaper than anyone else.Went into my high school.Sat down and filled in some bubbles on my AP bubble sheet.Took part of the AP Statistics multiple choice test.I say part on that last bullet, because at some point while taking the multiple choice portion of the exam, twelve o’clock rolled by and it was no longer morning.Obviously, it doesn’t really matter what you do in the morning of your graduation. What does matter is what you don’t do.Don’t:Get arrested.Drink alcohol.Try to buy alcohol.Same thing with any illegal drugs.Mug someone on the street.I think you get the idea.

Did you cry at your high school graduation?

nah... i was yawning.

What did you do after graduating from high school?

A2A I'm still in high school, but I think I can still give good advice. 1. Please seriously consider college. There are plenty of scholarships if you have need. The wage gap between high school and college graduates is ridiculous high. A diploma makes you a ton more money which equals a more secure life.If you don't quite know what you want to do you might think about taking a gap year. Warning! If you take a gap year apply to college now and get accepted then tell the college you would like to take a gap year. Waiting till the next admissions round causes issues. During this gap year get a job. Try and go to work at a higher level than just McDonald's. Since you're free you can take on a full time job. So, you could be a secretary at a law firm, you could be a research assistant, you could work at the newspaper. What I'm saying here is that you should try and get a job where you can learn something!!! 2. Get a job. Follow my advice above and get a job where you will learn something. 3. Go to community college and take classes.4. Apply to travel abroad on a mission tripFinal advice: take control of your life. Don't wait for something to fall in your lap, go what you want. Best of luck.

How much money did you get at your graduation party?

100

Why did you not attend your high school graduation?

I graduated high school a semester early. I was done with all my requirements. I was ready to be done with high school feeling like, since I had job making decent money, my concerns no longer matched my high school peers. I was working at a university doing what would become my career. The petty concerns of high schoolers were beneath me. Why are we all in such a hurry to grow up? To this day I do regret not attending my high school graduation because I would have walked at the Rose Bowl having graduated from Pasadena High School (‘adena High, Hey!). Now that would have been something! I took the long route to getting my bachelor’s degree, first attending Pasadena City College (aka the University of Colorado Boulevard), then UCLA, then finishing up at USC over the course of 11 years by paying for it all myself, taking time off when I was broke, and changing majors a couple of times. But I finally finished and graduated from USC with full pomp and circumstance. Beautiful campus, famous speaker (Peter Ueberroth—he ran the 1984 Summer Olympics in L.A. and turned a profit and scared us all off the roads.) My family came, they bought me presents and took me out to dinner. My friends celebrated me. I said “If I had known it would be so much fun, I would have done it much sooner!”. My motto now—don’t miss out on something fun because you are too cool for school, too hip, or think its too touristy (that’s right go to a school dance, take the gondola ride, climb the Eiffel Tower, pose in front of the leaning tower of Pisa!) Embrace life, make memories, have fun!
