Can a Muslim marry a Hindu?
Having born from a Muslim woman and Hindu man, I feel fit to answer this question.Back in 1985 my parents met each other in college and fell in love.They tried convincing their families for marriage but it was very difficult.My father's parents later agreed for the marriage only if my mother did not wear a Burqa and gave up on non-veg food. She did not have to convert just not show that she was a Muslim by wearing a Burqa.My mother's family still did not accept my parents. They insisted that my father convert to Islam as marriage between believer and non believer is not possible in Islam. My father was hesitant to convert. My mother broke all connections with her family and secretly married my father.I was born within a year of marriage. My mother used to practice Islam as well as do Pooja in our house Mandir (Lighting Diya, aggravate, etc.)Everything was going well. When I was 5 years old, I remember the horror that occurred. My mother's brother came to our home along with some men and beat my parents to near death. It was because of the neighbours that they left immediately after the neighbours came to help.My parents were rushed to hospital. They beat my parents so badly that my mother was declared dead on arrival and my father sustained major injuries.My father still regrets falling in love with a muslim and marrying her. He thinks had he not married her, both of them would be living happily. After 2 years of this incidence, my father married a widow woman from his community and she tries her best to fulfil the gap of my mother but I still miss my real mother. Whatever hatred I have for Islam today is only because of the incidence which occurred in my childhood which took away my mother. How can a brother kill his own sister in the name of honour killing? Does Islam really give such shitty ideas to its followers?The Bottomline is Hindu and Muslim should not get married. Their lives can be at risk.

u seem to be very wise woman. i know very good about muslim culture and families. I know a lot of issues about marriage.U are very wise not to choose someone back from ur country because yes indeed they really want passport. u r also considerably young for marriage.But there are many examples of early marriages that was also succesfull. so its wrong to believe that its too early cause there is not one right thing in this world. right things can refer from people to people.however u do not wanna settle down before u finish the school and have a job.thats very wise.especially in muslim cultures woman must be very clever to have their degrees and jobs in case of a divorce or something that u can stand up yourself.im sure u know what i mean. now about dua.i dont know any dua from quran.but you can always speak to God through your own words and thats your dua.i know muslims do that for sure.not particular dua, but their own words. i also think to convince ur family is a very good idea.because having dua and making nothing is against the belief as well.u must always stand for the good, thats relegion.its not enough to just let everything to a dua or to God.but u probably know that too. read a lot of articles on issues with families.there are several ways to talk through problems with families and convince them, sometimes we just do not know the way because we are also nervous. i honestly advice you to read articles on how to communicate with difficult parents, or people..best way of communication..articles like that.it really helps. and do not kill yourself.God will decide to take ur life as he gave it in muslim religion. if something happened, it can seem like hell, but it happened for something good for you.only ull see it later.. good luck. and dont forget, parents wish the best for the children mostly, mothers dont wanna hurt you, they wanna do what they believe its good.if u can just reason with them that its better your way of thinking...she will finally understand.

I know a friend who married someone but he still love the girlfriend from his college days. He's in his 40s now with kids in their teens married for years. Yet in his heart he never let that flower die he planted in his college days.May be he didn't realized he had told me his love story more than couple times. he talked about her and I never told him that I know that story cause he seem to be reliving the memories of his most cherished past.He proposed his college girlfriend who hesitated to give him answer right away as she needed time to settle with her new job he took that for a no. He then asked his parents to find him a suitor which they did and got ready for engagement when he came home from working in a cruise ship.college girlfriend had no idea about the progress as they were ‘taking time off’ as of her.
