How Much Should I Pay For A 2000 Ford Mustang

How much it would cost to paint a 2000 ford mustang?

Your question is a little to generic to get a proper answer, I will list the reasons.

First, price is cconditionalupon many things including but not limited to:

What prep work is needed to put the car in ready to paint condition, wet sanding, dent pulling, bondo, rust removal.... eetc

What kind of paint do you want, Brand, style, matt, high gloss, super gloss, pearl, epoxy single stage, dual stage, triple stage, how many coats of gloss, UV protection, Anti-Chip protection.

Quality of spray shop, pay cheap get cheap. Maaco offer a free quote service. You would be better off calling them for a quote wwhichthey can give you online if you email detailed pics of the vehicle. There are to many factors to count but be sure you will spend no less than 1,200 and no more than, well the Sky's the limit. Hope this helps a bit

Should I keep my 2000 Ford Mustang?

I just bought a 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8L with pretty high mileage? It has 135,000 miles on it. So far the car has been great. I know one of the main owners and he has kept up maintenance on it. The only downfall is the entire rear end has to be replaced. But I found a guy to do that for $500. And I paid way under blue book for the car. The car doesn't look bad at all. Just one dent on the driver side. The only worry is the mileage and if there are any common problems at this amount of miles. Thanks.

How Much would it cost to fill up a 2000 Ford Mustang?

Fuel tank capacity is 15.8 gallons. Just multiply that by whatever you're currently paying for fuel. At $3.50 a gallon it would $55.30. However in the real world you're never completely out of fuel when refuel, most of the time you'll have at least gallon left. So the cost to fill up would be closer to $50 assuming $3.50 a gallon fuel.

However, I must ask, if you own this car then how can you *not* know how much it costs to fill up?

Also the Dodge Stealth went out of production in 1996. Your brother doesn't have 1999 Dodge Stealth.

Edit: I'm not trying to be an *** here, I appoligize if I came off as condecending, but it will pay off in the long run if you learn all you can about your car. Read the owner's manual, it will tell you all the basic info about your car without being overly technical. If you don't have a hard copy, then you can download a copy from ford's website. The more you know about your car the better chance you have of not being taken advantage of by a dishonest mechanic/service writer, also learning to do basic maintence yourself (oil change, wiper blades, air filter, etc,) can save you you money. For example you can pay Jiffy Lube $70 for a synthetic oil change, or you can do it yourself for half that amount. If you can do your own brake jobs, you can save literally hundrerds.

Is a Ford Mustang a good car for a 16 year old?

A lot depends on the 16 year old.  ARe you going to drive it like a dumbshit?  Get something that will cost less and be going slower when you run into something in it (and, statistically, you probably will). The Fourth gen mustang is kind of a crapshoot.  This is the car that finally retired the Windsor small-block V8 which is a downside, at least in my opinion, as I freaking love that engine (and there are about a million cool things you can do with it). It is _better looking_ than the 3rd gen or fox body. My personal opinion is that if you're going to buy a Mustang, buy a new one or a 1965-1973 (1st gen). You can't afford the former and you can't afford the latter in the kind of condition you need.In sober truth: if you're buying your first car, don't buy a pony car unless you're a gearhead who is going to fix it when it breaks, keep it running, and take care of it.  You will make yourself and anyone who has to listen to you bitch about it (your parents, girlfriend, friends) unhappy.  If I were buying a car at 16 and wanted something reasonable, comfortable, and inexpensive to insure, I'd probably be looking for a low-mileage early 2000's Ford Taurus.  They aren't especially pretty, but, the 24valve 3.0L version (look for an SEL) have abundant power for their weight and you can get one CHEAP and the insurance will be concomitantly cheap. Slap a coat of matte black paint and some stripes on it and it actually looks kind of menacing. I get that you want an awesome car.  Don't we all? You know what? It's of zero importance. Save your money, get something reliable and have fun with it. When you buy that pony car, buy the one you want, not the one you can just barely afford.  You'll be glad you did and you will enjoy the ride a lot more.

How much does it cost to insure a Ford Mustang?

Now for my first car I really wanted a Ford and the only one I like is the mustang. I know that they are sports cars so the insurance is high but I would like to know exactly how much it would cost for insurance especially since it would be my first car.

2000 mustang overdrive?

Every time you start the car the OD is automatically in the on position. Pressing the OD button will then turn it off until you press it again which will turn it on. Restarting the car will reset the OD to on again unless you turn it off.
OD is a highway gear to save gas mileage and lower engine RPM. It is not a passing gear or a gear to make you accelerate faster. It will actually hurt acceleration unless you are going very fast(over 100MPH). When you turn the OD off you are going down to 3rd gear which is the same as the transmission kicking down a gear when pushing the gas pedal to pass someone. Why do you think your car starts in 1st and goes up gears as you speed up and then shifts down as you slow down? The gear ratios change to optimize your speed and acceleration.

Which is better: a v8 or v6 mustang?

Unlike the other answers I do not think that the V8 is the obvious choice. "Hard core" mustang fans would not consider anything but a V8 , but if you are not one of them you can enjoy the V6. Also note that V6 engines were significantly improved starting with the 2011 model year - producing over 300 horse power, close to what the 2010 v8 is producing. In my mind it really depends what you plan to do with the car. For example - if you buy the car as a daily driver with the occasional weekend curvy road trip, a 2011+ v6 can be very enjoyable car, without the higher price tag and more expensive insurance. If, on the other side, you buy the car to go to a race track, and/or plan to modify the car and show it off - the v8 may fit the bill better
