Can I legally use album artwork for apparel design without permission or merchandising rights?

How is it that so many companies can produce graphics on their apparel with those famous images of the Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd and other artists. They PAY. They seek permission, in the form of a license agreement that includes approval rights, quality control, royalties, and a right of audit to make sure those royalties are being properly paid. You need to do the same thing or you will get sued so fast your head will spin, and you will lose, and you will probably end up paying all the legal fees for the plaintiffs as well as your own. There is no "loophole" you can exploit by "changing the images slightly." In copyright that's called a derivative work, and that, too, requires a license.DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT OBTAINING THE RIGHTS.

What is the best album with the worst album cover?

The Bends - Radiohead (1995)Dan Rickwood is one talented guy, and this was his first album cover for Radiohead. Since then, Radiohead has used him for every album cover since.Tell me. Which person out there would look at this album cover today and think “yeah that’s a guy I want doing my artwork.”No one. That’s the answer. This might have been impressive or provocative for 1995, but it just looks terrible today. It’s, arguably, Radiohead’s greatest album, and the cover looks bad.It looks okay for 1995, because that’s all they could do at the time. This is basically a photograph of a CPR doll. But I couldn’t tell. My nine year old self was a bit underwhelmed looking at this cover. The music however, took my breath away.I don’t know about you, but I don’t think of masterpieces like Fake Plastic Trees, The Bends, or High and Dry when I look at this “image.”I think “that’s 1995 for ya.”It’s just bad. Hasn’t aged. It’s hard to believe the same guy who did that also did this:Am I dreaming, or does it look like this album cover actually was made by someone who was using their talent? That’s because it was. The previous? Not so much.Read more at Stanley Donwood On The Stories Behind His Radiohead Album Covers - NME

I can't draw on the computer?

I just recently bought a graphics monitor(It's a lot like a cintiq, but the brand is Yiynova) my problem comes in with this, I can draw JUST friggin' fine on a piece of paper(but hate the paper medium hence wanting to do digital art versus paper) I had a graphics tablet and needless to say I sucked monkey nuts with it, I thought it was an issue of not having enough control, and I will admit my lines are much much much much straighter with this, however I just cannot get a clean line to save my life, I want it to look like ACTUAL pencil and pen(probably eventually going for an anime/manga style finish) however I cannot do this to save my life, it's driving me effing psychotic PLEAAAAASE help someone, I just want to draw on this more like with a similar result to my drawings on paper, with a more realistic pencil/pen feel. When I draw with this the lines come out like http://s205.photobucket.com/user/Enigma_038/media/Untitled-1_zps8c222ee9.jpg.html?sort=3&o=9 however when I draw on paper they come out more like http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb19/Enigma_038/a8605d34-bbe9-4b67-adb0-ab76cc9e9092_zpsdf6fd8aa.jpg how can I get results more like the latter on a PC....it's not got anything to do with accuracy now, it's something to do with the lines not being pencil/pen like X_X I'm literally gonna end up in a madhouse if I don't get help so again pleeaaaase help someone!

What is a reasonable rate for custom cover art for a novel?

Take a look on fiver. It's a website where people do things for five bucks, nothing more. Now this may seem like a cheap amount to pay for the quality work you are looking for, but i think you might be surprised at what you find there.I have personally seen art bought there for various projects that are extremely high quality. Take a look and see if it fits your needs. If that doesn't work, find an artist or artists you like and talk to them. Most are more than willing to work with you on a price that makes both parties happy. Do a search on Facebook for Nigel roper artworks and oddities. I know this artist personally and depending on the size and detail you're after, I'm sure he could work something up for you for a very reasonable price. Sorry for some reason I can't post a link, so a screen shot will have to do here.

Drawing conclusion form of government?

Benefit = it's easy
Drawbacks = it's non-social, solitary; easy to hack/corrupt the system; not everyone has access to a computer; no paper trail; the accuracy of the system would always be called into question.

Voting by computer is the antithesis (opposite) of a direct democracy in which citizens come together to vote. Voting by computer is, like so many other things in modern life, designed for efficiency and speed but doesn't necessarily lend itself to democratic principles....especially since people without computers would be disenfranchized and even those with computers would wonder if their votes were counted correctly. It demands a big faith in the infallibility of technology and in the goodness of mankind.

How do I sell my drawings online?

Your drawings are awesome and I think that StryperH
had a good idea about selling them at the park, or to neighbors or friends.

Do them on nice heavy white plain paper and frame them, then give it a shot. Look for frames at thrift stores and yard sales so you don't have to invest much.

People love original art.

You could also offer them for sale on craigslist.

Check out locally if there is an art fair you can participate in, also.

There is one website I know of where you can sell your stuff online, but I don't know enough about it to give you any details. You can check it out yourself if you like. I do know that they get an awful lot of submissions so I don't know what the chances are that your stuff would sell. Your drawings are awesome, but I'd be afraid they'd get lost in the volume of art that is on there.

Anyway, check it out if you want. Here's a link to it:

and the craiglist website is www.craiglist.org

Good luck!
