What is the most expensive baseball card that you own?

I’ve owned many baseball cards over the years, but never owned a Babe Ruth Card. I always like this particular card of the Babe, so I bought it at auction. I enjoy mile-high card Co. auctions with the thick glossy catalogs. I used to put together high ends card collections which were all PSA graded and sell them at auction. It’s the opposite of lower priced sets which people often break up because the single card values are higher than the sets. People at a certain level will pay quite a premium for a complete PSA graded set, say in all PSA 7s 8s and some 9s. My last set sold at auction for just under 45K. It was a 1949 Bowman Master set which was one of the top sets in the country at that time.So I’ll own a Babe Ruth card for a while, and when I get tired of looking at it, I’ll just sell it.

How much is a Topps Barry Bonds rookie card worth?

There's one thing that needs to be determined before going too far into the answer and that is - what Barry Bonds Topps rookie card are you referring to?What would generally be considered Bonds' Topps rookie card among avid collectors is his 1986 Topps Traded card. It looks like this:What people often claim to be Bonds' Topps rookie card, but normally wouldn't be by an avid collector, is his 1987 Topps card. It looks like this:Between the two, the 1986 Topps Traded card is the more desirable. One reason is because it's from an earlier year and the other is that it's from a much rarer set of cards. In 1987, Topps flooded the market with their cards as a result of the growing hobby and growing competition. While often viewed as possibly the best/most iconic design in the history of Topps, 1987 Topps cards never had the monetary value of previous years among collectors.A good place to go to check the true value of cards is eBay. And rather than looking at the "buy it now" price, it's good to look at what a live auction that is close to closing is selling for for your particular card. You also need to be aware that the Bonds cards (and cards in general) that have a much higher eBay price are going to be those that have been professionally graded, which means that they've been sent to a company that examines individual cards, gives them a grade based on their condition, serially numbers it then places them in a condition preserving plastic, all for a fee. Here are three different professionally graded Barry Bonds cards:If I had to guess, your card has probably not been professionally graded and because of this, it unfortunately will not be an overly desirable piece on the market. A non-professionally graded 1987 Topps Barry Bonds card will get you around a dollar on eBay and maybe $3 is you find someone to buy it from you in-person (like craigslist or from a card shop, which are hard to come by these days.)A 1986 Topps Traded Bonds that has not been professionally graded will likely get you about double that on both eBay and an in-person exchange. The mid to late 1980s completely changed fhe baseball card industry. If you ever stumble upon a large collection of cards from this era, there are only a handful of cards and sets that initially gained and retained any sort of significant value.
