How Much To Expect From Pawn Shops

How much can I expect to get for my Glock 22 from a pawn shop if I trade it in for a new Glock 27 ($480)?

My Glock is a 3rd generation, .40 caliber Glock, upgraded to night sights, has a brand new larger slide lock, and three 15 round magazines. It comes with everything such as carrying case, manual, key lock, cleaning tools, etc. just like if you bought it brand new. It's in perfection working order. There is minimal/slight wear on the slide from holster use. I've seen the gun on gunbroker.com on average $380 (with only 1 mag, night sights, no case, no lock, no manual, and no cleaning tools). Mine has all of that plus 2 extra 15 round mags, and a Glock bullet into magazine loader. A new Glock 22 with 1 magazine is $500, with night sights, $590.

How much should I expect to get from a pawn shop for a .25 ct diamond in 14k gold ring?

A lot will depend on the amount of gold and whether the .25 ct is a total ct count or one of the diamonds of the three is .25 carats. If a standard gold ring (i.e. not a wide band) and one of the diamonds is .25 carats, expect an offer of about $75. <

How much money can I expect from a pawn shop for this?

I need a couple dollars before friday so I'm going to pawn this $60 radar detector tomorrow. It's only a few months old and I've only used it for one day so it's like brand new.

How much will they give me for it? By the way I'm going to buy it back on friday.

Taking camera to pawn shop, how much $ can i expect to get??

If it is a film camera, you probably won't get as much for it as you want because digital is so popular now.

I would suggest going to eBay and finding out what those items are selling for there. (Get your search narrowed down, then click "Completed Listings" on the left side of the screen, partway down). Then when you go to the pawnshop, you will know if you are getting a better deal.

How much can i expect a pawn shop to give me for a 10k gold bracelet?

A gold neckless or bracelet is a tough item. I manage a pawn shop. About half the necklesses / bracelets that come through my pawn shop that say they are 10k actually are not gold. Either the the person bought a fake, or got ripped off. Sometimes jewelry stores even sell necklesses that aren't really gold without knowing it. So, a pawn shop is leary of bracelets. Some pawnshops won't even take them. At my pawnshop, we focus on a lot of jewelry, so we have a few different tests to see if someting is really gold. Sometimes we have to do a "destructive test" which means it would leave a brown stain on the item. (It can be polished out most of the time). The second problem is that pawnshops have a very hard time selling large gold chains. As I said before, since a lot of fake chains are around, people would like to buy from a reputable buyer. And a pawnshop is not considered reputable compared to a jewelry store. Ask yourself if you went looking to buy your bracelet from a pawn shop or from a jewelry store? So, if the pawnshop can confirm it is gold, there's a very large chance they would be srapping it instead of selling it. (Scrapping means melting it down for gold value) Lets say it weighs 31.1 grams, or 1 troy ounce. Gold is around $900 an ounce. 10K means 10/24 or 41.6% gold. So the bracelet would be worth $375 in gold value. It depends how confident the pawnbroker is in that your chain is really gold. At my pawnshop, if the chain passed all the tests, we would give 40% of $375, or $150. It seems with jewlery, a lot of the time a pawn shop gives 8-10% of what it was purchased for.

How much do pawn shops pay for an Xbox One?

OK, unfortunately your question does not provide enough information for a good numerical answer but I can still help you figure it out. From your question, it sounds to me like you are trying to sell it, but maybe you are trying to pawn it? I will try to help with both.First - there are a lot of options for ‘Xbox One’ - how many controllers are included, what model is it, does it include any other accessories?Next - go to eBay. Do a search for your model. Now look to the left sidebar where all the options are located. Choose:Condition: UsedShow Only: Sold ItemsYou will find a lot of information on what your model of Xbox sold for during the last 90 days. Take into consideration the shipping fees or lack of shipping fees. In general, on an item as popular as this, I would say your Xbox is worth the item fee plus the shipping fee - in your local market, with no shipping needed.Whatever ebay tells you the Xbox is worth, figure that the pawn shop would be willing to buy it from you for about 50% of the worth. If you decide to pawn it, they will give you less - probably 35–40%. Not a lot of money. You didn't ask this, but if you want to sell it fast and easy, I think you should go to Craigslist. It is a popular item and you could receive 80-90% of the eBay value pretty quickly and close to 100% if you are not in a hurry.eBay is another option, but the eBay and PayPal fees will take up around 10–13% of the item value and buyers generally expect shipping to be free on items like this, so it devalues the item another 10% or so. Expect to net about 70–75% of the eBay sold value data.

How much markup do pawn shops make?

General merchandise that comes in on a daily basis (video games, guitars, sports equipment, etc) your goal is to buy it for 35–40% of its value. Knowing you are not going to get 100% of its worth when you try to resell it, you can normally expect to get 75~80%. So for stuff you plan on selling in the store your at roughly 45% markup. However, when u buy new electronics you can get much closer to its 100% value by selling on eBay, amazon, Craig's. Shipping & fees take a little bit of your profit but flipping that stuff online is the way to go.Gold/Silver/coins all had a set amount per gram that I could pay out on a daily basis based on the price of each one per ounce.

What is the percentage pawn shops make on sales?

You asked about Sales, which means the Pawn Shop bought the item outright (as opposed to a loan.)  In that case, on average, a Pawn Shop will try to make 50-100% on their money when they sell the item.  That means they try to buy items for 33-50% less than what they think the resale price is.Note that the customer could potentially get more money by selling the item directly themselves (using eBay or Craigslist, etc) but selling to the Pawn Shop offers the quickest easiest and most convenient option (albeit for less money). But PAWNing is different, and their profit margin on items PAWNed (ie loaned on) mostly depends on state regulation, and can range from 3% monthly interest to 25+% monthly interest.  So if the customer takes a few months to redeem the item, the Pawn Shop can make several months' interest, which could be as little as 9%, or 75+%.  (And in the case where the customer ends up leaving the item unredeemed, then the shop can sell it for the 50-100+% profit mentioned initially.)Note that Pawn Shops decide what cash they can give based on what THEY can sell that item for.  For example, a Pawn Shop that knows it can sell a particular TV for $200 can offer $100-130 to buy that TV from a customer.  But a different shop (even down the street) that knows it can only sells that same TV for $150, can only offer $75-100 to buy it.This means that the difference between different Pawn Shop offers is NOT necessarily caused by different Pawnbroker opinions (or greed).  Rather, it's a result of basic economics and the fact that different shops are better or worse at selling their merchandise.  (The average difference in offers found for items listed on PawnGuru.com is 300+% !!)
