How Much Weight Did My Friend Gain

My friend has gained a lot of weight?

i have a female friend who has always been thin. we used to work out together, hang out a lot, etc. well recently she got a new bf and she's gained a noticable amount of weight. she used to be 5'0 and about 105...she recently told me she's up to 120. and it's been about 3 months. none of her clothes fit and she just looks awful overall...she's starting to grow a legit gut now. what should i tell her?

My friend has gained a lot of weight! Help?

i have a female friend who is one of my best friends. shes always been active and we used to work out and hang out a lot together. but recently, i've been seeing some changes in her and i'm starting to get really worried. she's been really distant lately; she got a new bf about 4 months ago, so i expected some of that, but not to this level. besides seeming a little down, her weight has completely spiraled out of control. when we used to go running together, she would always end up pushing me farther than i would push myself...she's 5'0 and weighed about 105 then.

well, the past 4-5 months she has put on a LOT of weight. it's to the point where it's very noticable. her face looks really chubby and she's barely recognizable now to be honest. i finally broke down and asked her (given our friendship that's not a weird thing to ask) how much she weighs and she finally told me she's at 137 now! she's gained 32 pounds in a little over 4 months. she talked to me a little about it and told me none of her clothes fit her. even her underwear is too tight. she hates it but just doesn't seem to want to do anything about it.

i saw her a few days ago and i hate to say this about such a close friend but WOW she looks awful. her shirt was riding up the whole time i was there and man has she grown a belly. there's bright red stretch marks all over it too, and her love handles have gotten huge. she has complained to me several times about it and wants to do something, but it seems like every time i try to help she has an excuse. what should i do? how can i help? what do you think? thanks!

Why can my friend eat more than me and not gain weight?

I've grown up with this girl since 4th grade, and at first, I was half a foot taller than her and as skinny as a stick. My friend was skinny too, but a lot plumper than I was.

Throughout middle school, she would eat french fries and cookies instead of balanced meals; and these were really unhealthy fries; curly fries, waffle fries, normal fries, drenched in chili, cheese, and deep fried with salts. She would usually eat three little trays of these a day just during lunch. I stuck with the nomral school lunch and ate the chicket, lasagna, mashed potatoes and peas and occasionally salads, always with a lot of vegetables and fruit on the side.

After 3 or 4 years I started getting fatter and she started getting thinner!
She caught up to my height, and now is even taller than I am.

Since middle school, she still eats gigantic unheatlhy meals; often eating pizza and a lot of fried foods past midnight. Her stomach is still flat, plus now she is five to ten pounds thinner than me.

Since middle school, I have started eating healthier- cutting out the carbs and stuff that was in school lunches, and instead eating home packed lunches full of vegetables, mostly, and whole grains and fruits. I also eat pretty small portions, but not less than what i ate before.

People comment on how much we've changed and think I've turned into a fat pig, while the opposite has happened! I feel very embarrassed when with her, and I feel like its so unfair that she can eat all she wants and still have a flat stomach and slim thighs, while I have to watch my portions and I still get fat! Why does this happen? What can I do about it?

How can I get my friend to gain weight without her knowing?

So pretty much this b**** stole my crush and she's using him to go to formal. She's already pretty thick but I want to get her bigger. She's always taking things that I like and she does this intentionally. I'm done letting her think she can get away with this. I know that this sounds really bad but I need her to gain as much weight as possible in a month.

My best friend is gaining weight like crazy!?

My best friend has been gaining weight rapidly for the past 6 months. She has always been slightly overweight but her weight has got out of control!

I’m not sure exactly how much she gained but she looks like she gained like 70-80lbs?

One of our other friends sent me a links to a few videos, but faces were cut off. We think it’s our friend that is gaining weight because there were things in her room that were seen in the video. My friend that sent me the links somehow ended up on the weird part of YouTube. That’s how she found them.

The first video was of her stuffing her face with junk food and shaking her belly as she did so.

The other video was of her lying down and an unidentified person shaking her belly and rubbing lotion on every crevice under each part of her belly that pretty much has a fold in it now across her belly button.

So we think someone is making her gain weight.

How do we approach her about this?

If someone does not eat, do they gain weight? My friend says the body will hold onto the fat and you will actually gain weight.

Your friend is full of ‘it. Your body requires energy to just stay alive plus some more if you do anything such as get out of bed. Approximately half of the energy (calories) a typical person ingests daily is used to just stay alive. Your body demands this even if you eat nothing. Day after day, every day. Failure to deliver that energy, every day, means you die. Your body has only two sources of energy. Food intake or the body fat already stored. Failure to ingest sufficient food means the shortage MUST be made up from stored fat. It is impossible to avoid this fundamental fact.Your body cannot “hold onto” anything. For this to be true, it would require that some energy is just wasted during normal times. That never happens. Evolution has removed from the human gene pool any people carrying any gene that could be wasteful. Even if my theory were a fantasy, it should be possible for someone to identify the source of the energy that is held onto and where it would normally go. And testing such should be easy. The fact that no science offers any support for such a “hold onto everything” idea is de facto evidence that the theory is junk science.

My friend, 32, is very slim and wants to gain weight. He usually eats a lot to achieve his plan but he couldn't make it. What advice would you give to my friend?

I’m 1.78cm height and weighed 50–55kg until about 24 years old. Now (5 years later) I weigh around 73, and I’m very happy with my weight. I’m also quite slim. It’s mostly muscle. The causes for the change were multi-facetted. On the one hand, it’s important to realize that, according to many studies, fat people grossly underestimate the amount of calories they consume while skinny people grossly overestimate it. A good advice for your friend is for him to start counting his calories, at least for a week. Calculate Your BMI - Standard BMI Calculator tell him to use this to calculate his BMI, use an online calculator to see how many calories he burns a day based on his BMI, then eat 500 more than that a day.On the other hand, working out helped A LOT. It teaches your body that it requires more mass, in order to be ready for the workout. And I don’t mean cardio, I mean lifting. As heavy as he can, and heavier and heavier all the time. Lifting trains your body to be ready for more lifting, which requires more muscle mass.If he just wants to gain weight, tell him not to worry about it. Nowadays, I can get as high as 80kg if I don’t mind myself at all, and it’s more than I’d want. I’m pretty sure that keeping my weight down is going to be harder and harder as I grow old.Best of luck!
