How much weight will I lose if I only drink water for two weeks?

Oh, dear lord. The ignorance of these commenters is overwhelming.

Over a year ago, I water fasted for 45 days (that means: only consuming water, nothing else) starting at 165 pounds and ending at 110. I have YET to gain a single pound back.

On top of no longer being overweight, my chronic asthma that I've suffered with for the last 13 years has completely vanished. I've had 10/40 vision since I was 3 years old. My vision started improving during the fast, and about a week afterwards, I went to my optometrist for an annual visit and my vision had COMPLETELY corrected itself. After a lifetime of wearing glasses and contacts, I now have 20/20 vision without surgery or medication. My blood pressure had been high for 8 months (160/110,) but after the fast, it had stabilized at 120/80.

There are other minor things that have also improved, such as: my severe/moderate acne has vanished without ever returning, and the stretch marks on my inner thighs from my 5th grade growth spurt are completely gone.

Starvation mode is a myth. I lost about a pound of muscle during those 45 days and my metabolism is actually faster than it was before. I used to eat 1,800 calories a day to maintain 165, and now I have to eat about 2,400 calories to maintain 110.

My body did not attack and/or feed off of my organs, like most people tend to believe. In fact, my chronic IBS (5 generations of Irritable Bowel Syndrome on my mom's side of the family) is completely gone as well. I've been off ALL of my medications for over a year now.

As for you: you'd probably lose about 10-20 pounds, but only 10-15 pounds of fat (the rest being water weight and fecal matter.)

I'm just eating grapes and cherries, and maybe more if I can get some. If I do this for a week, how much can I expect to lose? Can I lose weight by drinking only V8 juice?

Yes, but as soon as you start eating a normal diet the weight will come back again. Such diets are not sustainable. You'd be better off doing some research on metabolism and how the body works. Then get on a healthy diet and start working out, that way you lose the weight and you also learn how to adapt your lifestyle to keep the weight off.

Just cut out all carbohydrate, sodium, and sugar from your diet. Drink 8-12 ounces of water before every time you eat. Yes, you'll be going to the bathroom a lot, but it helps you make sure you're hungry and not just thirsty as people usually mistake thirst for hunger. Just eat whole grains, no dairy unless it's low fat, NO JUNK FOOD, no dessert. For instance, a good dinner would be grilled salmon spritzed with lemon, spinach salad, and whole wheat pasta with a sprinkling of low fat cheese.
Losing weight doesn't happen overnight, you have to exercise as well. Always check with your physician before doing any system cleanses.
Know that whatever you consume does have an effect on your body! If you usually don't drink water but juice or energy drinks, just switching to only water can help! Don't eat another you wouldn't eat if you were training for a marathon. Make sure to eat 3 meals a day with 2 light snacks or 6 small meals a day otherwise your metabolism may slow!

How much weight will a man lose if he doesn't eat for 2 weeks?

2 weeks - I can almost mathematically say this for a 170–150lb, 48 yr old, 5′ 9.5″ man who has a desk job and very little exercise. Total of ~20lb. Break down will be 2lb muscle, 6lb water and intestinal bacteria both (good and bad) and 12lb fat. So 1:3:6 ratio of muscle:water:fat. The longer you fast, the less muscle you lose per day and the less water and stomach bacteria. After day 4 you pretty much go to 1/2lb fat and 1/8 or so lb everything else. After day 4 muscle loss is under 1lb in 10 days. I have done a 20 day fast last year with some detailed records with a DSM-BIA scale. Its a good safe and fast way to lose weight.

Well this girl said she lost 27 pounds in 29 days, but then in later videos she says she gained about 50 pounds back afterwards.... but feel free to try if you want to.

But here's the FACTS:

If you eat anything under 1100 calories PER DAY then your body will go into what is known as "starvation mode".

*Starvation mode = When not eating enough (<1100 calories) First, your metabolism comes to almost a complete stop. Your body take the lack of food as a sign that you are starving. In an attempt to save itself, your body will store away your fat and instead it will start breaking down muscle tissue for energy. Once you begin eating more your body will keep taking the food in and storing it as fat rather than burning it for energy because it is preparing itself for the next time you "starve yourself".

This happens because up until very recently food had not been in abundance (as it is today) and so the body developed ways to keep itself alive during periods of starvation. Now we have enough food, though our bodies have not adapted to the new era.
So, point is, you will NOT lose fat, or at least not much of it. Most of the weight loss would come from muscle loss and water weight.
