How Much Weight Will I Lose In A Month If I Run 2 Miles For 5 Days A Week

If i run 5 miles a day, 6 times a week, for a month how much weight will i lose?

First of all, congratulations for taking the initiative and actually achieving your weight loss through hard work and natural efforts instead of the harmful drugs that are advertised.

Second, You definitely have to keep track of your calorie/fat intake and make sure to burn more calories then you consume.

Third, do weight training to build muscle. Muscle increases your metabolic rate, thereby burning more calories even when at rest/not necessarily exercising.

Fourth, as mentioned previously higher metabolism means faster/more efficient calorie burning. Some other ways to raise your metabolism , if even for a short while, is taking cold showers/drinking really cold beverages, using a sauna regularly, and drinking green tea. Hot and cold works the same way - the body is forced to work harder to regulate your body temperature so you burn more calories.

Fifth, consume carbohydrates such as breads/pasta when you will be active since unused carbs are more likely to be stored as fat. Try to eat lean meat or a lot of protein to feed the muscles that you are strengthening.

Good luck.

Walking 6 miles a day is an ambitious feat, and while weight loss may be your goal, you want to make sure your body is properly fueled so you can get those miles in at a strong pace. Carbs -- fruit, grains and veggies -- are the fuel your muscles need to power your body as you walk. Eat your carbs one to three hours before walking to get the energy you need without upsetting your stomach. Good carb-rich ideas include a peanut butter and banana sandwich, yogurt and strawberries or whole-grain crackers and cheese. Also be sure to drink 16 ounces of water before your walk -- especially if it's hot and you're walking outside -- and continue to drink as you exercise.Refuel after your long walk with a snack consisting of carbs and protein -- a glass of low-fat chocolate milk or turkey and an apple -- within 30 minutes of finishing. How much weight would I lose if I run 10 miles every day for 2 months?

Others have hinted at the answer, but I mostly closely echo Nico's response. The real question isn't how much you'll lose in 2 months, it should be about sustainability. Running 10 miles everyday for 2 months is not sustainable and at the end of those 2 months, your adrenals will be so wiped out, you'll gain all the weight you're trying to lose and more.5'8" and 150 is about ideal for male. Exercise is only 20% of the equation, truth be told.Assuming you allow 8 weeks for your weight loss, you can reasonably lose 1-2 pounds per week in a safe manner without losing too much muscle. If i run 2 miles 3-4 times a week, how long before i lose weight?

Weight loss works one way only. To take in less calories than you burn in a day. A 150- lb woman needs 1700 calories per day to run her organs. If she were to do NO exercise and eat exactly 1700 calories, she would maintain. If she were to do some exercise and burn 350 calories per day, it would take her 10 days to lose 1 pound. (3500 calories = 1 lb.) If she were to also drop her daily intake to 1350 calories, she would lose that pound in 5 days.
The type of exercise you do has an impact on your body too. If you were to do strength training, you would tone muscles, becoming more "cut" and if you used heavier weights, you would start to bulk up. If you were to do aerobics, cardio-vascular exercise, this is good for flushing fat out without a specific target area. Running is scary becuase it's easy to over- do it. You should exercise a rate where you can speak a few sentences or sing a few lines, in between breaths. If you're so winded you can't squeak a sentence out, you're overdoing it and BURNING MUSCLE. I'm sure you would hate to become weaker through your running, so just be careful of that.

That would mean there will be extra calorie burning without an exercise, if that extra burden can be shared by cellular metabolism. So if a person keeps walking he is quite likely to increase his Resting Metabolic Rate. But if a person walks for 1 or 2 hours at a time, the extra calorie burning will be 60 x 5 or 10 = 300 or 600 calories. That will be difficult to shift this extra burden on cellular metabolism. So the body will save some calories meant for vital organs. The chances of regaining this lost weight will also be minimum because there is increasing in Resting Metabolic Rate. So even if you stop walking you will not gain any weight.
