How Much Weight Will I Lose

If I fast for 3 days, how much weight will I lose?

There are too many unknown variables. It would depend on your basal metabolic rate. There are calculators to ESTIMATE your basal metabolic rate, but for certain people even those are inaccurate. It would also depend on things like how much glycogen you have stored. If you have been doing a high carb diet, you would lose more weight while fasting than if you have been doing a ketogenic diet. This is because on a ketogenic diet, you don’t have as much glycogen as if you are on a high carb diet. Glycogen binds with water, so when you burn that energy you lose the water weight.

How much weight will i lose if i don't eat for 20 days?

I don't think that you will die. Is this for weight loss or spiritality (ie: fasting & praying)? Anyways, if a person eats a well balanced diet & exercises then the average weight to lose would be 2-3 lbs per week. So, lets say, you eat nothing & don't exercise, you could probably lose about 7 lbs a week depending on your metabalism. So for a 3 wk period (21 days), you could probably lose around 21 lbs. (?)

About how much weight will i lose if....?

I am a carb fanatic! I love pasta, rice, and bread! I used to come home and eat it for a snack, dinner, and sometimes even had it for breakfast! I'm not happy at my weight now so I haven't eaten rice or pasta or bread in 3 days and I havent lost anyu weight yet, but I'm wondering how much I'll lose if I keep this up for a month? Thanks.

How much weight will I lose if I don't eat for 5 days?

Not enough to justify what you will do to your body in the process. In terms of real weight, it will be somewhere between 3/8 and 3/4 pounds per day. It will depend on how big you are in the first place, and how active you are during those five days - although after the first day or two that’s almost certainly going to be “not active at all”.When you step on the scale, you will probably find that it’s more than what I’ve predicted, but that’s only going to be from the effects of having emptied out your digestive system and of dehydration, and it might turn out to be less if you bloat up from overhydration. The real weight loss, which is only the tissue that has been metabolized to keep your heart, brain and other vital organs functioning despite the lack of nutrition, will be within the range that I said it is.Starving yourself is a terrible way to lose weight. It hardly ever leads to permanent weight loss - except, of course, in the case where you do so much damage to your body that you permanently impair or kill yourself. Even if you don’t go that far, the lack of essential nutrients harms your body in numerous ways. Don’t do it. If you’re thinking of ignoring this advice, then you’ll probably ignore my next bit of advice, too: see a therapist.

How much weight will i lose on a 30 day water fast?

I'm on a water fast right now and I'm at day 4 going on 5. You do loose weight, but you have to be aware of what your body is telling you and to stop when enough is enough.

The best way to do it is not extend the fast past a week without supervision, 10 days at the most. Then you can break the fast carefully, return to eating solid foods after a few days, and then after a nice length break, you can do another 7 day fast. After breaking the fast in the correct way, the only way you won't regain your old weight is if you realize that now the body can process your food better (more efficient.. slower metabolism) and your stomach is smaller, so it needs less. If you go back to eating the normal amount that brought you to this current weight, you'll be right back up there. Do some research before you listen to uneducated people. Your body won't die unless you go into starvation, and that's after it's gone through autolysis, which is the process where your body turns to unnecessary fat cells, bacteria, tumors, ect., for fuel. It's dangerous when your body has no extra fuel left. Since it can detoxify you and give your digestive system a rest, eating up all the destructive things in your body, fasting is frequently looked at as a healing process.

On average you can expect to loose at least 1 pound a day, but it differs for people. If you weigh more, you're likely to loose more quickly.

Do research, be careful, and make sure you're doing it for the right reasons, which is health.

Good luck.

How much weight will I lose by not eating for a week?

I did this once, well I didn’t eat for 10 days. I made sure to keep pretty hydrated and probably excersised about 1–2 hours on average a day. I lost 5kg and I also lost my period. I didn’t notice any other physical changes although when I did start eating normally again (because I didn’t have an eating disorder but a more complicated psychological problem) I gained back all of the weight I lost in about a week, eating normally so about 2000 calories a day because of messing up my metabolism.I wouldn’t recommend doing this as after a few days I stopped feeling normal hunger and instead would get extremely painful cramps and pains in my stomach for around 15 minutes a couple of times a day. I got out of breathe from even walking, was very dizzy all of the time (honestly surprised I didn’t faint)They also wanted to send me into a hospital but luckily I started eating again so avoided being an inpatient. All in all you probably shouldn’t do this but if you do I lost about 5 kg but I don’t know if you would loose a similar amount or not

How much weight will I lose if I eat 500 calories a day and go to the gym 5 times a week for an hour?

Actually after the first few days you won’t lose much if any. At that level the body goes into starvation mode and starts shutting down body processes to try to protect the vital functions, e.g. the heart and breathing. Continue and you set yourself up nicely for serious damage much of which may be irreversible. If you persist longer you will probably end up with a huge abdomen and stick-like arms and legs and looking like those sad images we see of starving Africans.I seriously doubt you would get through even the gentlest of exercise programs beyond the first few days given many body functions would be shut down and you have no fuel for energy. Your body would also be cannibalising itself to survive and protein is ‘better’ because the body can convert muscle protein to keytones that the brain can use in place of carbohydrate. Of course you will be in a total mental fog and unable to make rational decisions. Oh and don’t forget that the heart is a muscle and the body will take muscle from anywhere it can. So add the serious risk of losing heart muscle and potentially your heart failing. On the other hand, hey you may weigh less. Yay! And you’ll also have damaged body organs, a shot metabolism, poor or no circulation so you will always feel cold, unbalanced hormones, hair loss, no sex life (you won’t be able to ‘get it up’), no mental capacity, no muscle tone (actually, just no muscles), constipation, probably acne and other skin complaints, possible loss of or loose teeth, weakened immune system (you’ll catch anything going), bone loss, bad breath …… What a catch you would be!But hey you may weigh less and that was the whole purpose, right?
