Nothing unless you drastically reduce your food intake or change your diet. Walking pretty much does nothing for you, unless your talking a heavy pack march or something similar. Running 3 miles at a ten minute mile pace WILL cut your weight however. Walking is a waste of time. You walk to the train station or up stairs. Walking to lose weight is like asking for diet coke with your big mac.

I think you might be getting a little mixed up with what you want exactly. You say that you want to lose "weight" but that means you might want to get rid of some muscle too. You then say that you'd like to "shape" (I'd call it tone) your body a little which implies you want to build some muscle. To answer it in the best way, I am going to look at it as if you want to get rid of fat AND build muscle at the same time. If you're looking to "trim" and "tone" your body, and espectially because you suggest you are not that overweight, I would suggest you start performing more intensive aerobic exercises such as jogging. I wouldn't think you need to change the whole way you eat or go on a diet because if you're wanting to build muscles - it's better to do it all with exercise.

Exercises like jogging won't exactly "build" your muscles on your stomach but they will help reduce the extra fat around there. Depending on how fit you are, you should go on daily or bi-daily jogs of around a mile. To build muscles, you should concentrate on anaerobic exercises such as sit-ups to help build muscles.

These muscle-building exercises will give your muscles the toning and training they need to grow and become more prominent. To start to see a real difference with sit-ups, you should be looking to do no more than 100 every day (more than that will often hurt your muscles).

If you stick to doing those two forms of exercise - jogging and sit-ups, you should see real improvements in a week or two. Remember, you should do them as often as you can (I.E every single day).

Even though I really recommend that you exercise, realistically speaking the MOST important part of losing weight is changing how you eat. You probably will not be able to get back to 65 kg just through exercise. I know because I used to weigh 87 kgs and I got down to 64 kgs. I did do exercise (1 hour of yoga 4x a week, and then running 1 mile 1-2 times a week). But, the biggest change was how I ate. I started to record what I ate, and I went from eating about 2500 calories a day to about 1300.

If you are walking 3 km a day, you will burn about 200-250 calories from that exercise. If you do that every day and you keep eating just enough to maintain your weight, you will lose about 1 kg a month. So at that rate, you will be to 65 kg in a little less than 2.5 years.

BUT, if you do the walking, and you cut out 500 calories a day from food, you will lose about 3.2 kg a month. You can then get back to 65 kg in about 9 months! 500 calories a day is much easier to cut out than it seems at first. And it is not unhealthy to lose around 3 kg a month. But, if 500 will be too drastic, if you can cut out just 250 calories a day you can reach your goal in about 1.25 years. 250 calories is very easy to cut, it's a can of soda or a dessert.

It depends on your over-all caloric intake and the types of foods you are eating.
I would also reccomend having healthy snacks between these meals- even if it's just an apple or a muesli bar- it will keep your metabolism up and also your blood glucose levels, which will stop you from getting lethargic and cranky.
Walking 5 miles will also help you to build muscle tone, as well as cardiovascular fitness... given the new muscle mass on your body, you may APPEAR to gain weight on the scales, but if you were to measure your thighs, etc- you would have actually toned-up.
Now that you've started walking regularly, your metabolism will go up and you will become hungrier more often- don't ignore this, just have small, healthy snacks when these urges come along. A handful of nuts, a light yoghurt, etc.
