How Much Will It Cost To Take My Cat To The Vet

About how much would it cost to take my cat to the vet for a cold?

Also #5, any cats I've ever had or known seem to be much much healthier and live much longer when they're not vaccinated for every little thing, I have an aunt who takes her cats (my cat's brothers) to the vet all the time, gets them vaccinated for everything, and buys the most expensive food, one died 2 years ago and the other one is severely overweight and has numerous health problems, while all the other brothers and sisters are healthy as can be. And yes, she is an indoor "only child" and hates other cats so she never gets close to them.

How much did it cost you to take your cat to the vet and get his fleas removed?

This is a really hard to answer question because vets prices can vary to which state you live in and how much they individually charge. A regular check up with no shots or anything costs me 12 dollars. I buy Revolution for my cat which costs 12 dollars per application and lasts a month. It repels ticks, fleas, mosquitos, and ear mites.

How much will taking a stray cat to the vet cost?

There is a stray cat outside my house and I keep him in the garage so he doesn't have to sleep outside. I want to take him in. He let's me pet him now. He actually walked into my house today when I was walking inside but I told him he has to get out. If I am going to take him in, I need to take him to the vet and see if he is healthy but I'm not sure what else I have to do for him there. He is also sick and I will need medicine for him. About how much will all this cost? Please help

How much does it cost to take cat to vet for worms?

The cat does need an exam and updates on the shots--STANDARD vet care for any cat. Just make the appointment and get them in. Phone for a price quote.

Our vet charges $35 for an office call, $15 for a rabies shot, $18 for the distemper shot, $5 for a fecal exam and $6 for the worming meds (they need the exam to know which parasites to treat).

How much spaying a cat will cost in India?

This depends on whom you go to for spaying.A government veterinary hospital will charge for the medicines (all the dressing, surgical kits required for the surgery). Now this may amount to say Rs 1000–1500.If you go to a reputed NGO like Blue Cross, or in case of Pune, Canine Control and Care, they will charge nothing for the surgery, but will charge for post-op care. Which comes to around 300 per day for 5–6 days. This may amount to Rs 1500–1800.If you go to a private VET who you trust and with whom you have had a good experience, they will charge anywhere from Rs 2000–5000. Post op is usually not required, or depends from case to case.Personally, I have had all my 3 cats spayed from Private VETs. Yes it is expensive, but they didn't suffer from any complications later on.I've had a similar experience with Govt veterinary hospitals and NGOs. Except that it is inexpensive. Please make sure that you get the post op done, because cats are known to open and scratch out their stitches which can lead to complications.Hope this helped, thanks.

How much does it cost to take your cat to the vet to see if it is pregnant?

It is easy for anyone to just get on your case about the cat not having been fixed already but, I also know their are circumstances that, even with good intentions, ends up with a pregnant cat anyway. I have to at least give you credit for being observant of your cat, concerned about her potential condition AND taking on the responsability of preparing to care for her until you can find homes for the babies...if that does indeed turn out to be the case. SO.. to answer your question best I can...First thing you need to think about is this. When was the last time your cat was in heat and was there any possability she was "exposed" to an unneutered male cat? The second question is, has she ever been pregnant before? If she hasnt been pregnant before, check her nipples. About 3 weeks into a cats pregnancy they will start to "perk up" and start turning a little pink.
If those signs are there and you would like absolute confirmation you can have a vet do an ultra sound on her to see what she has going on (or not). The cost for that can vary but, the vet I use in Alabama charges be 90.00 for an ultra sound. It was worth it to me becuase I wanted an absolute confirmation either way also. If she is, you wont be able to see the babies moving around until about maybe the the 6th week or so of her pregnancy. BUT, you can probably feel them about the 5th week or so.Hope this helps and good luck. By the way. If she is... immediately start feeding her kitten food. It has higher nutriants that she will need for her growing babies and let her eat as much as she wants :) Yes, getting her spayed after wards (or as soon as possible if she isnt pregnant) would be a good idea ;)

My cat has a UTI, how much would the vet bill cost. Just need advice as well. Thanks!?

First the cat needs an exam and a urinalysis to determine what exactly is going on. You are right that a UTI is the most likely culprit but it could also be kidney stones or urinary crystals. How much treatment costs will depend on what's wrong, but if it's just a UTI then it should be quite cheap.

Exactly how much all of this costs depends on your location and the vet you go to. In my area an exam is usually $35-50 and urinalyses can be anywhere from $30-80 depending on the vet. If a culture is needed, that is probably another $20-30, and antibiotics are typically <$25. Like I said, that's what it is in my area. It could be different where you live.

Please get her in soon. In addition to being extremely uncomfortable, UTIs will kill a cat if left untreated.

**Added** Yes, urinary problems in male cats are typically much more expensive to deal with as males are more likely to develop deadly blockages from crystals which almost always require hospitalization and may eventually lead to very pricy surgery. A UTI in a female cat is not so bad in comparison!

How can I get a stray cat to a vet?

Regarding the carrier, yes you could use a box with plenty of ventilation holes in it. Just put some food as bait and wait for it to come into the box, and trap em. However, since you don't know this cat pretty well, are you sure the cat is friendly? Most cats would jump the instant they saw humans, even more so when the human is trying to trap them in a box! The cat might also bite or scratch you due to fear. You should be careful of this, or you might catch something from the cat.Regarding the vet payment, I would suggest looking for the local government veterinary clinics. In my country (Malaysia), these clinics provide very cheap (sometimes free) treatments. However, you might need to wait in line for a long time. If you decide to go for private vets, the treatments could be expensive! From my experience, the price for neuter is different for male and female cats, with the latter being more expensive. I neutered my cat for MYR200 (including overnight stay and medication). For de-worming, I paid MYR30 for 3 cats. It has been about a year plus passed, so I can't remember the exact amount I paid but this could be a rough estimation for you. I, too, was like you, and had no support from my parents. So I collected my pocket money and my sister contributed some more for me to pay for my cat vet visits.Another option is to collect funds from people, maybe you can ask from local animal-lover groups of your country to promote your cause or possibly help you with payment themselves. They sometimes receive substantial donations from the public to be used for purposes like this. You can also promote about it on your own social media, and tag other popular animal-loving accounts to help share/retweet your cause. I've had friends who did this for their pets/ strays they found and managed to collect funds for their cats' surgeries and medication. There are many good people in this world, yknow. If you decide to do this, make sure to take pictures of the cat proving his/her condition, show the vet bills and other related documents (explain to the vet of your case and he may provide whatever needed), and prepare a bank account people can contribute their money to. Also, be sure to update the cat's medical progress frequently and update what did you use the money for. You can also use the platform to ask people if they want to adopt the cat after that. Here's what my friend did:One of the responses he received:

How much should a full battery of tests for a sick cat cost? The vet ran a CBC blood test, a chemistry profile blood test, a T4 blood test, and a feline combo test on my cat. Is it reasonable to pay a few hundred dollars for all these?

In order to find out what’s going on with your cat — (and even people when they present with some oddball ailment) — testing is required.Especially considering that a cat cannot vocalize what he or she might think is wrong, or what symptoms they may be experiencing beyond poor appetite and lethargy, a full battery of tests really IS needed.Once kitty’s feeling better, you might want to shop another vet — i.e. call about how much basic service cost, with an eye to the future. (Or even buy pet insurance.)For example, I used to take members of my furmily to a very highly rated vet hospital. They had a beautiful office and three vets. However, the cost just to come through the door was $100 or better. Then a friend mentioned a new-ish vet, MUCH closer to my neighborhood than the other vet. This vet’s office was on a main thoroughfare, so parking was a pain. The office, while not shabby or dirty, didn’t have the sparkle of the other place. But basic exams were $30 (a steep drop from $100+), and I found the care given my animals was just as good as what I experienced at the far more expensive veterinary practice.

How much does a vet cost? for a cat with broken leg?

It depends on the severity of the break. Call the vet and take her in...most offices will work out a payment plan for you. It is illegal to not take her to the vet just so you know...you can be arrested for not taking proper care of your cat. I understand what it's like to be broke but legally and morally you must take the kitty to the vet. Good luck!
