How Much Would It Cost Me For A Repairman To Fix My Tv

Any tv repair shops close?

best thing you can do, is go to the website of phillips. go to the repair section, type in your zip code and they will give you a list of repaired shops which they recommended.
if you can not afford to buy a new tv, this is the best thing you can do. because if i were you i would rather take it somewhere where they will do a good job, give me a guarantee on it then go somewhere cheap, after a few days, it stops working and then you are back to square one.

also see the manufacturer paperwork on it. if it is only two years old, it might still have factory warranty on it.

How do I repair my TV screen?

Disassemble television.Remove the broken screen.Install replacement screen.Reassemble the television.Do you believe all Televisions are exactly the same?  If so, you are mistaken.  For example, is your television a flat panel TV, or is it a tube TV?  Don't you think the specific instructions would depend on the exact make and model of television?  Are you going to ask where you can get the screen?  Wouldn't that depend on the specific make and model of the TV?  Are you going to ask how much the replacement screen would cost?  Wouldn't that depend on the specific make and model of the TV?Are you noticing a pattern here? You asked an extremely generic question with no specific details, so you got some very generic instructions.Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't even make the attempt... based on the fact that it didn't occur to you to supply specifics that would enable you to actually get assistance.  To me, from what I've learned over the years with assisting people, that's a clear cut sign they don't actually have the diagnostic skills to do their own repairs.  If they hit a snag in the process, they are unable to overcome it by themselves.  They need someone to hold their hand through every step of the process.  They are unable to look up information that they need, because they cannot even wrap their mind around what they should look up.Just because you can't afford to get it repaired by a professional, doesn't automatically mean you should BE ABLE to repair it yourself.  I realize you don't think this should be all that difficult.  So here is what you do.You go on YouTube, and you search for videos on repairing your make and model of TV.  If there are any, you may have a guide you can follow along with.  That's probably your best chance if you aren't going to get it repaired.

What is the average cost of TV repair service?

While the cost of TVs has gotten lower and lower, the cost of repairing a TV can be extremely high, depending on the severity of the problem. Labor fees contribute to the bottom line on repairs, as technicians need to be up to speed on the latest TV models. The decision to repair or replace a TV can be a difficult one, especially if you really like your TV.Size and Model MatterTV repair costs will vary by location and the type of repair shop you contract to do the repairs. The size and type of TV you have will also factor in, with TVs 42" and up triggering the first price bump. There may be additional charges for plasma or LCD or LED models, but this is unusual. Older analog TVs, on the other hand, may also cost you more just because parts are getting harder to come by. If you own an analog TV, it might be better to just get a new TV and forgo repairs.In-Home ServiceThe days of a TV repairman coming to your house and swapping out a few tubes are long gone. You can still get in-home service, but it's very expensive, unless it's included in an extended service plan you may have purchased when you bought your TV. Of course the extended service plan also adds to the overall cost of your TV.

Should I repair or replace my current TV?

Amazing TV Repair - Using a Hair Dryer - Interesting!A friend of mine told me that his 2 year old 55 inch TV had quit working and he took it to a repair shop. After several days they told him that it needed 2 new boards and the cost would be around $500. He said no thanks, so he took it home, stored it and went out and bought a new TV. I like to dabble with electronics, so about a year later I asked him what ever happened to it. He said he had moved and left but thought it was still just sitting there where he had left it. A couple of days later he brought it to me. I started on it right away. In short time I concluded that the problem was on one board and narrowed it down to one tiny little chip. It is the rectangular black chip with 8 soldered legs right in the center of the picture. It is much smaller than it looks, about an 1/8 of an inch or about the size of a BB . After investigation I found that that there was also another solder point between the chip and the board. My initial thought was I can't fix this, these are soldered in a factory with high tech equipment. After some serious reading, I found that I could use a HAIR DRYER to heat the board and remove the chip with some tweezers. That would only solve half of the problem, somehow I needed to get it a new chip soldered back in it's place. After some more investigation I found some thing called flow solder, never heard of it before. So I watched someone flow solder a chip, it looked do-able. Once you get the old chip off, you have to clean the place where the new chip is going which is exactly where the old one came off. You smear the flow solder over the area ( it's liquid ) and place the new chip exactly where it goes. Then you take the hair dryer and shoot straight down on the chip. If you get any side wind you could blow other chips out of place. You have to be very careful. Just keep the heat on it, and all of a sudden the solder will flow right up the legs of the chip with perfection. It was amazing to watch! It looked just like the original chip had not been moved and the flow solder also soldered the contact on the underside of the chip. It was perfect, I was amazed! Put the board back in the TV and Presto, perfect TV! The best part is that the new chip only cost $1.50 - now isn't that amazing!

How much does it cost to fix a cracked plasma screen?

We repair televisions, and rarely do we find it worth it to replace the screen on a television.Instead, we usually offer to purchase the television from the customer at around 50 bucksThen we resell the parts on ebay.I'd suggest you either sell the TV to someone like us, sell it on a facebook group like our national group HERE.Or take the television apart and do what we do- sell the replacement parts.I will say this- it can take some time for the parts to sell, but eventually- they will. Here is a partial list of what we are selling from a Samsung with a cracked screen:Samsung power board $65Samsung main board $50Samsung BN96 32113E 6OHM 10W Set of L R Speakers for UN58H5202AFXZA $25mount base with Neck pedestal $25Remote- $10and there are a few other things you can sell, but, as you can see, you're not going to get more than 2-300 for, what was, in this case a $1,500 television. If you need replacement parts for a television, or if you'd like to sell us yours, check out our facebook page… Buy Sell Computer Parts Components Electronics Television parts TV Boards

Why is it so expensive to get a TV repair?

TVs only have a handful of parts now, they are very highly integrated, a service technician might be able to do basic repairs on the power supply or fix a switch but anything more than that requires manufacturer specific spare parts and those are difficult to get.Keeping a spare parts inventory for every TV model you've ever sold for five years is impractical and the storage cost inflates the price substantially. Then you have to pay someone with skill to repair the devices and that will cost money. If the TV's panel is broken then forget it, this is 90+% of the value of the TV and because the repair house is buying just a handful of panels they don't get any economies of scale to keep prices down. There is a big difference when you buy a container load of panels vs a handful. You used to be able to repair most electronics because they weren't highly integrated and when they broke a component was often obviously burnt out. That doesn't happen so often these days. Changing an HDMI connector because it is mechanically broken is relatively easy, not much more is practical.

How can I repair my Samsung flat screen TV?

If you have a broken LCD LED TV Screen that has any type of damage such as lines running vertically, spots or patches, cracks or breaks, this page will give you tips to get it fixed. Many TV’s nowadays (Plasma, LCD, LED) are large and delicate. If a large flat screen TV is not attached to a wall, it has a higher chance of falling over and cracking the screen. If your flat screen LCD TV has fallen over, most likely the screen has taken a hit.If your TV does not have a cracked screen and the problem has just appeared on its own, you may be able to fall back on the TV manufacturer’s warranty. If your TV screen has developed spots, vertical lines, small dots, unusually bright pixels, fading, distorted shading, or color issues, you may be able to use the warranty.Repairing a Broken Flat Screen TVIf you are going to be repairing a flat screen TV there are certain problems you may encounter. The most likely issues on broken TV’s will be a cracked screen, picture lines or black spots, or image distortion problems. If the damage to the screen has NOT gone past the screen, and has NOT gone into the LCD, LED, or Plasma behind the screen, then fixing the flat screen TV is going to be possible if you get the parts you need cheap. If your TV screen is severely cracked and the damage has penetrated beyond that, then it is deep enough to have damaged the LCD, LED or Plasma. If this is your case, then it may cost more to repair your TV than to replace it.

Any one know about repair costs on a single rowing shell?

My son (14) loves crew but they had too many kids this season and ended up 'cutting' a few of them. He would probably be able to go back to it in the fall but I really don't want him sitting at home playing video games, watching TV, etc all spring and summer. So, I have been looking for a single rowing shell that is priced reasonably (few hundred $) that I could get for him.

I found one but it has a couple of cracks in the fiberglass. From what the owner tells me, it is usable etc and could be repaired by someone who knows how to do it or professionally. However, I do not know ANYTHING about this and was hoping someone here may be able to give me some good advice on this matter.

Are Fiberglass cracks in these shells fixable?

Are repair costs high?

What is a reasonable price for a single rowing shell?

Is there a specific site in the Northeast where I could fine one - if this one is no good - would be appreciated.

Appreciate if someone could write me: ahyat@sbcglobal.net.
