I don't know if it's changed or not, but my mom was 16 when she work at the Macy's in downtown Atlanta, GA. but that was back in 1972. But, I don't think Macy's minimum employment age has changed since 1972.

Macy's is a good place to work because of the people there. The people you will work with come from different walks of life and varying work backgrounds. The vets who have been there for years are good at helping new people find their footing and learn things quickly. The employee discount is good too, 20% off everything. You get rewards for opening credits, either extra discounts on items or cash in hand depending on how many you've opened for the month. There's always coupons for people with a Macy's card and most weekends will have a coupon or code for anyone to use.There are some drawbacks too though. You start off with 10 attendance credits. Every time you're more than 10 minutes late, you lose 1/2 a credit, calling out is a full credit. This is doubled on the weekends. Some people get extremely competitive over opening credits, to the point where they give wrong information to customers. The employee discount only works when using a Macy's card. When you're hired, you're either given a Macy's credit card or a prepaid card that you have to load before making purchases. Be prepared for customers to get mad about the coupons. They don't work on everything, and it seems like there's more items/brands they don't work on than there are that will take it. Home items that do accept the coupons run them as less (i.e. a 20% coupon only does 15% on home items).

You don’t get it online. Macy’s will mail it to you by February 1, if they have your current address. If they don’t, call them and give it to them and they’ll make sure they send it to you. Trust me, they not only are required by law to send it to you, they WANT to do so (otherwise they couldn’t write off their expenses for what they paid you and for their match of your Social Security and Medicare withholdings).If you don’t have your W-2 from them by Valentine’s Day, you’ll need to call them to get it or you won’t be able to file your taxes.Happy tax season!

Does anyone know what working in Women's Shoes at Macys entails?
I know a little as I was just hired by Macys West. The shoe dept is a base pay plus commissions (its 1% where I work). (I am not in shoes but my base is $9.00). You do need to do some tidying but there are people who do the heavy stocking. The hours are all over the map, and they rotate--but you have to work 3 weekends out of four (at my store), and can not take vacation any time after November (because of the holiday crush). Also you are required to open 2 new Macy's credit accounts a week/shift. It seems everyone I spoke with likes working at Macys. You get some pretty hefty discounts as well as 10% at Bloomies. They do train you & pay for the training as well. Good luck
Macys credit card!?
so i am 18 years old and i recently applied for a macys card.. they definetly sent me a letter in the mail declining me of the card. They said it was because i provided "Invalid information" do you think they are lying to me? this would have been my first card ever...and i dont have a cell phone neither..meaning i never put a phone under my name..and paid any type of bill on my own. I am trying to build my credit up and i was gonna use the card a couple of times and pay them back with no issue....but how can i if i was declined of a macys card!? I never knew that this could happen.
