that was the same problem with me but my room has a carpet and a tv in it. What my room looked like befor: - plain - emplty space - ugly - cheap - un-organised After i decorated it: - Sweet - New - Fresh - Stunning - Organised - Filled with stuff! Heres what i did: 1. i took everything out exept my T.V, Bed and closet, 2: i painted my room, but in ur case, you can get ur paintings and you know, put the paintings on the wall maybe as the first letter of ur name? 3. i brought some new furniture, but in ur cases, you can get some furniture from your attic or basment of furniture that no one uses in the house and if youu get permission then you can decorate it if its old and if its wooden? 4. i brought a book shelf, but in ur cases you can decorate your (half) book shelf and stack some books on it? 5. (for you) you could buy a cheap table maybe from the charity shop? (Trust me they sell better things thats what iv heard but iv never been in side one?! :I) 6. i brought a sign for my room saying keep out, but in ur cases you could maybe buy some card board paper or simple card board and decorate it with feltip pens and glitter saying???? "---------`s room! Please knock and STAY OUT! :D" 7. buy some more rugs, or ask if there are any spare to your parents or again buy it from the charity shop. 8. decorate your window by putting, maybe your best perfume and surrounding it by flowers or maybe a fruit bowl, Ect. 9: buy some paintings and put it on a spare place on your wall (i have a huge painting in my room its of three birds its SOO cool it fills up the whole wall though! but its great!) 10. get some spare cusions from somewhere and put your cusions in a way that they look funky cool and new! I would go for a nice burgardy colour. Maybe put a few burgandy cushions on the furniture and mayble pillow cases on the pillows. You can also go for a rich red like scarlet or wine. You can also put a valance of your choice of red over the yellow curtain...maybe even curtain tie-backs.
