How Should I Hand In My Application At Burger King

Should I eat McDonald's or Burger King?

This is a tough question that I’ve often struggled with.BurgersThis depends on the day. A perfect whopper tends to be a better tasting hamburger than a perfect quarter pounder. The good thing about McDonald’s is consistency. A quarter pounder almost always tastes the same.A major screw up with the quarter pounder is an uneven distribution of pickles. It’s infuriating when 5 pickles are stacked on top of each other and I have to place them evenly across the bun.See those stacked pickles? Inexcusable!Furthermore, large onion chunks are gross and must be removed. If I have to remove them I am frustrated. I like 1-inch long onion pieces that are evenly distributed across the bun. See that rogue onion chunk below. The whopper does a good job with their pickles and onions. Also, mayonnaise is a big deal. The whopper uses mayo and I like that. They also use a decent amount of ketchup and mustard. Finally, the whopper beef tastes a bit better.I rank the whopper as the better burger but it lacks consistency.FriesThis one is easy. McDonald’s fries are the bomb. Best fast food fries on the market.CondimentsMcDonald’s has a secret weapon.Hmmm, it contains egg? Didn’t know that.Anyway, hot mustard on warm fries is delicious. It also compliments the hot n spicy chicken sandwich.Easy win for McDonald’s.Coca-ColaHands down McDonald’s. Mcdonalds orders their Coca-Cola in metal containers or something. This preserves the freshness and crispness of the Cola, I assume. My wife is a coke aficionado. If I buy her a bottled coke and take the first sip she gets pissed. She thinks the first sip of coke is the best tasting in flavor and crisp refreshment, whatever that means.Seasonal OfferingsHere we have the Burger King chicken fries vs the McRib. This is not a fair fight. The McRib takes me back to the 80s when I had my first one. Now, the McRib sure as hell doesn’t look like it’s advertised but it’s damn good. And sure, I have no idea what kind of meat that is but it’s a tasty sandwich. Truthfully, I’m not even sure that is real meat but whatever.ChampionI’m going with McDonald’s. The whopper is superior but everything else at Burger King sucks. Plus, McDonald’s just has better commercials and the filet o fish with extra tartar sauce is fun, once or twice a year.

Applying for Burger King?

This may not answer your direct question, but I believe it is good advice for anyone who is looking for a job. One thing that job seekers seem not to know or forget is that all employers are looking for a certain type of worker. They are looking for an honest, hard working, fairly intelligent and dependable employee. They are also looking for a person who can get along with the public and other employees. If you don’t have every one of those characteristics, your chances are slim and none to get and hang onto a job.

Always think about who you would like to hire if you were looking for an employee. Would you hire you? Look at yourself at the way you walk, talk, dress and even write. (Have someone proofread your application before turning it in. Fill it out in pencil first, then erase and use ink) Are you a dependable employee? If you were to be asked that question, how would you answer? Would you want you out on the firing line talking to customers? Why? You would want the best person talking to your customers, wouldn’t you? Are you the best person? Why?

Your wants, needs and desires are not really important to a business owner. Stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about how you could improve the business you want to work for. Put yourself in the driver’s seat and let the interviewer know who you are and what you can do for them. Somehow let them know that you are their best choice from all the others that are applying for the job.

If you really want to get hired, you should be camping out at the nearest library reading every job hunting book you can get your hands on. These books are a great help. Read them several times. It has been said that getting the job is harder than the job itself—so you need to be PREPARED.

Do I have a chance at getting hired at Burger King?

I want to take this in a different direction. I worked at BK when I was 16. If it taught me anything, it taught me to get a freaking education so I never have to work there as an adult. After school, after football practice, I’d drive to BK and do my shift (closing) so I’d get home about 1:30 to 2AM. My friends were at home studying. I was flipping burgers and cleaning that impossible broiler for minimum wage. Here’s my advice. I admire your desire, but don’t do it. Don’t trade your study hours for minimum wage. Study. Get the best grades you can. Apply your work ethic toward your education. Get into college. Take out loans if you have to. Then, you will have a life of prosperity.Don’t work for minimum wage at 16, struggle on tests and end up sacrificing your chances for college.I was fortunate. Military, which then paid for college. It took me longer than my peers, but I got that degree. Looking back on my 16 to 18 life, that little money didn’t actually do anything for me long term.

A question about overtime pay at Burger King?

I'm a 17 year old high school graduate. I am a "team member" at Burger King. When applying, I left my availability blank because I'm flexible. Now, I'm working over 40 hours a week. Am I entitled to receiving overtime pay? Thank you so much

Should I fill out the job applications in the store?

Well, I know when I filled out an application online for Burger King, they called me right after for an interview (but obviously, it doesn't always work that way). Although, I do find places like Burger King and other fast food (like a pizza place I also worked for) tend to hire people pretty fast (granted they need workers----which they often do--as these place have a high turn-over rate).

It really depends on you. If you're not comfortable (and don't absolutely need a job right away) then I wouldn't worry much about filling out the application forms while you're there or asking to talk to a manager. But if you wish or have to do so, if you do get to talk to the manager, tell them that you were wondering if they were looking for any workers right now. If they say no, then give them you're application and tell them that you would be happy to work should any positions become open (specify which positions if you have preferences).

Just remember that more often then not you will not be able to see a manager right away---so ask when it would be a good time to catch one.

Also consider filling online applications when you can (like me, you may get called pretty fast doing it this way---+ you say yourself a lot of hassle).
