How Should I Write A Polite And Formal Email To My Professor To Express How Sorry I Am

How can I write an e-mail requesting a makeup test to a professor?

Ok, something like this. I’d say it’s 50/50. But it doesn't hurt to ask, no decent teacher gets upset over a polite request. Also, no details about why you missed the test. Maybe a 2 or 3 word phrase like “family emergency” “sickness” “medical problem” Never tell them your grandma died. If they want specifics to make their decision they will ask. And whatever and however they respond, your reply should be “I understand. Thank you.” Last, you’d be better off asking in-person in office hours. It’s simply harder to say no to a person in the room with you than to an email.Dear Professor X,I missed our test in {class name] on {date} due to a [family emergency]. I’m dedicated to doing well in your class, and would very much appreciate the opportunity to makeup the test at your convenience. Thank you very much and I look forward to talking with you.Best,[you]

So my professor emailed saying she is sick and tomorrows class is canceled.
I'm going to email her:
Hi Mrs. .....
Sorry to hear that you aren’t feeling well.
Hope you feel better soon and we see you next week in class.
Regards,

She knows me pretty well and we've had a lot of correspondence before, but Ive never sent a "get well soon" email to a professor before haha!

How do I tell my college professor I dropped his class?

Ok, so I'm 18 years old and currently attending community college. I dropped a small business marketing class after 1 day. I realized that it was irrelevant to what I actually wanted to do and it wasn't even required toward a degree in communications (what I'm thinking of majoring in). It just seemed that I didn't belong in the class. So I dropped the class after a few days of thinking it over and got most of my money refunded. So now I think it would be right to email my teacher and tell him the news. I want a good DIFFERENT excuse as to why I had to drop his class and one that's not too personal. I'm thinking something towards work because he knows I have a job. What do you think I should tell him in my email? And please, no "the truth will set you free" preaching. The man doesn't know me and doesn't give a rat's *** whether I was in his class or not.

I need to quit a tutoring job. How to politely phrase my email?

Here's what's going on: one of my professors has hired me to tutor her granddaughter for the ACT. I'm extremely flattered that she asked me to do it and the job is fine. However, I'm having some real challenges in a couple of my own classes this semester (calculus and physics) and the tutoring is taking too much time from my own studies. I feel super awkward quitting, but I need to do it so that my own grades don't suffer, and I'd really rather not quit in person. How do I phrase this email to my professor? Awkward awkward awkward. :(
