How To Activate Whatsapp On New Device In A Foreign Country

Can I retrieve my WhatsApp account in my new Android phone if I have lost the SIM card used to create the WhatsApp account?

Thank you for your question. As part of WhatsApp’s security measures, your phone number is used instead of a username and a password to ensure that only you can access your WhatsApp data. Even if you tried to install WhatsApp with the same number on 2 or more devices, the app will ask you to choose only one device and will block the others. The way Google Drive backups work is the same. Although the backup files are registered on your Google account, they can only work with your (old) SIM number; thus, your new number won’t get the data. To avoid this in the future, it is better if you open the settings and change the WhatsApp number to your new number ,so your messages will transfer to the new number. None of your data will be lost, and you can cancel your old number without any issues. Now back to your question, what can you do now? First, try to call your old number to see if someone new got the number since telecom companies recycle old unused numbers. If someone replies, tell them the truth try to win their trust and use the SMS message to activate the account. Then change the WhatsApp number to your new number and thank them. If you are lucky enough that you called your old number and found it out of service (which means it was not used again yet), go to your old number telecom company and request the same phone number so that you can return your data. If you feel hesitant about the last options, you can ask your friends to email you the whole chat history but still you will start all a new.I hope this answers your question. If you find the answer useful, please upvote it. Thank you.

What will happen to my WhatsApp if I deactivated the SIM no. it was initially registered with and inserted a new SIM in the same device? Will I need to register with the new number?

Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!! Literally nothing. You can continue to use whats app on the previously registered No. , with the new SIM, on the same device like nothings changed. The problem arises only if:1. You register a new Whats App account with the new number and on the same device, in which case you loose your previous account with no way to get it back as Whats App requires you to enter a one time password to verify your No. and the one time password is going to be sent via text Msg. to the No. you deactivated.2. Worst case scenario, the No. you deactivated gets put back into the system after a couple of months and someone else registers their Whats App account with your old No. In this case you automatically get logged out of your account and cannot use Whats App on your previous No. ever again. There are of course ways of navigating around both the above mentioned scenarios but ill be writing a thesis if i get into that. Gps device for tracking wife's whereabouts while she's gone driving?

Hello I am interested in a GPS Device that will allow me to install it on the car so I can log onto a website and find out the specific location of the car while my wife is driving it! I am sort of suspecting her of doing stuff, but just was wondering what is the best equipment out there that will let me log onto a website so I can see where the vehicle is going, or what street it's on? Is there anything like that out there? Please someone let me know, thanks in advance! Real time stuff only! Not delayed tracking please!

I’m going to another country and won't have access to my phone number. How can I receive 2-step verification codes for my Google, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and Viber accounts?

Definitely take a page out of these answers here! Disabling two-step-verification is a simple process and shouldn’t take up much of your time. If, however, you’re worried about your account security so much that you can’t or you just don’t want to disable it, then you should also be able to change the number you’re using for these accounts.Just do it while you’re still in your own country/city/town where you can use your “main” number, and change it to a virtual number that you can buy for the country you’re going to. There are plenty of providers out there that you can find with a quick Google search, and some of them might even have sales going on.

Can you keep the old Whatsapp number on a phone without the old SIM card?

Yes.I have this whatsapp account from a sim card which was canceled about a year ago. Until somebody goes gets that number from the network provider and activates the whatsapp, I will use it. I can even move this whatsapp account from one phone to another one, and from that phone to the tablet and from tablet to my laptop and use it on my laptop, without needing to activate anything. So, I don’t need the sim card either.Let me tell you how to do it.Because that whatsapp account was activated about a year ago and because all my Android gadgets are rooted: First I install whatsapp onto the phone which I am going to transfer whatsapp account to . Then I open the app called Root Explorer on the phone which has the activated whatsapp. I go to directory called /data/data/ and find the folder called com.whatsapp, then I move that folder to Ext SD card. Take the Micro SD card out and put it on the other phone, then I just move the folder to the /data/data directory. That’s all. You just need to make sure the whatsapp app’s version numbers are exactly same. Then restart your phone. Voila!… You just moved your whatsapp account to another phone. If you want you can copy and keep a backup of it. Every time I flash a new rom, I activate my account like this, instead of waiting for a message etc…You can move it to your laptop as well. All you need is a program called Bluestacks, which is basically Android for your PC. I have a rooted version of Android OS 4.4.2 installed on my laptop at the moment. I just do exactly the same thing on the laptop, to move the whatsapp account…PS: Once, I moved the whatsapp account to Galaxy Camera 2, which doesn’t even have sim card slot… Yeah, the laptop doesn’t have it either…PS2: If you try to activate that account which you don’t have the sim card anymore, there is no way to activate it… It will be gone forever. Actually until you get the sim card with the same number again…Bye…
