How To Ask My Dad For A Nose Piercing

My dad won’t let me get a nose piercing because he thinks that I just want it for attention. What can I do?

You can fight him “tooth and nail” and worsen your relationship or you can choose you battles carefully and save your energy for the really important stuff coming up in your life. I'm not saying one of you is right and the other wrong. Try to understand his point of view. Find out his reasons without arguing about them. Then, if it is really important to you (and not something you're doing for someone else), plan. Gather facts to bolster your side of the story and when you think you have a strong case, ask him for a few minutes of his time and lay out your reasoning. It will help if you ask him not to comment during your talk. It will help even more if you tell him you do not want an immediate answer. That you want him to think it over and get back to you the next day. Then, if a miracle occurs and he says it's OK, pay for everything yourself to demonstrate your maturity. If the plan fails, welcome to the world of grownups where life is full of highs and lows and successes and failures. Most of all, stay strong and live to fight another day.

My parents won't let me get a nose piercing?

I'm 15 and lately I've been wanting a nose piercing. I just asked my mom for the first time and she told me no and went on this big whole rant about some stupid spiritual stuff on why I can't get one. I think her reason is so stupid though because she doesn't even have a religion but has the audacity to say I shouldn't be altering myself cause this is all just my "personality".

sometimes their explanations for why i shouldn't get things makes me so mad. but anyway, bottom line is that she said don't ask her again so how can i convince my parents to let me get a nose piercing? I really don't want to wait 3 long years.

How to convince parents to get a nose piercing?

I'm 17 and a girl. I turn 18 In December. I really wanna get a nose piercing and at my work we are allowed to have piercings. Well, my parents said no. I'm a junior in HS and I see all these friggin 8th graders with lip and nose piercings. How can I convince my parents to get just a small diamond on the side of my nose? Can I sneak into a piercing shop and get a piercing without my parents knowing? Plz help

How to convince parents to let me get nose piercing?

I am a 16 year old girl, no piercings but my first ear lobe piercings when i was in the 3rd grade. I want this nose piercing so bad! Not because I think it will make me look "tough" or stupid crap like that, but because I think they are so pretty! But, I want a hoop. I don't do drugs, alcohol, sex, or anything behind my parents back. I make A's and B's with my first C last year. I am a very good daughter, but I've asked my parents before if I could get one they simply say no. I really want one soon before school starts! Any ways to make my parents know I'm being serious about it and show them how badly I want one?

How do i convince my parents into letting me get my nose pierced?

im 14 years old. and ive really wanted this for sometime now. i asked my mom about two weeks ago..maybe one week...and she said no. i asked her why specifically and she said that im too young, im going to turn into an "emo/scene/punk" kid or whatever you wanna call it. she also said that if i get the nose ring, guys will think im easy.

wtf? guys will think im easy?
um... how is a piercing going to make guys think that your easy?
yeahh...
and also im not a "emo/scene/punk" kid and i dont have any intentions to be one. maybe my mom thinks that i'll turn into one because i listen to rock music and "screamo" but seriously, i have no intentions to be "emo/scene".
and the being too young thing, dude, we're only 14 once in our lives.
and also im a good kid, i dont get in trouble, and i get good grades.
my worst grade at the moment is a B-

i thought about negotiating with my mom like, if i can get that B- into an A i could get my nose pierced. i hoped it would work.

i brought it up to her about half an hour ago. and at first she said no, then she told me to ask my dad.

i went to my dad and he said no.
he said that im too young ...blahh blah blahhh...
and that i wouldnt look good with one, which i know he's only saying so that i dont get it pierced.

but i seriosly reallly want this. im even thinking about just doing it myself or having my friend do it regardless of what my parents say.
after all, it is easier to ask for forgivness than permission. ahaaha.

but seriously....help me please?
how can i convince them?

Convince parents to let me pierce my nose?

I have very religious parents and could really use some help with ways to convince them to get this done.

I've already asked them once,
but it was right after they found out my friend got hers pierced so they think thats the reason I want mine pierced.
Its not. I've wanted mine done for about two years now, I told my friend that I wanted it done and was just waiting to ask my parents at the right time/in the right way, well after I tell her all this, she goes and gets hers done.

Anyway, after I asked my parents, they said something to the effect of, "You're in our house, and you're going to live by our rules." When I asked why they were against it, they said something like, "Infections can't be fun." I told them, "The chance of infection isn't very high if you take care of it, my ears never got infected." I got this as a reply to that, "Higher than if you don't get it done." Later that evening I showed them a Bible verse in Ezekiel about the Lord putting a ring in someone's nose and my dad said, "Thats description, not prescription." I asked him what he meant by that and he said, "It's not telling you 'go do this' its just describing something that happened." so then I said, "Its not telling you not to.." and he said, "No. End of discussion."

Now that I've sort of "opened them up" to the idea, (believe me, that no was not a definite no.) I'd love some ideas to convince them.

I'm sixteen by the way and am very sure I want this done, and please don't tell me to just wait until I move out, I'm already aware of this option and I'm not very fond of it.
