How To Ask People To Bring A Present To Your Birthday Party

Would you ask someone to bring a cake to your birthday party that your having?

I'm sorry but I don't think its rude. First of all, how good of friends are you? You're travelling 2 hours to come to her party, so you must be really good friends. If that's the case then, why would you mind getting a birthday cake for someone you care about? So what if you're travelling 2 hours. I brought 3 cakes from where I live to my dad's birthday party (7 hour trip) I did it cause I love him and it never occurred to me that I wouldn't want to do this.

Now, if this is just a fair weather friend. Someone whom you really aren't that close. Okay, I guess it's a little rude... maybe. But who cares, it's her birthday and she asked you to do this one little thing for her party. It's supposed to be bad luck to buy your own cake. Maybe she's superstitious.

I say, just do it and stop complaining about it. At least she didn't ask you to bring the booze.

A nice way to ask people to bring a gift to a party?

me and my friend are having a HUGE party for our 14th. since its going to be a little bit expensive, our parents said that the party is our only present. but, we both need some new clothes that fit us better. is there a polite way to ask people to please bring a gift?

Do you bring gifts when you go to birthday parties?

My son just had a birthday party recently. We rented a room at a play place, got a cake and pizza.First of all most of the guest showed up late, for no good reason. That really pissed me off,and none of them brought gifts. My sister,my mom and I were the only ones who got my child gifts. He got 3 gifts total, despite there being 4 other adults there and about 10 kids.I just don't understand how people can come to a birthday party and not bring anything.I mean I'm not saying it had to be something expensive, but I always bring something when I go to people's birthday parties, even if its just a little something. Why do people do this?Next time I will probably only invite people who I believe will actually bring gifts or a card or something, and not show up late.

Is it rude to go to a birthday party and not bring a gift?

ok so, i just recently had a birthday party. my family paid for the expenses of the party, food for everyone, etc. and it wasn't cheap. i had some friends show up with no gift, not even a card. i know this sounds really really shallow, but isn't that rude?! they ate our food, we paid for them to go out with me. also, if one girl said she forgot hers but never gave the gift to me, how can i politely ask for it? i really don't wanna be like"where's my gift!" but honestly, they expect me to go to their parties and buy them gifts, they need to do the same in return. so how can i politely bring this up with them??

How to ask ppl to bring alcohol to a bday party without being rude?

I'm throwing a party for my 21st birthday. I booked a really nice suite at the planet hollywood and pated extra in order for them to let me throw a small get together I am buying beer and bottles but throwing this party is digging a bigger hole in my wallet then i expected and I just don't want to run out of beer or anything. Is there anyway I can ask people (friends i know personally) attending my party to bring beer or a bottle with out being rude ?

How do I imply to bring presents to a party without sounding selfish?

Depending what kind of party it is. If its just a normal get together you could say its a present party where everyone will play hot potato with the presents and whoever it lands on get to keep the present. If it's a b-day party then it shouldn't be a problem. If you want them to bring the presents to donate to the the needy then thats a great idea. If you want the presents for yourself when there is no x-mas or b-day or the like then you could just say it would be a fun idea to do a present exchange. But it would b pretty selfish if you want people to bring you presents fo no reason. Having a dinner party where people bring food is acceptable tho.
