How To Avoid Bad Food In America And Canada

How much pro-US must Canada be in order to avoid American meddling aiming to topple the government, like scenarios with Venezuela and other countries?

We BOTH meddle in each others elections and political agendas… That is what LOBBY groups do… Big US lobbies are always trying to push stuff through… The US government is always threatening to change the treaties and impose tariffs to make us lean over backwards and get concessions or pay with our economy. And as for Canada… When Trump decided that he didn’t like us as trading partners and imposed all of those tariffs… We did the same. Except we targeted our trade barriers to states that we could influence in the upcoming election… And it worked… Those northern states that we hit with embargoes and raises all voted against Trump and blamed him for their job losses… Result… Enough momentum to get a Democratic house… I’m not just saying that… I watched an interview with a Canadian Foreign Affairs officer who described it all and some other stuff on news outlets…We ALL as countries spy on and try to influence other countries to better our own. Even our friends and allies… Snowden made sure EVERYBODY found out about that!!! The USA has been spying and using that influence to shape relationships to their advantage since forever…But in Canada, a toppling of government just means that another one that wont be too far off policy wise will take its place… Not really a huge national trauma… Just another expensive, boring election…

Difference between Canadian Milk and American Milk?

First of all our milk in Canada is different, there is no hormones, BGHr used, they are not kept in as small a space, our breeds to are more varied, Guernsey, Holstein, Frieshan and even a few Markell from Switzerland, I was chef for many years here in Canada, worked in all but 3 province and 2 territories, the milk here can vary only in the fact the grasses they feed on are different, in the winter dairy cows eat a hay, alfalfa and fodder based diet so the milk is creamier in the grazing months.

Is Samuel Adams a good beer? Is Molson Canadian a good beer? Which one is better?

I presume you are talking about Sam Adams Boston Lager, right? There are dozens of different Sam Adams beers.

Have not tried Molson but Boston Lager is a good beer on-tap. When I go to a restaurant, ball game or bar and all they have on-tap is bud, miller, coors, and boston lager. I always go for Boston Lager, it's just a better beer than the others I listed.

All of the beer websites have Boston Lager rated higher than Molson. For example, here are the ratings over at beeradvocate.com -

pretty big difference on this site but these two beers are not anywhere close to being the highest rated beers on the websites.

What "bad" foods did you eat while pregnant?

A couple more additions: peanuts/peanut butter if you have food allergies or asthma (risk of passing on a nut allergy), liver/pate/foie gras (excess vitamin A, could cause neural tube defects).

Personally, I think your adherence to the list depends on how scared you are, if you've had problems before, etc. I'm in the last few days of my first trimester of my first pregnancy. For the most part, I'm following the guidelines, but I slip now & then, particularly if I'm not at home. It would take a lot more caution and willpower than I'm willing to put into it to follow them to the letter. I drink a little bit of coffee (way less than I used to - guidelines are under 200 mg/day) and have an occasional diet soda (maybe 2/week, usually not caffeinated.) I've eaten feta, which is considered one of the possible listeriosis cheeses, and I had one piece of raw scallop sushi.

Most of my friends have done the same - try to follow them most of the time, but not sweat the occasional minor lapse. I do have a few friends who have miscarried in the past and they're most comfortable following everything to the letter. Remember that a lot of the things on the list are there because you could get sick from them, and you can't really take anything while you're pregnant if you do.

I think a lot of it is cultural -- I was just in Europe and when I would tell people I couldn't drink because I was pregnant, they'd be like "Oh, perhaps just a small glass of red wine?" No, thank you (at least not this early.) And Japanese women still eat sushi during their pregnancy. Just as here, most of the babies turn out just fine. Oh, and btw, in the US most soft cheeses are pasteurized, so go by what it says on the label rather than just banning them all - that's actually what the CDC recommends these days as well.

Why are african americans, canadians and europeans bad tippers?

That is the age old question in the service business!!!
No one knows.........
