How To Be A More Energetic Dancer

How can I have more energy when dancing?

Sounds like you need more stamina and endurance. This was my exact problem, but with other styles of dance too. I suggest starting to go running or at least jogging. I even jump rope and do lots of jumping jacks. Make sure to eat healthy energetic foods and keep hydrated. Over a period of time you're definitly going to start seeing results like i did. And as weird as this sounds, I plan my breathing with my dance. As in, there may be certain pauses or easy steps in the choreography allowing me to take a deep breath and regain the energy.

How do I put energy into my movement and how do I dance "to" music?

I was at my dance class and the teacher was telling us that we need to dance with more energy, but I don't understand how. She said it was deep, so I'm sure something like just dancing with a smile isn't going to cut it. I should be able to show energy in expression of anything that I want to express or that someone asks me to express. She also said that when we were improving(dance without choreography), we didn't really dance to the music she said it looked like someone just took some dancers that weren't dancing to that song and just plopped us into that song. I wasn't really feeling the song very much, but I was trying to do whatever I could do. I appreciate any answers, but I'm sure people who have more dance experience could help me the most. Thank you!

On Just dance 4 how do you get the energetic dance style?

How to last longer when shuffling (dance)?

It looks an energetic dance form. I guess you just have to build up the stamina to keep going.
I wonder if it is like running, some people are sprinters and others do better at long distance.

It could be that there are tricks and tips to help you conserve energy - like not using muscles you don't need to - sort of not being over energetic.

It's meant to be better to let your body have a recovery day - three days on, one day off etc.

Tips on herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zbh4bMK3... include not using too fast music when you start - good shoes and the floor surface are probably important. He does say something about it but then gets distracted.. I don't know if Bloch Boost DRTs are acceptable fashion wise - but they are great to dance in and help you not get so tired.

Who is a better dancer? Jolin Tsai or BoA?

Jolin Tsai is a wonderful dancer and have quick jerky movements that makes her look energetic and into it. She also dances in Real man wearing high heels.

BoA on the other hand is a very hip hop and freestyle type of dancer. In her video, I did it for Love, I was thinking, instead of wearing flat boots, what if she was wearing high heeled boots?

How can someone become more energetic?

Hey, I will tell you my story.I had huge problems with my energy levels. I was a university student doing my first year in computer science. The transition was crazy for me, it was stressful. The stress builded up and by the time my final exams came I was completely dead. Constant lack of sleep, mental fatigue, stress, low exercise, poor diet. I had it all. I started procrastinating alot and ended up dropping/failing some of my courses. I got tired of always being tired. So I did what you did, went on the internet and started asking for help. I will tell you what helped me personally.1) Changing my diet:- I cut out on sugars completely. No more pepsi/coke. No more chocolate bars, no more donuts, no energy drinks.- I lowered my consumption of meat. I used to eat meat 3 times per day.- I started fasting for one day a week. For one day I would not eat anything, only drink water.2) I exercised:- Hit the gym, 3 times per week for about 40 minutes.3) Coffee/Supplements:- While researching  the web for ways of becoming more active I found the  Bulletproof Coffee website. I have been buying his products for 2 years now and it was the best investment of money I made that actually benefited me. Oh and one more thing, If you are still in school, or your job involves a lot of learning. I recommend you a free course on coursera called "Learning how to Learn" coursera.org  I found that if I learn how to do something successfully I can cut stress and get more energy doing it.

Which form of dance would be more enjoyable to take up for exercise, bellydancing or tango?

I agree with Oktaiwian’s answer. However, it partially depends on your age and level of physical fitness. I was a belly dancer in my twenties but as a senior it no longer appealed or maybe I am no longer strong enough. However one can dance tango at any age. It gives flexibility and stamina but is not very physically demanding. You asked about enjoyment. Tango is a unique dance form, sort of a moving meditation or martial art in the form of dance. Most people who take it up become addicted differently from other dance forms. I don’t know anyone who took it up as a form of exercise though.I am familiar with some of your writing, Amy, and think tango may be a dance form that might really interest you. However, tango is a long term commitment. It ain’t like the cha cha that you learn in an hour lesson. I am writing this answer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been here for the past four months dancing tango every day. I have been dancing for nine years. I took a lesson today and am taking another one tomorrow. That is how addictive it is. So consider your goal before you start. If you are looking for exercise in dance form, I recommend bellydancing. If you are looking to satisfy your soul, I recommend tango.
