How To Be Less Squeamish Around Genitals

Why are people so open about sex but so squeamish about periods?

Everywhere I go I hear people talking about sex and yes, they may value sex differently than me, but ifn someone mentions that special time of month, everyone gets so quiet and things get awkward. People openly mention boners and boobs and all the joys of puberty, well, except for periods. What's so bad about them?

How to be less squeamish around genitals?

The penis and vagina are not going to go away, so either you grow up or you'll never be able to draw a real model without laughing at his/her genitals.
Start by using yourself as a model.
You have genitals so it's easier to adapt when you study your own body.
Do some simple poses naked in front of a large mirror (don't forget to lock the door).
Google a few artists who have paintings with lots of nudity.
Study them, and focus on more than just the genitalia.
You can also do figure drawings from pictures on http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-t...
Some are clothed, others are naked.

Genital warts, how do they look like?

so i heard genital warts appearances vary greatly. My bf has these very tiny (as tiny as dots) things very very similar to our tongue buds around his penis head, I dont exactly know how to explain the exact place. I have noticed this since the first time we had sex. I am very sure my bf does not mess around, and i asked him what are those, he said he had had those since he was 10 years when his penis foreskin got removed (you know, for the hygiene purposes they say).. Can those be genital warts???I am very very scared of getting STDs. I just got UTI, but I wanna make sure its really UTI and not STDs, doctor said they have similar symptoms...

First Pap Smear? Terrified! Squeamish!?

My doctor says I have to get my first pap smear this summer, and I'm SO SCARED!!!

First, I'm super squeamish! I passed out in health class several times when we were studying the female anatomy. I pass out when I get shots. I almost fainted when I tried to use a tampon the first time, so I can't even use them. ( sorry if that's too much info, just trying to give you all an idea)

Second, I'm not sexually active, so I'm scared it'll hurt. Terrified, actually.

And I'm not going to the gynecologist, my regular doctor is doing it (who's a woman, thank god!) And she said she can give me a pill or something to make me more relaxed, but I'm still scared. Last time I went to the doctor (not for this) the nurse was freaking out because my heart beat was so fast.

So does anyone have any advice for me? I already know what they do, I just want some advice. And to hear something that will make me feel better. And I'm 17 if anyone asks.

Tampons length is too long for me..?

What is gross about pushing a tampon in with your finger?
It's 2013 and I'm guessing if you menstruate that you're not a little girl, there's really no need for any woman to be this prudish or childish about touching their own genitals - your vagina is your own, it's cleaner than your mouth, it's not 'gross'.

Use non-applicator tampons - obviously the applicator is causing a problem here, so simply stop using tampons with applicators. Applicators serve no function but to limit contact with your genitals, non-applicators are much easier to use as they're simpler and give you better control over depth and direction, also as you can more easily feel resistance it is easier to get the tampon into place.

It is possible that you have a shorter vaginal canal, but nothing here suggests that is the case - tampons can hurt to insert as they damage vaginal tissues - if you do have a shorter vaginal canal then this could make using tampons uncomfortable and can increase risk of TSS (fibers are more likely to become lodged in your cervical opening).

Ideally you should consider menstrual cups or softcups, which are safer, more hygienic, comfortable, convenient and reliable than tampons - but as you're squeamish about your genitals I'm guessing these aren't an option for you right now. If sticking with tampons consider soft tampons such as Beppy or sponge tampons such as Jade & Pearl which are shorter and squishy so better for shorter vaginal canals, otherwise if sticking with conventional tampons opt for cotton tampons that are not of rectangular construction, I believe Cottons and Natracare would both be suitable for you.

This question is for the ladies. - How often do you go “commando” and not wear underwear?

I'm going to have to get into technical details here so I hope you're up for an actual, unsexy answer and not squeamish about lady bits. The vagina maintains its pH around 4. This kills bacteria and keeps the uterus free from infection. It does this by continually secreting an acidic mucus. Some people make more of this, some less.Your answer is “basically never” for this reason. First, it's a hygiene issue. Over the course of one day, the mucus produced will dry into a crust on any fabric it comes into contact with. Most people don't wash their jeans every day, or want to risk soiling nice garments.Second, it's a pH issue. Vaginal mucus is acidic enough to bleach dark cloth over time. You'd run the risk of ending up with a pale bleached spot on your dark trousers or skirts. It can even eat away at fabric, and over years it could cause holes and frayed seams. It's also just a comfort issue. Women's trousers aren't made with much crotch room, and mass produced garments tend to cut production time by skipping over small engineering details that would take time to sew. A lot of jeans have a sharp, serged crotch seam that can and will go right up between the labia if you don't have any intermediate layers. This is quite painful.

Are gay men grossed out by women?

IMHO, I think you need to define which generation you are asking. Those of us who are older gay men, we had to force ourselves to look and act straight, which meant liking women and having sex with women. Many may have deeply fallen in love with a woman, but the sex part was terrible. I speak from experience. I was married to my wife for 40 years, until her death in 2015. I loved her with all my heart, but the sex part was a disaster. We do have 2 kids and 6 grandchildren.I never cheated on her, she was my life. But honestly, my wife asked me to perform oral sex on her once, and I mean only once, I got sick. Maybe that was TMI, but it’s true.

I feel sick|faint when I finger myself or put pressure on my vagina?

The only way I have mastubated before is on my clitorus and I don't really know how to explain it but whatever. I tried fingering myself earlier but I stuck the finger in not that far and for barely any time and took it out again. I was sitting down at the time and I stood up and felt sick and dizzy. I had to lie down for a bit. I also felt this way when I first tried to put a tampon in. I got it the second time but I barely wear them cause I had putting them in. I'm a virgin and I'm really scared that I'll feel faint during sex. I used to feel faint|sick at blood when I was younger but I thought I had gotten over that. I don't like listening to people talk about STIs or graphic stuff about blood but I don't feel faint about it anymore. I don't know what's wrong with me. I have a boyfriend and I want to have sex with him soon but I'm really scared that I'll feel ill during it and not enjoy it. I don't know what's wrong with me. My dad used to feel sick at blood too but he managed to have me haha. I seriously don't know what to do though. Help?

How do women deal with semen after vaginal sex?

After sex, I just like to lay there with my husband for a bit.  I may leak a little, but cuddling with my husband in the afterglow is more important to me.  After a few minutes, I grab the bag of soft napkins that we use to clean up and clean up.  My husband does this as well.Semen does have a strong odor that really bothers some people.  Also, semen gets cold really quickly and then starts to feel slimy and makes the area feel kind of itchy.  I don't care when it's inside, but when it  comes out, it feels better to clean up.  And there's no way I'm going to go to sleep like that.I have no problem with semen.  I find it rather sexy and the evidence of our passion for each other.
