How To Block Parents On Facebook

Help with blocking parents on facebook?

You can remove them from your friends list, and lock down your facebok so only friends can see your posts.

You can also block people. I don't use facebook anymore so i don't remember, but a simple google search of "How to block people on facebook" will get you an instant answer.

Hope this helps.

Blocking parents on facebook?

You don't.

First off, not blocking them is a standard condition for most parents with regard to allowing their kids have a Facebook page.

And even if you do.....they'll just have a "spy" (maybe an older cousin, maybe any random one of the hundreds of Facebook friends you'll eventually end up with, or even a fake profile of their own) report anything objectionable you post.

Also remember that everything you put on there can be seen not just by parents, but by college admissions officers, perspective employers, pretty much anybody. It's the first thing people go look for anymore. Choose what you post wisely. Wild party pictures.....not such a good idea.

Facebook is a public site. Everything you put on there is public, regardless of what access permissions you think you have. Count on whomever you don't want to see something.....seeing it.

Your best bet is to just be sure you don't put anything on there that you're not comfortable with everyone in the world seeing, including your parents, sister, ex-boyfriend, creepy strangers whatever.

It's public. People find a way to see it if they bother to try even a little.

Good luck!

Why do my parents block Facebook if I'm 20?

Your 20 years old? Are you not in post secondary yet? If you are your parents are giving you a lesson that a good education is better then what you do all day on Facebook. If you are in desperate need off Facebook as many people said move out and get a job so you can do whatever you want to do even go through Facebook.

How do you block your parents on Facebook?

You could go into your privacy settings and customize what they can and can't see. For example, I'm friends with my mom on Facebook and I made it so she can't see my status or my pictures (i.e., pictures from my Bachelorette party).

Just go to:

Settings--->Privacy Settings-->Profile Information

From there, you can control who can see what on your profile. It also helps to make lists if there are multiple people (i.e., your entire extended family) you want to keep from checking in on your profile.

Good luck!

Do I have the right to block my parents from FaceBook?

Yeah, you have the power to block them but it probably won't prevent them from bringing it up to you. They might make you unblock them if you do and if you don't abide by their rules, they might make your disable your entire account. I would just try to deal with them. Also, how old are you? If you're over the age of 16, you're old enough to make your own decisions. Your parents can't force you to do anything.

How can I hide stuff from my parents on Facebook?

You can run but you can’t hide if you add your parents on Facebook. You can put them on limited profile but they’ll surely find a way to get onto your nerves. That being said, always remember they only do so because they love all interaction with you and attention from you! Here’s a funny take on parents on FB that you might enjoy!

Is there a way to stop my parents from finding me on Facebook?

Even if you put your account setting to friend's only, your parent will still be able to find your profile with your timeline banner image and the snippet of your profile image. What you can do is open your parent's profiles one by one and block them. If you block some one they won't find your profile ever.

If you block your parents profile they wont be able to find your profile with their own profile, but if they really want to find you, they can simply ask someone else to find it for them, someone who is not blocked by you.

How do I block my parents on Facebook w/ out deleting them?

So, my parents have been pretty unnecessarily paranoid so they got a Facebook accounts so they could basically spy on me to make sure I'm not doing anything 'bad'. I don't even do anything that anyone would consider bad, especially not on Facebook, so obviously my parents efforts are pointless. So they added me a while ago, but once I found out what they were doing, it annoyed me, so I deleted them from my friends list. Then they noticed & grounded me from Facebook until I agreed to add them back. So I did. But now they're being really uneccesarily annoying to me on Facebook (like always checking my photos, my status, my news feed stuff & sending annoying messages to me like "why don't you put a pic of so-and-so online?" or "you need to do this on your account, you need to do that). And they're being really controlling & annoying.

So how can I block them from seeing my profile, pics, etc. w/out deleting them?

My parents made me delete my Facebook so I just blocked them, but...?

My mom tried to login to my account, but I changed my password...So apparently she told a friend of hers at work to login and see if they could see my profile [to make sure I really deleted it] and she could see it, and my mom called me and told me...She was like "did you really delete it, or just block me and the rest of your family?" And I was like "I disabled it so no one can see it and I can't login." and she was like "Well my friend can see you," sooo, being retarded, I said "Well it's probably just the leftover profile that hasn't been updated." So now my mom said that when she gets home we will "look at it."
The problem is, if I DO disable my account, her friend wont be able to see my profile anymore and she'll know it wasnt disabled before. If I leave it and login, she'll see that I blocked her.
WHAT DO I DO? This is really important, they took my iPod and phone and everything else, so this is the last way for me to talk to my boyfriend! :(

Will my parents recieve a notification if i block them on facebook?

No. Anyone you block on Facebook won't see you on Facebook. Even if you do come in contact with a blocked person you will see each other as the name "Facebook User" with no profile picture.

Just make sure you set your profile to unlisted so your parents can't search for your name on Facebook or Google. All this can be done from the privacy settings.
