Switch from a Google+ profile identity to a YouTube username (Revert to username)

You can switch back from using a Google+ profile identity to a traditional YouTube username:

Make sure you're signed into YouTube, and go to YouTube account settings
In the Account Information area, click Revert to username, found next to your name.

If you had an old YouTube username: You will then be asked to confirm that you want to revert your YouTube Channel to your old username. Click Revert to username and your identity will be reset to your old username. Your old profile photo (if you had one) will be restored as well.

If you never had a YouTube-specific username: You will then be able to enter a YouTube username. Follow the instructions and then click Create Username. Your identity and Channel URL will be updated to reflect your new username, and your Google+ photo will no longer appear as your YouTube avatar.

If you later decide to restore your Google+ profile identity, you can do so by clicking Begin using my full name on YouTube in Advanced Account Settings.
As a reminder, it takes YouTube search results some time to update. If after following the steps above you don't see your new username reflected in YouTube search results, please give the changes time to work through our system.

How do you put video on your YOUTUBE channel main page?

It's actually quite simple choosing which video you'd like as the
"featured" video on your channel page:

1 -- click on "ACCOUNT", alongside the ▼ at the top of a page
(you'll get a new page with black titles and many blue subtitles)

2 -- click on "EDIT CHANNEL", the 2nd blue title to the far right
(you'll get 3 different blue subtitles, including "Channel Design")

3 -- click on "CHANNEL DESIGN"
(you'll get a new page with nine colour combinations at the top)
The very next set of parameters asks about your featured video.

4 -- click on "FEATURED VIDEO"
(the bullets immediately below will become brighter and prompt
you to choose either your most recent video or a different video)

5 -- click a BULLET
(if you choose "Video URL", you will get a new rectangular field
prompting you to copy-&-paste the complete URL of that video)

6 -- paste your VIDEO URL
(be sure to paste the whole URL, including all the "http://" stuff)

7 -- click on "UPDATE CHANNEL"
(it's on the grey stripe, just above the nine colour combinations)

If you want to double-check it for yourself, here is the complete
URL address of YouTube's "Help" reference, followed by its link:

www . google . com / support / youtube / bin / answer . py ? hl = en & answer = 97392
