Can I change the default wordpress login url (....com/wp-admin/.)?

Yes it can be done. The simplest way to do is use the hide login plugin and you are done. The plugin can be found at http://wordpress.org/extend/plug.... I would recommend backing up your wordpress installation and the database before doing anything to ensure that you can revert to the old site since the plugin rewrites .htaccess file there have been some reports of it not working properly specially if the .htaccess file already exists on your server. In case the .htaccess file exists on your server you need to know how it works for the plugin to work properly otherwise there maybe errors. If you need further assistance please leave a comment and I will try and help as much as I can. Cheers

If you have WordPress installed on your web hosting account, that's called a self-hosted WordPress blog.

WordPress.com is completely different. That's the free blogging platform and it's not even remotely related to your self-hosted blog.

1) Make sure you're logging into the correct blog.
2) Did you create the admin account with the username of "admin"? If so, you're begging to be hacked.
3) If you said yes to #2, did you set up an easy to guess password like "password, abc123, qwerty, letmein, etc"? If so, you're begging to be hacked.
4) At the login screen, use password recovery to have your password sent to you.
5) In cPanel, go to phpMyAdmin and find your database. You can click on the wp_options table and look at the siteurl to see if you have the right database, if there is more than one. Keep checking until you find the right one.
6) In the wp_options table, make sure your email address appears in admin_email. If not, you've been hacked. Edit the record by clicking on the pencil icon and change it back to your email address. Once you do that, then go back to the WordPress login screen and request the lost password. When you get the email, login and change it ASAP.
7) Now create a new user with a SECURE, HARD TO GUESS username and password and give yourself Admin privs.
8) Log out.
9) Log back in with the new user account.
10) Delete the old admin user account.
11) Install the Bad Behavior plugin and configure the options to block out failed login attempts. Be sure to exlude you own IP address.
