Yes, it's way too late to try to track it down now. Since you had no idea it had been delivered, it could have been left by your door and someone stole it. So there's no way to tell who's "to blame" for this.

When something has been scanned delivered, it's been delivered to someone and it's not going to appear magically if it wasn't delivered to you. You should keep a closer eye on the tracking status, so if this happens again you can contact the shipper the same or next day.

In any case, don't bother opening a claim against the seller. The instant the package was scanned delivered, the seller's job was complete. It is YOUR responsibility, not the seller's, to secure the package upon delivery.

What does it Mean when USPS says Delivery Status Information is not available for your item via this website?

Just a few days ago, I had a package with DC show NOTHING when I went to check its tracking #. No information for at least 3-4 days. On like the 5th or 6th day, it showed it arrived at its destination city, was scheduled for delivery and was delivered. And ALL of that appeared all at once.

Unfortunately, you can't always count on DC for tracking, since it's really not a tracking #. Its primary purpose is to show that an item's been delivered. The additional "tracking" info it provides is more or less just icing on the cake and is really optional as far as the USPS is concerned.

It's also (again, unfortunately) not 100% foolproof. But I have never had a problem with the info never showing up, at least insofar as telling me if a package has been delivered or not.

I'd be curious, though, to compare the # you have for the item you were sent vs. the # actually printed on the postage label of the item itself. Some sellers have problems printing labels and you MAY have gotten the DC# off of a problem label, but when the seller managed to generate a GOOD label maybe they didn't give you the NEW DC#.

This is also the biggest reason why when I drop off packages at the USPS office, I make sure the clerk scans each one in, right in front of me. At least I know that the packages are "in the system" and that the buyer will at least see SOMETHING when they check the DC# out on the USPS website.

To bulk edit live listings, you need to use file exchange. This is a complex tool so only use it if you have a decent knowledge of excel etc. Here are the instructions:

To bulk edit live listings to ensure they appear on eBay Express there are a few steps that you have to go through:

1. Subscribe to File Exchange - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/file_exchange/ (please check that you are eligible to use File Exchange – full details can be found on the page). File Exchange will appear in the ‘My Subscriptions’ box in ‘My eBay (see the left hand navigation bar).

2. In the Left-hand navigation bar select the link that says ‘Download Files’ within the ‘Download’ section.

3. In the Listings and records drop-down box select the ‘Active’ option, select whether you want to download all your active listings or some ending within a certain date range, then select save

4. Next select ‘Completed Downloads’ in the ‘Download’ section and wait a few minutes until the download is prepared.

5. In the results column (far right) select the ‘Download’ hyperlink – You will be prompted to save a file to your computer which contains select information about your current live listings.

6. Save the file in Microsoft Excel format and open it up in either a spreadsheet programme such as Microsoft Excel or a database programme such as Microsoft Access.

Sell an item on ebay by mostly shipping cost?

It is a legit way of avoiding insertion and sales fees. However, when I list a music item, Ebay prevents me from charging more than $4 shipping. Maybe they do that in other categories. I tried it a long time ago to list for 99 cents, and got messages from Ebay removing my listing because the Shipping Charge was excessive. I dont know if they still do that. I noticed that rug sellers put a .99 cent price then charge $200 for shipping. I guess if you have an Ebay store or do a lot of business they dont care. Ebay only charges fee on the final sales price, not on the shipping. I don't like sellers who do this because it is not honest to circumvent paying the Ebay fees when most people have to.
