Do your parents open your mail?
My dad keeps opening my mail and I tell him not to..cuz who wants to open something thats theirs but they find out its open. I mean wat the hell?. You dont see me opening their credit card bills or anything. Is there any act or something that gives individuals the right and privacy to their own mail in the US? Like im 15 but i live with my parents so are they really allowed to open my mail like that? Cuz i get prizes from gaminglagoon.com and this time im getting ram i told my dad not to open it cuz if he does it will screw up the ram if he has static on him and i told him that if he breaks it he will pay for it cuz even though i got it for free i had to work for it and complete offers to get it. I didnt just get it off the DDR2 RAM tree growing in my backyard (just an expression). The whole time i was doing gaminglagoon my dad was like "why are u doing this useless stuff?" I said cuz i want to and now he wants to open my stuff and after the stuff he said about it? I dont think so. Is there a legal act or bill that states privacy to our own indiviudals mail and postal items?

I am very mad, I live in an apartment complex and the mail carrier placed my box of personal checks that I had ordered online in the wrong mailbox, my neighbor, that I don't even know, knocked on my door today to hand me the box of checks, he said has had it for about three days, after I closed the door I realized he had opened the box, the adress label Clearly states my name and apt #, what can I do??

NAT stands for Network Address Translation, which is a *feature* of your router, not something that you can open or close. NAT allows requests received by your router over port X to be directed to Computer Y on your LAN. If your router did not have NAT technology, there would be no way for your router to tell which computer the request(s) should be sent to.

My own mother used to call and pretend she was me to get information on my finances. I finally had to call the companies and create a password before they could give out any info. You have a few options. 1. Contact your bank/employer/unemployment office, and see if they do e-statements. You won't get mail, and she won't be able to open what you don't get. Try getting your unemployment/paychecks paid w/direct deposit. 2. Have your mail sent elsewhere, like a PO box or a trusted friends house. 3. Be an adult, and move out. If you don't live there, she won't have any power over you.

Mom is opening my mail...illegal, right?
Ok, so I am 23 years old and have been in college for the past five years. I am graduating next month and my university sent a graduation letter to my parents address (they live about an hour and a half away). The letter was addressed to ME and had just MY NAME on it, and it included two letters about the graduation ceremony, such as times to be there, attire, etc. It also had a card with my name printed on it that I have to hand to someone when I walk across the stage at the ceremony so they can read my name aloud. So my little sister told me that my mother opened this piece of mail, and when I asked my sister if there was a namecard in there, she said no. I know for a fact that the card is supposed to be in there because my friend who is also graduating got the same exact letter in the mail yesterday. So my question is: how can I tell my mom that I DO NOT appreciate her opening my mail? I want to tell her it is illegal, but she already knows this. I know her argument is going to be that she paid for my college education and she should open it, but she has also opened other things of mine with MY NAME that have been sent to her house. But my argument is that I am a legal adult and she has NO RIGHT to open any mail that has my name on it. What are my options? I'm almost prepared to take legal action!
