How To Child Proof The Tv

How do you baby proof a floor lamp?

put it behind furniture, in a corner, or screw it the floor, or get rid of it. I have 2 and am wondering what to do, one is behind furniture in a corner, so thats fine, she can't get at it, but the other one is just there in the room, so we are thinking of getting different lamps.

How to childproof remote control?

I was wondering if anyone knew any good ways to childproof the back of a remote control where the batteries go. My daughter keeps taking the backs off and chewing on the batteries. I had a big scare because I found one today with acid leaking out of it (called poison control already). Is there anything to do other than put tape on the back? She's pretty crafty so I feel she would be able to take the tape off. Thanks!

How old should babies be before watching TV?

I know they say it is bad for kids to watch TV because it will make them lazy, but will letting babies watch TV for the flashy lights hurt their eyes? My three month old really seems to like Chicken Little for some reason. Her sister rented it the other day, and when its on, she just stops everything, and totally zones in to it, for the whole thing. It was cute, but at the same time I don't want to make her have eye damage. So do they say that because they just want your kids to watch less TV and be more active, or are there really health risks?

Is 3D TV safe for children?

The Nintendo warning is most likely a defensive legal move.  Children develop their stereo perception in phases starting around 6 months and continuing through age 6 and beyond.  When you see stereo in the real world your two eyes converge on an object and your eyes focus appropriately at the distance to that object.  In S3D the two images plus the glasses cause your eyes to converge at the point where the virtual object is supposed to exist, but your eyes are always focused on the surface of the screen.  This disconnect between where your eyes focus and where they converge can cause headaches and other problems.  That is because S3D requires their eyes to work in a new way, potentially  uncovering vision problems that the person has lived with their entire life, .  Watching how children respond to S3D is increasingly being viewed as a diagnostic tool.  If a young child's behavior changes after watching S3D, they should have the binocular vision tested (not just the standard left eye / right eye test, but a test the monitors how their two eyes work together).  Binocular vision problems can often be cured by eye exercises ("vision therapy"), and curing binocular vision issues can improve the child's performance in school and sports.  As with anything else, S3D should be viewed in moderation.  But for most children, watching S3D will no more harm the development of their visual system than watching black and white TV harmed an earlier generation's ability to see color.

How to take the child lock off a Hitachi tv model c21-rf80s without the remote, it is stuck on av1?

The tv is stuck on the AV1 position and I am not able to use the TV mode button on the tv to change it back to tv. A message pops up saying child lock and no other button works. I tried cutting off the tv and unplugging it, I also tried to push a couple of buttons in hopes that it was some type of reset programmed on the tv. If you have any suggestions on how to remove the child lock from the tv please email.

How do you baby proof a phone jack/socket which is in use?

I have a telephone socket in the lounge which we use for the telephone and broadband internet.

My 9 month old son is obsessed with it. I have managed to make my own perspex and velcro covers for my tv stand and my CD/DVD cabinet. My son tries have a fiddle, but when I say no and remove him from the situation (more increasingly just the no works) he loses interest. Maybe it's the wires in the socket, but unless I block it off with something like his walker he will go back continuously.

I can find no covers for sockets which are in use and due to the shape would struggle myself to construct something. I've wrapped the wires so there is no so much interest for him and tightened them so not much to pull at and attached it to the wall so it is tight, but he simply pulls it out of the wall and goes to stick it straight in his mouth.

I understand that the voltage is unlikely to be enough to hurt him permanently, but I don't want to have to buy new wires and cables and re-plaster the wall even.

Has anyone got any ideas?

It is in too awkward a position to put any permanent furniture as it's under a window sill and next to a radiator.

Many thanks

Rachael

Is it ok to slap a child on the hand (9 months)?

No, it's not okay. Either find a way to safely block off access to the tv, or distract him with something more interesting whenever he starts to crawl toward it.

Do you think video games and TV is bad for your children?

No.What’s bad is when parents don’t join their kids in their interests. Parents let TV and video games keep their kids out of their hair. They use TV and video games as if they were off switches for their kids. And then they complain that kids are disconnected. To stay connected, parents can join their kids as much as they can. They can get to know their kids through their interests. So when parents do want to take a break while the kids watch and play they aren’t disconnecting. What is bad for relationships is having an interest denigrated by a loved one. It’s disconnecting and damaging. It’s the same whether it’s between parents and kids, spouses or friends.Parents can view the shows and games through their kids. The parents may not see the appeal for themselves. (They aren’t the target audience.) But if they observe their children then they can seeWhat’s bad is for parents to live in protective mode, shielding their kids from whatever makes the parents nervous “just in case.” What’s bad is to search for confirmation that something is bad since Confirmation Bias will guarantee that they’re convinced that something is bad. What’s good is to treat their children’s interests with respect. Let them see how to treat others with different ideas with respect. What’s good is to keep children’s lives swirling with plenty of other opportunities. Not instead of games and TV. In addition to. Just as a parent wouldn’t — or shouldn’t — see a child reading and immediately think of other things the child could be doing, don’t do that with TV and games. Give kids plenty of time to do the things they love. And also time to do other things together and discover new interests.(I’m not sure what the purpose of the video is. A video to convince people that videos aren’t good for kids? Maybe if the Dad were watching with the child? Maybe if when parents offered other opportunities those opportunities were better than TV and video games?)

Game of Thrones (TV series): ASOIAF: Is there any proof Rhaegar told Lyanna the prophecy he "allegedly" discovered, and Lyanna believed in the prophecy too?

There's no hammer-to-the-face proof, no. But I think you could reasonably argue that it makes a great deal of sense for Rhaegar to have included Lyanna in his prophetic quest. We know that not only did he shift his interests once he read the prophecy (whatever it actually said), but that this focus also lasted well into his adulthood, when he seemed to think his son Aegon fulfilled it. Based on the "song of ice and fire" motif, it seems likely that he hit upon the possibility of fulfilling it with Lyanna once Elia Martell was unable to bear children, shifting the focus of the prophecy from Aegon to Lyanna's child or viewing Lyanna's child as the third of his needed three (a third that Elia would not be able to provide). I think it's clear enough that Lyanna went willingly with Rhaegar and probably loved him (for some silly reason a lot of people think "fulfilling a prophecy" and "genuine love" are mutually exclusive; they aren't). However, while she was supposedly headstrong and impetuous, she doesn't strike me as the type of person to do what she did — break a betrothal to run off with the crown prince and inadvertently start a war — without a slightly better reason than "romance." We know from the Knight of the Laughing Tree exploits that Lyanna had a strong sense of justice and purpose; a "quest" is something that would probably appeal to her. In that context, her seemingly irrational actions make a lot more sense if she thought that by doing what she did, she was possibly saving humanity through her child. I'm sure by the end the allure had worn off and she may have even become disillusioned by it, especially after learning the outcome of the war. But "come with me to fulfill a prophecy to save mankind" is an easier sell than "run off with me for the lulz," whether you love the guy or not.

Where did the future Flash go after he saved child Barry in Flash 2014 TV series?

Now there's a lot of confusion here even to me as I answer this one. Please do correct me if I'm wrong somewhere. So at the time when the Flash and Reverse Flash were fighting around Nora Allen, Flash from the year 2024 takes kid Barry and rushed him to safety and the Reverse Flash kills his mother. At this point when they are fighting we have 3 Barrys (Flash) from different times.1. The Flash from 2024 2. Flash who travelled from our time through a portal 3. And the child Barry, who sees his mother killed.1. He is the Flash who according to newspaper clippings shown by Gideon is missing from 2024. He saves the child Barry and rushes him blocks away so that the Reverse Flash couldn't harm the mere existence of The Flash. He also directs the Flash from our timeline to not save Nora and instead let her die as it would alter the timeline. Now I assume you are asking about where did this Flash go after doing his things. He did got away from this time but he never reached his original year of 2024 as Gideon still shows that he is missing from that year. Probably he is struck somewhere in the limbo maybe or maybe he is in some other time because he ran out of the speed force.2. The Flash from our timeline sees Reverse Flash killing his mother and comforts her in her dying seconds. They both have a son and mother emotional moment and then he travels back in present timeline to get even with Eobard Thawne. He is out there now preparing for Zoom in STAR Labs.3. The kid Barry; well his mother died. He is in trauma and Joe's gonna take him in. He going to spend his childhood and high school around Iris and grow up to be the Flash.I hope this kills the curiosity cat. :)
