No and No.If you're talking about rooting and custom roms, then I assume you're talking about Android powered BlackBerry phones. They cannot be rooted as their bootleader is locked with additional security like qualcomm root of Trust which allows only BlackBerry signed os to be installed on your device.Interestingly, there was even a Bounty of around $1000 to root the BlackBerry PRIV and not a single case of successful rooting was seen. I locked myself out of my blackberry bold. Cant remember the password for the life of me! i don't mind losing all the information because i backed up my contacts, I read this will set my phone back to factory. By dead, do you mean that it won't charge or ‘wake up’? Hook it up to your computer and see if BlackBerry Link will recognize it. All you need is a current backup. When did you last back up the Z10? Don't try to reload the OS or you might wipe it. Caution: BlackBerry has stated that Windows 10 is not supported. I have found that it doesn't play nice with BlackBerry Link so use a Windows 7 computer for best results.

My blackberry keeps turning off?
I'm just taking a shot at it but sounds like water damage to me. This happened to both my Pearl and my Curve 8520 because I ran through sprinklers with them in my pocket. The water seeped into the phone and wrecked havoc on the hard drive. The phones would turn off and I'd see a red steady light appear and disappear. They rarely turned on. I'd recommend removing the back cover, battery, sim card, media card, etc. and placing all the parts in a bowl of uncooked rice. The rice absorbs the water within the phone. Make sure to leave the parts in for at least 24 hours! Hope it works for you cause I know how much it sucks to lose such a great piece of machinery :(
How do you Change the background on Blackberry Curve 8310?
Go to your pictures and press the menu/blackberry button and select Reset Home Screen Image. Your background will now revert back to the default background for that theme.
