How To Concentrate And Memorize During Study Time.

How can we completely concentrate while studying?

It's not only about getting distracted during our study-time. Mind wandering is constant. People mind wander 47% of the time. And that means we live the present moment for only half our lives.Intrusive thoughts are almost always created by anxiety and/or negative emotional experiences. They hinder your concentration, encourage you to procrastinate , distract you from the task in hand and inevitably increase your anxiety which leads to an increase in intrusive thoughts.Trying to block out unwanted thoughts is actually counterproductive. Close your eyes right now and set a timer. Your aim is to spend a minute without thinking of a white bear. How did you get on? How many seconds did you last before the white bear appeared in your thoughts. And why do we think of a white bear when we have expressly told ourselves not to?Trying to suppress thoughts lead to obsession. So, don't block out unwanted thoughts or ear worms. Instead, congratulate yourself for recognising that you are experiencing them and realising that your concentration is wandering.YOU’re a HOMO SAPIEN.As human beings, we have this unique ability to have our minds stray. This ability of having our minds focussed on something other than the present is amazing - it helps us to learn, plan and reason. While most people think of mind-wandering as a lifting escape from daily drudgery, research shows that this may not be the case. In fact, mind-wandering appears to be correlated with unhappiness. Mind-wandering might make us feel less content, but it could also have a functional purpose. A study suggests that mind-wandering might be a sign of a high capacity working memory — in other words, the ability to think about multiple things at once. Here are a few solutions to it :1)Try to postpone the thought.Write a list of the things that are bothering you and then set it aside to be dealt with at an assigned point later in the day. This means that you don't have to hold that thought in your memory and you know you will deal wiht them later.2) Wherever possible , avoid multitasking, which can reduce productivity by approximately 40% by some researchers,as well as increasing stress and anxiety.3) Exposure:Allow yourself to think about the unwanted thought, so that it is less likely to pop up unwantedly at other times. This is painful, but it might work.4)Meditation and mindfulness strengthen mental control and help to control unwanted thoughts.Everyone in this world gets distracted. It's natural. So , stay cool.

How to concentrate while studying?

One of the fastest ways to memorize is to write out the info. There are several ways we learn, and writing combines a couple of ways, the hand movement and the eyes. It's like the info goes through your arm into your brain. Seriously. If you are just reading, if it's boring, you might end up reading the same sentence over and over and fall asleep. But if you're writing, you will be more involved and it will help you to concentrate. Saying everything out loud as you write also helps. So write up notes of what you need to know, in an outline form or something similar.

If you can type fast, you can also type up notes, but it doesn't help your memory as well. But better to help you concentrate than just reading. But no facebook etc while you're doing homework on the computer! Don't even check during studying, it will break your focus.

Set a time limit, like I will write notes for 30 minutes then take a 5 minute break. Or whatever works for you.

Also, remove distractions, like cell phone. Although it only takes a second to text, it will take you up to 10 minutes to get your focus back to studying. So keep cell phones out of the room. Make your studying efficient so you can have time afterward to do what you like.

Good luck!

WHEN WE TALK OF STUDY, CONCENTRATION IS ALREADY INVOLVED IN IT. BUT REGULAR STUDY BECOMES BORING, SO OUR MIND TENDS TO BE DISTRACTED EASILY.
TO AVOID THIS BREAKING OF CONCENTRATION WE CAN TAKE A COFFEE BREAK/BREATH FRESH AIR IN THE GARDEN/TALK TO A BOSOM PAL ON THE PHONE/SIMPLY TAKE A GLASS OF WATER AND WATCH T.V.
BUT ONLY FOR 10 MINS. WE HAVE TO BE SINCERE. THIS REFRESHMENT WILL MAKE OUR MIND LIGHT AS THE TENSIONS WILL BE ELEVATED AND ENRICH OUR CONCENTRATION POWER.
SITTING IN THE MIDST OF NATURE AND GREENERY IN THE WEE HOURS AND WALKING BAREFOOT IN THE PARK ENHANCES OUR THINKING POWER AS WELL AS CONCENTRATION. try it out, 90% RESULTS ASURED.

How do I get myself to study when I feel tired and can't concentrate?

If you feel tired all the time these two weeks, it could be a stress, motivation or procrastination issue. Take a break, find new ways to motivate yourself, study a little at a time without worrying about whether it'll be tested or whether you'll remember it, etc...whatever works. The key to studying effectively is to find a method that really works for you. Everyone learns differently, so try different techniques until you find the one that works best for you.If you feel tired all the time in general, no matter how much rest you get, then you might have health issues like adrenal fatigue. Go for a comprehensive medical check up and see if your hormone levels or other health indicators are abnormal. Then implement the necessary medication, supplements or lifestyle changes. Also, I don't know what you mean by eating well, but I assume that means you've heard all the advice about eating low GI foods for long-lasting energy. So I'm going to suggest smaller portions instead, especially for any kind of sugar or carbohydrate, because big portions tend to make you feel sluggish. Thus, as inconvenient as it sounds, if you want to eat 3 slices of pizza, for instance, you'd feel less sluggish if you ate 1 slice per hour than if you ate all 3 at one go. Likewise, caffeine is about reaching and maintaining a level that affects you positively, not drinking a large quantity at once and then crashing later. So sip your coffee or energy drinks slowly over the course of the day instead of drinking several cups/cans at breakfast.

How do I concentrate on studies? How to remember what have you studied? How to understand the concepts?

You first need to build your sense of direction in your studies. That means you need to be constantly aware what are the topics you already know and what are the topics still require you to spend more time to study. In order to build your sense of direction in your studies, you need to study to understand, which provides for solid memories, rather than studying to remember/memorizing.This is what I will suggest you doOn school days or any busy days, allocate a fixed time for homework and studying in each day. This will give you an idea on how much time you need each day to do both which makes you more organized. For each day, ideally before you go to bed, allocate 1 hour to finish your homework and the next hour doing some short revisions from what you learned during school. The short revisions include writing some short notes of what you know and what you still need to learn from today’s lessons. In the final 5 minutes of that one hour revision session, you do a reflection on what you have learn in all your lesson today. This meaning making a summary of what you have learned today and what you still need to learn or not sure or seek help from the teacher on the next day.By doing a reflection, you get a clear idea of what you know and don’t know which then gives you direction on what you need to learn in school. This will naturally give you a sense of purpose in studying as well as keeping you engaged in your study session. Thus, you will naturally have the motivation to keep learning and studying.During the weekends (or any full day), allocate a 2 or 3 hour study session, with a 15 minutes break in between, on each weekend for a study session. The most ideal time to do this is in the morning when you just had your breakfast. In the last 15 minutes of each study session, you also do a reflection on what you have learned and what you still need to improve on. This will give you a sense of direction on what you still need to learn in class for the next week. If you repeat this step, you will realized you are studying more efficiently by constantly focus on improvement. You may add one more 3 hour study session on a full day if you do not have anything else on.All this allows you to study efficiently and still have time to have fun and have a good night sleepSeeTimothy Soo's answer to How do top students study?

How can I study hard and memorize all my studies in a short span of time?

It takes only 2:30 hrs. As a student you can use this method for regular studies like going through what your teachers taught you today. The best thing about this method is you can utilize one period for one subject.Study for 25 Minutes and take a break for 5 Minutes. Let's call it one period. If you get distracted during this 25 min. period Start Again. Do it untill you sucsessfully complete one period.Repeat the process 5 Times.Till now you have spent 2:30 hr studying. After completing One 2:30 hr module take break for 30 minutes.Repeat the Process and utilize time wisely.PS: SuggestionsWaking up early or Studying till Late nightI would say it really depends on your preference. But studying regularly on particular time of the day will help you.Keep you Cell Phone away from youNowadays phones are becoming smart and users are becoming idiot. Uselss messages on group chat or checking facebook feed every 2 minutes won’t help you to achieve your goal. Remember you have 5 minutes after each period to do whatever you want you can utilize this time. This will give you best result only if you have notes in physical form.Focus on QUALITY not QUANTITYYou can certainly increase the duration of study but does that really matters? You can study for as long as you can but will you able to retain that knowledge. Quality matters not quantity. If you are able to maintain quality with the quantity go ahead and give 100% time that you can.Best of luck…Regards,Mayur Shelke.
