How To Connect Creative 5.1 Speakers To Dvd Player

How to connect 4.1 Speakers (Creative Inspire M4500 4.1) to an LCD TV?

Hi,

I've seen similar questions but they were mostly related to 2 speaker systems (with no surround anyway) or 5.1 systems (which seemed to be impossible to connect), but my specific case is with a 4.1 system (Creative Inspire M4500 4.1) with a subwoofer and 4 speakers.

Now, I have the 2 mini jacks (ones used to connect to a laptop or soundcard) having green and black colors obviously being for the front and rear speakers (although I don't know which is which). The LCD TV has two RCA outputs left and right. I've actually went out and bought a couple of adapters female mini jack to L/R RCA, but since I can only connect one RCA line from each adapter, I could only get 2 speakers to work.

There must be some way to get 4 channels of sound out of the TV or home theaters wouldn't work, but with the L/R RCA audio output on the TV how is that possible?

Could I connect in ceiling speakers to a dvd player for the tv or could I connect directly to the tv?

No, Usually you would need to connect the speakers to some type of Amp or A/V Receiver. The DVD player can't power the speakers. Also most tvs do not have the ability to connect to external speakers. If it did it probably could not provide enough power.

There are plenty of good priced a/v receivers at all the big box retailers. Once you get one of those you could jump into some surround sound if you have enough speakers.
Good Luck

Best way to connect 7.1 Creative T770 PC speakers to Toshiba 32" HD LCD TV?

I have a set of Creative T770 7.1 PC speakers from a few years ago (hard to find info on creative.com now) that I want to connect to a new Toshiba 32" LCD HD TV 32AV500U.

The speakers have 4 1/8 headphone size connections, which I managed to convert down to 1 headphone, then split to 2 RCA jacks through a series of adapter cables, to connect to a DVD player. It fills the room with sound, but I know I lost all the surround capability by doing that.

The TV has 2 (1 set) of RCA audio out and a digital audio out. I would like to connect the speakers to the TV and keep some surround sound, even 5.1. I don't know anything about adapting 4 1/8 headphone to digital audio, if that would still mix it all down to one signal or if I can keep them separate.

My other option is buying a receiver if anyone could recommend one (cheapest) that would let me connect the 4 1/8 headphone jacks and use the digital audio out option for best quality.

How do I connect 5.1 speaker to laptop?

I’ve actually just been researching the same thing for myself since I’m moving from a desktop to a laptop soon. Assuming your laptop just has a single headphone out socket you can’t connect normal analogue speakers directly to the laptop, but you do have a couple of options.1: Buy an external USB sound card and connect regular analog or digital speakers to that.2: Connect your laptop’s HDMI socket (assuming it has one) to a 5.1 audio receiver. This also has the advantage of letting you use a large TV for a monitor to, though if you want to use the laptop’s built in monitor the speakers probably won’t work.3: Buy a set of home theater 5.1 speakers with bluetooth and have a wireless connection to your laptop.Probably the best results from that lot will be the first one. The easiest would be a toss up between the first and third. You’d probably only consider the second if you already had (or needed) a home theater system.

Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers?

Hey, I recently bought Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 speakers.
The speakers' input comes from 3 different cables, which is good if you have a supporting sound card.
I want to know if there is a possibility to somehow combine those 3 cables into 1 (a connector of some sort) so I can connect the speakers to a laptop's headphone plug and have all the 5 speakers work.
I don't care if it will be mono or stereo.

Thanks in advance.

How can I connect F&D 3800X speaker to my PC for a true 5.1 surround sound?

Check if your PC supports 5.1 surround sound. if not get a sound card which does.Use 3 AUX to RCA cables for the 6 channels. Connect the channels carefully without mismatching them. Select the output device to your speakers and change the settings to 5.1 surround in your audio driver software.Do not use aux cable or Bluetooth if you want true surround sound. Aux supports only 2 channels (stereo) and Bluetooth might cause slight delays between the channels and a lower audio quality.

Can I connect a 5.1 speaker with a 3.5 mm jack to my TV? The TV has a 3.5 mm output jack. Will it be as good as a 5.1 home theatre system?

Yes you can connect it but you will not get separate sound in all five speakers, what you get is stereo sound of two channels spread in all five speakers.5.1 means there are 5+1 audio channels recorded sound, whereas centre speaker is normally used for vocals, left and right for panning of sound, left surround & right surround for effects and subwoofer takes care of only lower bass frequency of all the channels. So it possible if your TV supports 5.1 (AC3) coding with optical output then you can have separate audio in all speakers like cinema theatres. If you are using set-top box with dish antenna, they normally have 5.1 surround output and if your home theatre system has optical output you can get 5.1 surround transmitted signal on your home system.
