How do I fix a mohawk haircut for a job?
I cut my own hair and never have any problems, but I messed up on the front and it messed up the whole haircut. I ended up with, well basically Mr T style mohawk cut. The sides are a 0 and I have a ~5" wide strip that's 1-2" long going most of the way down my head. Any ideas how to fix this to be presentable for a job? Many of the customers are older and I don't think a hat is acceptable. I just need to figure something out until the sides start to show, when the top won't be noticeable anymore.
Mohawk- dye or cut first?
Since you're shaving it off you should cut it first, then bleach, and then dye it. Otherwise it is a complete waste of bleach and dye. You will need to bleach it first, you might even need to bleach it twice because the only natural hair color green dye will show up on is blonde. Go for 30 or 40 volume bleach. Apply heat and it will lighten faster, read the directions, don't leave the bleach on for longer than the directions say because after that point it will not make your hair any lighter, it will just damage it. If it turns out orange you just need to get some new bleach and do it again. Don't bleach it more than twice or it might fall out. When you dye it green you can leave the dye on for as long as you want because the unnatural colored hair dyes do not damage hair, only the bleach. Heat will also help the green dye.
How do i make my hair into a mohawk?
That depends on how accurate you want it to look =). First, you CAN straighten your hair with a straightener OR flat iron, but you don't have to. Trust me, I have wavy/curly hair, and every time I straighten mine it only lasts for like three hours x.x (without any relaxers in it). If you're not into all that, then just go to the store (your best bet would either be an actual hair products store or Walmart, since most Walmarts have a Hair Care center in them) and pick up either of the following: Hair Glue (Sometimes called Hair Cement) Hair Wax (Harder to dry and wash out-this is what they use for fake dreadlocks most of the time) I actually put my hair in a mohawk once for Halloween, when it was down to my shoulders (you can imagine the size of it lol), and I used this stuff in a tube called Hair Glue. It was easy to wash out, easy to use, and cheap, too! Now the one I used had color to it (I had red and blue), but you can find non-colored stuff anywhere. What you do (for the kind I had) was load your hair down with it, style it, then hold it there and let it dry. Once it dries, it's indestructable- unless it gets wet. Hope I helped! How do can I do a girl mohawk?
youll need: a couple friends. a hairdryer or two. rubber gloves for all of you. a couple combs you don't mind wasting...trust me you won't want them anymore.. and glue. ELMERS glue. the white stuff. i know... lgue and my hair?? gross. but actually its not that bad. and washes out like hairgel. you probably wont be able to get all of your hair into one because it will be heavy...but my daughter and my son did a 1.5inch one down the middle of my daughter's head and left the rest of her hair on the sides and curled it out... after you seperate the hair you are gonna put into the mohawk, you'll put the rest in like buns or ponytails.. then seperate the hair into three or four different parts. you won't be able to get the "fanned out" look it will have to be kind of chunky becuase of the long hair and the curve of your scalp... anywho... you put on the gloves and with the first section you start putting the glue at the base and work it up with the comb like hair dye. make sure you get a lot at the bottom becuase if you don't it won't stay up. then take plenty of glue on your palms and "squish" them together around the hair...like flattening it and pulling it up... if you are the person getting the mohawk you probably with have to have the other people do this... anywho...you have one friendhow the hair up and the other blow dry it, have two people blowdry it for faster results... continue doing this with the other sections... the top section will be the easiest and probably the biggest... then make the sections smaller to follow the curve of your head... with my daughter's hair being about shoulder length it took like 1.5 hours, so expect to spend some time.... it takes forever and alot o fhelp from friends who don't mind having tired arms. for shoulder length hair i would suggest two to three bottles of glue... adjust accordingly. you will be picking glue clumps that got left behind when you washed it for the next couple of days. : ) ahaha. btw, i know this might not be the best answer but it took me forever to write can i have the ten pts. for effort? lol. thanks anyway, and good luck with your mohawk : )
Step by step instructions to cut a mohawk.?
You'll need clips to hold your hair, a comb and clippers. First section off the hair. Part you hair on both sides down you head however wide you want the mohawk to be, make sure your part is straight on both sides. Clip the hair out of the way that you don't want to cut, this also keeps your part straight. Shave the sides. If you want the mowhawk to be a certain height, use the guards on the clippers, start with the biggest guard first, that way if you want it shorter you can go shorter because once it's gone, it's gone.
