How To Deal With A Stomache Virus

Tips to deal with stomach virus!?

Definitly sounds like a Virus. I had the SAME symptoms and Virus Thursday night. The best thing to do, which is also what I did is stay in BED. I took a warm shower and then got into bed and kept a hot water bottle on my stomach. I was able totake some Mylanta which helped. The best thing to do is TRY to get some sleep. When I woke up the following day I felt somewhat better. Do NOT eat until your feeling much better.

My sister has stomach flu, what can she eat?

I had the exact same stomach problem a month ago and this is what I did to avoid taking expensive antibiotics. First of all, your sister is experiencing Gastroenteritis and her stomach and intestines are swollen and causing her severe discomfort. She probably ate something that was contaminated w/ bacteria and most likely food that was left out at room temperatures between 40 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I recommend you give your sister lots of rest and go to your nearest Rite-Aid or Walgreens and buy the over-the-counter medicine call acetaminophen.

Make your sister drink plenty of fluids such as Gatorade and NOT water because she is going through diarrhea and losing a ton of electrolytes from her body as a result. The Gatorade will re-balance the sodium levels in her body and will keep her from becoming too thirsty, fatigued or dizzy etc. Drink the Gatorade with acetaminophen (usually 1-2 tablets) read the back label for children's recommendation.

Avoid dairy products such as milk and yogurt because these will upset your sister's stomach. Feed her soup or porridge ONLY but no juice or bread. Remember, giving her plenty of rest is the most important factor here along with the right medications that I mentioned and your sister will recover.

Your sister might be lucky to heal soon because I had gastroenteritis for a week and finally went to the pharmacist and ask for help and avoided having to go to the hospital and saved money.

Will I catch the stomach virus my coworker had?

It's difficult to say, my friend, because we don't know how clean you are. Please believe me, I am NOT trying to cause offence [offense, as I believe you MAY be one of my American cousins) but how frequently did you wash your hands after handling the same areas, such as door handles/knobs and desk, pen(s), papers, etc.? Frequent hand washing can make a big difference.

Also, my friend, we don't know whether you have a compromised immune system from any condition(s) that you MAY already have.

I certainly do hope that you don't pick up the virus. (If you do have a good immune system, your body will, likely, fight it off before it has terrible effects on you.)

Stomach Pains and Diarrhea?

Starting around sunday, I took a pill very late at night which is Terbinafine, and in the morning, I started having stomach pains, and a headache, followed by diarrhea later on in the day, later in the night I took some Theraflu and it solved my headache but today, I've been having stomach pains and right after the pains I start having diarrhea and It's been happening non stop all day, almost every 30 minutes to 1 hour I have to make a trip to the bathroom, or if I eaten something, 15 minutes later I have to use the bathroom, so far it was diarrhea the whole time, My parents and I are suspecting this to be the Stomach Flu or Virus because my symptoms match but I'm not sure if non stop diarrhea is one of the symptoms, I haven't vomited though, can anyone help me out with this? Like what to eat and not what to eat? How to treat this? What to do?

Same stomach virus affects people differently?

Earlier this week my son (he is almost 2 years old) started throwing up in the middle of the night. He was also VERY congested earlier that day and into the evening. My husband took him to the doctor the next day and he was diagnosed with a sinus infection. She said the vomiting was from all the congestion because children that young do not know to try and cough it up and they do not blow their noses to get rid of it so they sometimes gag on it. He also had diarrhea and she said this was from the same sinus infection. That was on Tuesday.

On Wednesday evening, my stomach started feeling funny. I did not really have an appetite so I hardly touched my dinner. The next morning I still felt like that so I had toast for breakfast to try and settle my tummy. Then, about 10 minutes later, I had bad diarrhea. I stayed home from work and had diarrhea a few more times, and it was not so terrible, but definitely felt like a stomach bug.

Today my son threw up again while my mom was giving him his medicine (antibiotic). He gagged on it and threw up. Then he was fine. About 6 hours later, my mom threw up. And my dad has diarrhea.

I am paranoid about vomiting and my older son (4 years old) and husband catching this thing too. I do not deal well with vomiting. But, how come my dad and I did not throw up but my mom did? Is it possible for one person to throw up from the same virus, and the other person only gets diarrhea? I also take a probiotic every day and I am not sure if this affects it for me. But I have this horrible fear of vomiting, emetophobia, and I feel like I go crazy when these viruses hit home.

Can cocaine upset your stomach?

I think this questions is probably coming from concern about feeling in your stomach after taking cocaine? So understanding what’s going on physically may help.Taking cocaine which is a stimulant causes the release of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin. Now the relevant bit here is norepinephrine also called noradrenaline (NA) or noradrenalin, This is how our nervous systems responds to danger or threat (Fight or Flight syndrome) and it causes physical changes to the body:respiration increases, usually faster shallower breaths in the upper chestheart rate increases (cocaine is also a vasoconstrictor- so your blood vessels get smaller increasing pressure)blood moves away from the surface (increasing temperature= sweating)pupils dilate ( to let in more light)This is to redirect blood to the muscles so you can fight or flight(run away)Now our bodies are a closed system and can’t rapidly produce more blood so when threatened or stressed or aroused, blood is diverted from areas that aren’t important to fighting or running away. The two main areas denied blood are the digestive system, this is the butterfly's you get when you are nervous (about to go on stage) its simply the blood leaving your digestive system which uses lots of energy (why you get tired after eating a big meal)This is also why people who use cocaine regularly learn to go to the toilet once they decide to use, after a while they don’t even need to take the drug to trigger this response, simply deciding to take a line will trigger the desire to go to the toilet!another organ that’s very important during this process is the higher rational areas of the brain, we don’t need to be smart to escape danger we need to be quick so stress actually makes thinking more difficult, in particular the ares of the brain needed to think about consequences (if I spend all my money of cocaine now i won’t have any money for the rest of the week/month) this is why when triggered and craving people seem to make stupid decisions and why stress is so linked to drug use/misuse.Alcohol also impacts on these areas of the brain!I have known people who get such a strong response to even the idea of using cocaine (particularly crack) that they are physically sick (vomit) when the decide to use or immediately after using- this is a physical response triggered by a learned psychological cue- some people even think this is proof they have no choice but to use cocaine or that they have no control or choice over their use.
