If you have an annoying song stuck in your head, are you better off listening to it?
I wouldn't; it'll just get stuck even more severely.I did, however, once respond to that situation by writing a song (http://perisoft.org/music/periso...) that was specifically designed to be not very catchy. It worked like a charm; I highly recommend it. The only problem was that it took me a solid hour and a half in the middle of the night to do it, so while it was effective it wasn't very fast!

How do you get a song out of your head?
People are on the right path when they suggest to listen to a different song, but it has to be one song in particular that you have to think about to make a catchy pop song go away. Years ago, I was listening to a radio show and the host of the radio show brought up this topic randomly. He suggested to people that when they have a song stuck in their head and they want to clear it out, all you have to do is think about Tina Turner's "Private Dancer" and whatever song you had stuck on your head will go away instantaneously! The best part is that "Private Dancer" will not get stuck in your head. I was skeptical at first, but believe me, IT WORKS! You don't have to even know the whole song either.
