How To Deal With Toothache Pain From Nerve

How to relieve severe tooth ache pain?

I've had this kind of pain and believe me when I say you really, really, really need some antibiotics. In the meantime, this is what worked for me:

Keep the area really clean (brush, rinse with warm salt water AND floss, floss, floss).

Swish whiskey, NyQuil cough syrup, or vanilla extract around the area and then spit out. I think NyQuil works best, followed by whiskey/vanilla extract. This works a lot better than Ambesol in my experience.

I didn't have oil of cloves, so I rubbed ground cloves (inexpensive spice available at grocery store) on the area and it did work.

Put hot or cold compresses on the area (whichever feels better).

If the entire side of your face hurts (as mine did), rub Ben-gay or something similar on your jaw. Yes you will smell like Ben-gay, but this gave me a lot of relief in combination with above. Odorless creams did not work as well.

Hope you feel better. The infection will not go away on it's own... please get some antibiotics ASAP.

Severe tooth pain?

Sometimes the tooth that we think is hurting, is not the case at all. The molars, the back teeth share nerves so when one tooth hurts the others may seem like they are hurting too. The premolars or bicuspids share nerves, and the canine through the central incisor share nerves. On the lower the same thing applies. If you had a deep cavity and he had to place a filling close to the nerve then it may be that you need a root canal on this tooth. The symptoms that you are describing sound like a classic example of a tooth that has an abscess and is throbbing, when the pulp or nerve of the tooth becomes inflamed and infected it needs an outlet for the infection to go, if there is no place for the infection to drain then it can cause throbbing pain. Sometimes when one tooth has been worked on it can stir up trouble for other teeth. Though I think that the tooth he worked on is prob. the culprit tooth. Call your dentist and tell them what is going on, they will get you back in and evaluate that side to see what is going on, and can prescribe you a pain killer and an antibiotic.

Can pregabalin be used to relieve toothache pain?

not if the pain is acute...

pregablin if often used in the long term management of neuropathic pain...

if the tooth pain is being caused by a chronic nerve pain disorder like trimegial neuralgia.. okay i can't spell but the condition hs a similar name... than yes, it can help but if you have just a tooth ache,. not it's not for that purpose...

Can a exposed nerve in your tooth cause pain in your neck ear and arm and cause wakness in the arm? ?

Yes it can. These symptoms are not unusual for someone who has a root exposed. When a tooth's nerve is exposed, it can cause pain in areas such as your ear, jaw, temple, etc...Have you contacted your dentist yet? It sounds like you need a root canal or extraction as soon as possible.

Can I take flexeril for my toothache?

Most dentists prescribe vicodin tablets which has 5mg hydrocodone but 500mg acetaminophen. If you take an extra strenght tylenol (acetaminophen 500mg) that should help. You can take up to 1000mg a maximum of 4 times a day.

If you take 3 advils (600mg ibuprofen) thats also a good alternative (that would be the second option), but you should not take it on an empty stomach (it hurts the stomach lining).

Flexeril is usually used to relax the muscles (most often in the back) and would not work since you are dealing with nerve pain in your mouth. Goodluck
