How To Delete The First Windows Instalation .

What comes first? Paint or window installation?

It depends on the type of new windows you are having installed.

'Replacement' windows are just new glass and inner frames which are inserted into your original frames. There is no damage to the exterior stucco, wood, or whatever material your house is made from. You could paint your house before or after the window replacement job.

New windows are the same type used in new construction. To install them, the installers need to completely take out the old windows, including the frame and flashing.

If your walls are stucco, they will cut back about 4" of stucco and peel back the lath to remove the entire window - frame and all. They will insert the new window, apply new weatherproof flashing, flatten the lath and apply new stucco. You should have your house painted last, after the windows are installed.

If your walls are wood, they will remove the wood trim and usually cut out a 2" perimeter from your siding to remove the entire window and frame. Then they insert the window and weatherproof flashing, and re-trim your windows with larger wood trim than the original size. You can have your house painted before or after, but the new trim will be painted after the new windows go in.

Hope this helps. Good luck and enjoy your new windows.

Does Windows 10 delete your data when you install it?

If you boot from installation media like a USB stick or a DVD, then you can only do an install that wipes out your data. There is no option to keep it - with the caveat that you could choose to install on a separate partition and not actually wipe out your old files. Those files would still be present after the install but none of the programs would be installed. However it would be quite simple to go back and move all your pictures and other documents from the old to the new location, for example. If you boot from the existing operating system and perform an upgrade, then you are given the option of a fresh install which would wipe out your files, or an upgrade that maintains old applications and settings. If you choose this, you might get a message that some applications are not compatible. You should be aware that Windows will do the best job it can to perform the upgrade without affecting any applications, but some applications might not work exactly the same. There are literally millions of applications out there and the chances that nothing will go wrong when you replace the operating system are low. If you have issues with an app, it often helps to update it to the newest version, or reinstall the old version again. Sometimes you might just need to tweak some of the settings. If you perform an upgrade (keeping old files) then your old system files are moved to a “Windows.old” directory and replaced with newer ones. As long as you keep the Windows.old directory, you can revert back to the older operating system version later. If everything is fine, you can delete the Windows.old directory to free up disk space. To delete the Windows.old directory, you need to perform a disk cleanup, which is an option you get when you right-click the disk drive in file explorer and select properties. This is also where you would restore the old operating system. There are also other methods that can be used to upgrade the operating system, such as back up your data to a USB stick or other hard drive, then performing a clean install, then restoring your data from the backup location. Several third-party applications are sold that have this capability, and Microsoft provides tools like DISM that can do it for free.

I already have Windows 10, can I delete Windows.old?

there is a small guide i have wrote on HACKORO how to delete windows.old folder in windows 10.Every time you upgrade your PC from an older version of Windows to Windows 10 without first formatting the hard drive, or when you install a new Windows Insider Preview test build, the install wizard will save a copy of the previous version inside of the "Windows.old" folder on your computer. This copy is a safeguard mechanism in case something goes wrong during the installation process. If something bad happens, the operating system can use the backup copy to roll back any change automatically. Or in the case of Windows 10, you also get the option to go back to your previous version of the operating system within the first month if you don't like it.If everything is working as expected after upgrading to Windows 10, you probably don't need these files, as they will just be wasting precious hard drive space. In this Windows 10 guide, we'll walk you through the steps to delete the Windows.old folder and other files that can be taking more than 15GB of storage space on your computer. This tips to delete windows.old folder in windows 10Search for and open the "Free up space." utility.Click Cleanup System Files.Check Previous Windows Installations.Step-by-Step Instructions with Screenshots How To Delete Windows.old Folder In Windows 10

11 GB of MSP (windows installer) Files on Disk?

Alright, I have two hard drives in my machine. One of them is only 20GB, and not surprisingly I have been getting low disk space errors. My question is that when I took a look, it seems that MORE THAN HALF of this disk space is being taken up by the .msp files.

What gives? I have no idea what these are or if I can at least start deleting some of them. It's totally killing my disk! Should I start deleting some of them?

Can I install Windows XP on a Gateway M-6307 laptop?

I am about to buy a laptop. The first thing I'm going to do is remove Vista and install Windows XP Professional. But some of the newest laptops don't have any XP drivers. So, there's a problem... :-/

I like this laptop:
http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2007...

But I went to the Gateway website and looked up the drivers, and I found ONLY ONE WinXP driver. That was for the SATA drive, I think. Does that mean Windows XP won't recognize the modem, WLAN, webcam, etc...?

I found the chipset and graphics drivers here:
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb...

But what about the rest of the stuff?

How do I delete an Operating System if I have installed two Operating Systems on the same partition?

Frankly, I can't see how you'd be able to get two operating systems on one partition on an x86 system. Even back when you could install Ubuntu inside of Windows using "wubi.exe", that wasn't a true two-OSs-on--one-partition setup. So if you can't open up both OSs, but only one, it's because the one you installed second overwrite the one that was installed first. And since Linux's installation software is too 'polite' to overwrite Windows (without your full knowledge and consent), whereas the reverse is absolutely *NOT* the case, Windows will happily overwrite any other OS, including other versions of Windows, it must be that you installed Ubuntu first then Windows.Be that as it may, you should only *have* one operating system, the one you installed second. Problem solved. But not really; you want to remove Ubuntu? I suspect you already did that, assuming that all you can boot is Windows. If all you can boot is Ubuntu, then you have to do this:back up all your data from that partition (see here: A Short Intro to Backing Up (Especially Windows) by John Weintraub on John_Weintraub_How-To_Guide)Either create two partitions, and set up your system for dual-boot orInstall Windows 10 as your main (what’s known as a “host”) OS (operating system) , and then install either Oracle VirtualBox or VMware Player, and install Ubuntu in a Virtual MachineIf you go the VM route, make sure you double or triple the recommended initial memory size, double or triple the size of the VHD or Virtual Hard Disk beyond the recommended, and set the VHD to grow dynamically, NOT statically.I hope this helps. Thanks for the A2A
