How do you delete photos from iCloud?

If I delete photos from my iPad, will they be deleted from iCloud?
It depends how you configured your iCloud account.iCloud Photo LibraryIf you activated "iCloud Photo Library", when you'll delete photos/videos from your iPad, those will be moved to the "Recently deleted" folder.After 30 days, those photos will be automatically (and permanently) deleted from iCloud, which I guess is what you’d like to avoid.If your real problem is the lack of space on your iPad, then I'd suggest to activate "Optimise iPad Storage":Open SettingsPhotos & Camera"Optimise iPad Storage"This will replace some of your pictures and videos with lower resolution versions which take much less space on your device.iCloud BackupIf you did not activate "iCloud Photo Library", but activated iCloud backups, then the space used on iCloud is coming from your backup.The deleted photos/videos from your iPad won't be included in the next iCloud backup, which means that they cannot be restored to a new device.My PhotostreamIf you activated My Photostream, then photos taken in the past 30 days will still be on iCloud’s servers even if you delete them from your iPad.Like with iCloud Photo Library, as soon as those photos are more than 30 days old, they will be removed from iCloud and can’t be downloaded on other devices anymore.Please note that Live Photos and videos are never uploaded to My Photostream.Alternative to iCloudIf you want a solution that allows you to delete photos/videos from your iPad, yet have them backed up and available remotely, then I'd recommend any of the 2 following strategies:1. What does the cloud icon mean in iPhones App Store?
I recently purchased a new phone which was an iphone 5s. I went to download the Facebook app but there was a cloud with a down arrow in it. I pushed this icon and it starting downloading Facebook again. Is this linked to iCloud?? I don't want to use iCloud and have never logged into it. But my brother has it. Does that mean if Facebook is downloaded through iCloud on my phone that it will be downloaded on his and he can go through my Facebook page. We have joint phone accounts. I don't use iCloud as don't want him or anyone else seeing my data on other devices. Please help!
