How To Describe A Town Late At Night

How can i describe the atmosphere late at night?

maybe you would shudder from the Intense excitement of whatever mischief you were upto as the adrenaline coursed through your veins and your heart pounded in your ears like it was going to burst out through your eardrums.
your heavy breathing drying your lips, and the cold air stinging that cavity in your tooth.
the dew glistening on your shoes and soaking into your socks making you wish your parched tongue was as moist as the tongue of your footwear.
more detail is needed really... wat are you upto at that time of night? as if i couldn't guess, given the 'stiff' reference you made. But i wouldn't want to jump to conclusions.

Back in the day (through the mid-1990's), it used to be a late night town.  There were private and public nightclubs where you might even find the future mayor, Willie Brown, on the dance floor next to you.  The king of "three dot journalism," the late Herb Caen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Her..., used to provide after the action reports in his popular column in the San Francisco Chronicle.  During those years (the halcyon days for social warriors), the Fairmont Hotel had an all night fine dining room called the Brasserie where all of the local and visiting social icons would dine on dishes like petite filet mignon and eggs into the wee hours.  You could count on James Bond film director, Guy Hamilton, to be in his usual booth holding court while enjoying a Cuban cigar (you could still smoke). Why did that change? I can only surmise that attitudes toward drinking, drugs, smoking, casual sex, health and fitness changed. By the end, you started to see the less desirable effects of unbridled hedonism within your social circle.

How to describe someone walking home late at night?

I'm sure you've walked home later at night. I'd suggest you use all your senses, and try remembering what that's like.

Is it darker, is it colder? If there are no people walking about, does that make the town feel bigger, or perhaps smaller? Can you hear things that you wouldn't notice during daytime - the sound of the river, your own footsteps.
Is the atmosphere calming, or menacing? Can you see the stars? Are there lights on the shop windows? Are the street lights bright or yellow (or maybe broken completely)? Can you hear a group of teenagers somewhere in the distance, laughing? A few cars? An ambulance? A couple of stray cats fighting? Or is it dead silent?
Does the town seem more beautiful, or just more empty and bleak?

Or is your character so deep in thought that they barely notice what's going on around them?

Describe a quiet city?

empty. dark sky against bright street lights. no stars to be seen due to bright lights. homeless sleeping in doorways and on benches with ragged blankets. echoey. tall empty buildings. waiting. cleaners may be cleaning. drunkards may be trying to make their way home if they remember where it is. occasional young lady with her head down and arms crossed walking very quickly, worried whether there may be people with nasty motives. maybe a lone workaholic may be seen at his desk alone, through his office windows, from the street. The occasional vehicle going past... when they do, you can hear the individual vehicle for a minute or so before it passes, and a minute after it passes, due to its being the only noisy thing around. litter blowing gently past. vast empty spaces, waiting. cold hardness.

i guess this is something for your school or college, so you can write it yourself, I'm sure you can do it better than me anyway, if you believe in yourself it is better than relying on others to do your work for you, and you'll feel more proud of your own ability. But these are a few ideas to get you started.

How do you get downtown in The Sims 3: Late Night?

It's not a Downtown area like in Sims 2, or like the vacation getaways in Sims 3: World Adventures. It's a whole new town by itself called Bridgeport. Yes, there's a bridge...between Bridgeport downtown and Bridgeport suburbia/gated community. So if you have Sims in a town you've been playing in prior to Late Night, the only option is to copy them into the Bin and put them into Bridgeport as a fresh household (though they will retain their current level skills and, maybe?, their jobs).

So to actually play the downtown area, you have to do New Game and choose Bridgeport. Another option is to customize your current town with various nightspots. The celebs, etc. should follow. I haven't tried yet, been playing Bridgeport only so far.

Sims 3 late night how do you become a celebrity if you dont live the late night town?

Place some clubs (at least a dive bar or two) into your non-LN town so they'll have some venues to visit. They receive fame points by buying rounds of drinks, befriending celebrities (which *will* start showing up in non-LN towns), accepting certain LN-specific opportunities which occur more frequently once they have their first star, and by being noticed on the job (especially film career track).
