How do I disable microphone recording in Audacity?
In Audacity, click on Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O tab > and choose something like stereo mix on the recording device dropdown menu. Also, you should disable your microphone: 1. Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound or Start > Control Panel > Sound (if you're using classic view in Control Panel) 2. Click on the Recording tab 3. Make sure that Stereo Mix is enabled. If it's not there: Right click on an empty space > Show Disabled Devices, then right click on Stereo Mix > Enable. 4. Right click on Stereo Mix > Set as Default or something like that if it's not yet set as default. 5. Right click on your Microphone > Disable (to ensure that the sound from mic won't mix up with stereo mix) Hope this helps :)
