How To Disable Second Sign In Verification

How can I disable the 2-Step Verification code for Gmail?

I can’t answer this directly, but Google have a lot of online help around 2-step verification. I’d suggest you start out with Common issues with 2-Step Verification and go on from there.

I set up 2-Step Verification. I don't have access to my phone. How do I get into my Gmail account?

It's quite possible that you can't.Enabling 2 step verification is a great security step, one I consistently and strongly recommend, for anyone with a Google Account.Codes and the mobile phone number are not the only ways to authenticate. There are several other ways, if you set it up properly: 2-Step VerificationBut: if you changed/lost your phone number... and you lost the cellphone that had the Authenticator app on it (or never installed it)... and you did not give Google alternate phone numbers... and you did not use a USB security key... and you never registered any computer to “remember” and log in without a 2nd step... and on top of all this, you also lost your downloaded/or printed codes...sorry, but you’re all done.Game over man.

How do I bypass the two-step verification of my Google Account?

This method requires the google talk application to be installed, with an app specific password used in it (Windows only). I'm reporting it as a bug/flaw, but it could easily be used to sign into an account for those who seem to constantly lose their phones and don't have backup codes ;-)If you have the google talk application installed, simply "right click" on any contact and select "view past chats". You will immediately be taken to your gmail account via your default browser, even if you are SIGNED OUT. From there, you can go to account settings and disable or reconfigure 2 step. This same method also works with the google music manager. Right click the system tray icon, select "go to music player", and that's it. You are logged in. NO 2 STEP CODE REQUIRED.

Security questions: public mobile phone?

Hello Andra,

Second Sign-in Verification only comes into affect if our system detects a log in from an unrecognized device or location. Therefore, you cannot prompt the second sign in to happen and this is not a way to reset your password. In the settings for this feature, you do have the option of setting it to only use your mobile number for verification. *outlined in sources.

However, adding a mobile number to your account also enables the option to recover your account through the Password Helper (https://edit.yahoo.com/forgotroot/). In this case, you will also either be presented with the option to have an SMS code sent to your mobile device or to answer the security questions on file. Please know that there is no way to disable the security question feature.

In regards to your mobile number being public, the full number should not appear in public. When you go through the Password Helper it will ask you to enter the mobile number and will not appear on that page. If you are seeing your mobile number displayed publicly, please take a screenshot of this page and send it to our Customer Care Team for further investigation.

They can be reached at:

Please submit a request on this issue by selecting Yahoo! Accounts as the product, password and sign in as the category, and unable to sign in as the subcategory.

I hope this information helps clarify any misunderstanding!

I can't remember the answer to my security question?

Up until a few days ago, I have been able to sign into my Yahoo! email account fine, but out of nowhere whenever I try to sign in they won't let me in unless I can answer the security questions that I set three years ago and I do not remember the answers... I can't even get passed the first question, "What is Dylan's name". You would think that the answer was Dylan but apparently that's not what I put. Now I constantly get locked out of my account for 12 hours at a time because I keep answering the question wrong.
When I try to sign in I get this message: "You are logging in from a device we don't recognize. Learn why. For your account safety, please answer your security question below."
I'm not even trying to log in from any "different device", it's the same computer that I've been using for years.
I just want to check to see if I got accepted in my college... Why now Yahoo. Just when everyone else started receiving their notification emails, you guys pull this security question stunt on me.
