How To Do These Root Problems

Math problem: Get the root or value of X?

ok so for the first one, you want to first make x/2 into 1x/2 or 1/2x. It should look like this....

1/2x - 2/3

Now do the same to the other side. Make 3x/4 into 3/4x, like this....

3/4x + 1/12

Next, combine like terms, meaning put all x terms on one side of the equal sign and all others on the other side. So, add 2/3 to 1/12 and you should get 3/4. Then subtract 3/4x from 1/2x and you should get -1/4.

1/2x - 2/3 = 3/4x + 1/12
-1/4x = 3/4

Now, divide 3/4 by -1/4. You should get x = -12/4 which simplifies to x = -3.

To check your answer plug the x value (-3) back into the equation.

(-3)/2 - 2/3 = -9/4 + 1/12)

Each sode should equal -13/6......hope that helped!

How to do these trig problems?

"The hypotenuse is y and the smaller leg is x,the longer leg is 8 and the angle is 30 deg."
x = 8/√3 = 8√3/3
y = 2x = 16√3/3

"The hypotenuse is 8 the legs are x and y and the angle is 45 deg."
x = y = 8/√2 = 4√2

Ideas: Use 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 degree special triangle properties.

How do I solve these root problems?

Taking the values of [math]√3 = 1.732,[/math] [math]√5 = 2.236[/math] and [math]√10 = 3.1622[/math]:[math]5 + √3 = 5 + 1.732 = 6.732[/math][math]√3 + √3 = 2*√3 = 2*(1.732) = 3.464[/math][math]5 - √3 = 5 - 1.732 = 3.268[/math][math]√3 - 5 = 1.732 - 5 = -3.268[/math][math]√5 - √5[/math] : A number subtracted from itself gives 0. Thus, [math]√5 - √5 = 0[/math][math]5 * √3 = 5 * 1.732 = 8.66[/math][math]√3 * √3[/math]: This is fairly obvious! This can also be written as [math]\sqrt{3}^2)[/math] which gives us 3.Thus: [math] √3 * √3 = 3[/math][math]\frac{5}{√3} = \frac{5}{1.732} = 2.8868[/math][math]\frac{√3}{5} = \frac{1.732}{5} = 0.3464[/math][math]\frac{√5}{√5}[/math]: This is fairly obvious. This is the division of two identical numbers. That would give you 1.Thus: [math]\frac{√5}{√5} = 1[/math][math]\frac{√5}{√2} = \sqrt{\frac{5}{2}} = \sqrt{2.5} = \sqrt{5*5*0.1} = 5*\sqrt{0.1} = 5*0.31622 = 1.5811[/math]Hope this helps. The questions which are solvable without inserting values, are done that way. I don’t recommend solving your homework problems this way.Thanks for the A2A.

Math problems ASAP?!!!!!!!!!!?

Those problems require a lot of work. To much to show here. If you have a graphing calculator you can type in the equations for the first few problems and go to scnd graph (tables) and just look for the y values that equal zero.

Otherwise good luck.

How Do I Simplify These Square Root Problems?

√378
Pull all perfect square roots out from under the rdical. In this case, remove the 3 because it is a perfect square.
3√42

3√11 + 2√11
Since 3√11 and 2√11 are like terms, add 2√11 to 3√11 to get 5√11
5√11

√6(√30 + 4√10)
Multiply √6 by each term inside the parentheses.
√6 √30 +4 √6 √10
Multiply √6 by √30 to get √(6*30)
√(6*30) + 4 √6 √10
Multiply 6 by 30 to get 180.
√180 + 4 √6 √10
Pull all perfect square roots out from under the radical. In this case, remove the 6 because it is a perfect square.
6√5 +4 √6 √10
Multiply √6 by √10 to get √(6*10)
6√5 +4√(6*10)
Multiply 6 by 10 to get 60
6√5 +4√60
Pull all perfect square roots out from under the radical. In this case, remove the 2 because it is a perfect square.
6√5 +(4 * 2√15 )
Multiply 4 by 2 to get 8
6√5 + (8) √15
Remove the parentheses around the expression 8
6√5 +8 √15

√14/√45 (This one is a fraction)
Combine the radical expression in the numerator and denominator into a single expression
√(14/45)
Split the fraction inside the radical into a separate radical expression in the numerator and the denominator. A fraction of roots is equivalent to a root of the fraction.
√14/√45
Pull all perfect square roots out from under the radical. In this case, remove the 3 because it is a perfect square.
√(14 ) / 3√5
To rationalize the denominator of a fraction, rewrite the fraction so that the new fraction has the same value as the original and has a rational denominator. The factor to multiply by should be an expression that will eliminate the radical in the denominator. In this case, the expression that will eliminate the radical in the denominator is √5 / √5
√(14 ) / 3√5 * √5 / √5
Multiply the original expression by a factor of 1 (√5 / √5 ) to eliminate the radical from the denominator
√(14 ) * √5 / 3 * 5
Simplify the rationalized fraction
√((14)(5) ) / 15
Multiply 14 by 5 to get 70
√((70)) / 15
Remove the parentheses around the expression 70
√70 / 15

Why don't people fix the root of the problems in their life?

Fixing the root of the problem requires the following:admitting that there is a problemworking tirelessly (and potentially opening up old wounds) to find out what the problem isability to find the solutionability to implement the solutionGoing down this list, if we don't admit that there is a problem, there would always be a temporary solution to almost any problem. So - why fix it?Pain associated with discovering the problem (mental, psychological, emotional) is not for everyone; if a person ends up facing the fact that they are an addict or that they are a failure as a parent - only the strongest ones would be able to withstand such a crushing blow to their ego.If a problem, however, is not of their own making, and the person was assaulted or neglected or their life had been tormented by others - it will mean facing those issues; and if the person is not strong enough, they will go back to their old habits, and same problems will persist. If a person is able to see the problem, however they are unable to find a solution - either on their own or not having sufficient support system or not being around a benevolent mentor - then what? There won't be a solution even if the problem is as clear as day.And if the problem is known, and the solution is known, yet it is a difficult step to take - let's say one's mother refuses to bless the union, and refuses to come to the wedding, and will not be a part of her grandchild's life, and otherwise refuses to accept their child's spouse - yet marrying that person is the final choice of that mother's child. Then what? One solution is for that child to leave their fiance, and the other solution is for the child to leave their mother. Which one to take? Yes, it's a personal story of mine. So, life is not just about finding problem and fixing it, it's about re-designing life to fit that new solution. Unless you're offering free psychological sessions for those who need help, you should get off that high horse and join everyone else.
