You can only downgrade if you have shsh blobs for iOS 6 or what ever after version of ios 6 was released.

i have the iPad Mini and i noticed some apps lag and tend to close. I noticed this after i updated it to the initial release of IOS 7. i want to know if someone has update there iPad Mini and if they experience any problems with the software. It depends on the generation of iPod Touch, but in most cases it would be the current version, or whatever is the latest version that the iPod can run. If you stick with an older iOS version, you may find that as time progresses, less apps can run on it because many update their iOS requirements regularly. That being said, even if you don't like the latest version of iOS, once you've updated there's virtually no way to downgrade back to an earlier version (jailbreaking maybe?).The latest version a 6th generation iPod Touch can support is the current (April 2017) iOS 10. 5th Generation iPods can run upto iOS 9, and 4th generations can run upto iOS 6 (my personal favourite).Hope this helps!
