How did Ancient India have so much gold, as there were no gold or diamond mines in India and the history does not suggest any trade between Africa and Asia?

India had gold mines. May be not as big as the ones in the New World and South Africa. The Kolar Gold Field got shutdown only few years ago and they are already planning to re-open them. Now coming to how we accumulated so much Gold please read below. Excerpts from a Hindu article.“With a 5,000 mile coastline, India had adventurous seafaring merchants, who took great risks. A recurring theme in this history was a constant flow of gold and silver into India. The reason was that people in the West hankered after Indian goods — spices, cotton textiles, and jewellery — but Indians were uninterested in Western wares. To balance the books, Western merchants had to pay for the difference in gold and silver.Roman senators complained that their women used too many Indian spices and luxuries, which drained the Roman Empire of precious metal. Pliny the Elder, in 77 CE, called India “the sink of the world's gold!” In the 16th century, Portugal protested that its hard-won silver from South America was being lost to India. The British Parliament echoed this lament in the 17th century and exhorted the East India Company to interest Indians in English goods. It was only in the early 19th century that the bullion flow changed direction when machine-made textiles from England's industrial revolution made Indian handlooms obsolete. Indians had finally found something they wanted from the West.”Edit: Adding little more info since the question got merged. Before the 19th century the only place in the world which had diamond mines was South India, specifically the Krishna and Godavari river basins spread across the present day states of AP & Telangana. Golconda was the hub for anything to do with diamonds. In fact it was so legendary, any rich mine or great source of wealth can be called Golconda (as defined by both Oxford and Merriam dictionaries).

How many people of Karnataka can speak or understand Telugu?

While precise numbers are not of interest here but definitely digging through the historical, geographical scenarios would be of some help here.Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, TelanganaLooking closely, Karnataka shares border with Telugu speaking states pre-dominantly. It is quite a common to find all the bordered regions people picking up languages of both sides. This increases the usage of language for trade, friendship, relations and many more.MigrationsMyself, I come from Kadapa district or Rayalaseema. I find many of my relatives, friends moving to Bangalore for better education, business, jobs. Should admit that, it’s quite near than Hyderabad with more frequency of buses operated by APSRTC and Private operators.MoviesYes definitely, across South India movies are very influential and great time pass. Pretty much many movies are shot at Mysore, Bangalore and other locations of Karnataka. Kannada people also crazy about Telugu movies. They even get more collections, profits for Telugu moviesHistorical ConnectionOne must recollect that the significance of this entire influence is because all these states were rules under Vijayanagara Empire and notably by king Sri Krishna Devaraya.

How do I find someone's phone number online for free?

If you don't have any luck finding the info in one of the major search engines you can then try one or more of the cell phone directories that are starting to appear on the net.Nowadays this site http://www.SomeonesInfo.com is one of the most recommended sites to find cell phone numbers and more information online of anyone. If you want to try finding the number for free then there are a couple of things you can try. The first is to use one of the major search engine portals and see what they might turn up. In today's internet vernacular you will "Google" them and see if they have left some personal information, including their cell phone number, somewhere in cyberspace. While this is not a common occurrence you never know when you may get lucky.Your chances are better using a free directory but not as good as you might think. The big drawback to using this method is the fact that in order to use it you have to give up some personal information including your own cell phone number. This is how they create their databases of cell phone numbers, on a purely volunteer basis. As time goes by the amount of data available will increase but with hundreds of millions of cellular numbers out there it will take some time.

What do kannadigas think about Andhra Pradesh and its people?

Kannadigas have strong opinions on Tamils (Yes, not Tamilians. Proud, very proud, super proud and so on ...), Marathi people (Belagavi, not Belgaum :P), Malayalis ( Nasal, neetworking, and, Oh! So beautiful), North East (Hard working!) and Northies (yes, every other state is considered as North here and the opinion is not good - flashy, noisy, flaunt a lot ...!)But, we, Kannadigas do not have any opinion on Telugu people (Andhra and Telangana). Why ??We feel that there is absolutely no different between Telugu people and Kannadigas !! We see ourselves in them. Language: There is no language barrier at all! Our languages are very similar, thanks to some Sanskrit influence. Our accents are similar, we have almost the same script and the language construct is the same making it very easy for a Telugu guy (for lack of a better word) to learn Kannada and vice versa. A native Kannada or a Telugu speaker can learn the other language within a few months, easily (My friend learnt good Kannada in just 4 weeks here in Bengaluru).Culture:We share a lot of cultural aspects. Our festivals are the same: Ugadi, Sankranti, Navarathri etc. We even share our holy places: Tirupati, Mantralaya, Sringeri etc. This is  maybe because we shared the most awesome dynasties of all time - Vijayanagara empire.Food:Oh! We just love rice (all south Indians in fact). Our Lunch and dinner menus are the same, we just know it by different names. And, we just love pickles (Avakkai, miDi maavinkai anyone?). Non-vegetarian Kannadigas just love Biriyani too! We share the love for coffee too.I personally love the extra spices :DPeople:Most people, especially celebs, you cannot even tell which state they are from: PB Srinivas, S Janaki, SPB, Prakash Raj, Anushka Shetty, Arjun Sarja .... all of them speak both languages impeccably.IIT's: No opinion because Kannadigas are very ignorant about them.Above all, Telugu and Kannada people are the most Silent, decent, adjusting people I have ever seen! Kudos to us :P
