How To Focus In My Study

How do I focus while studying?

Honestly, I really hate studying for exams, I have ADD and find the task very difficult. However you can make It easier on yourself during the semester by summerizing each chapter/ topic in 1-2 pages, it doent have to be really detailed, just point form so it can rmind you of the key topic's/equations.

To study successfully DO NOT do it all at once or for more than 20 -30 mins. What I do that works for me is I set a timer for 10 -15 mins (depending on how much I like the topic/ can concentate on it) and when time is up you make sure you take a 5 - 10 minute break. It works well for me and acyually helps me study for longer then I would be able to just going at it.(I got this tip from a few friends and my counciller)

Also what really helps me to stay focused is to have something l that gets me attention next to me (and not your phone, make sure that is off and DO NOT turn it on until you are done) Like tea, popcorn, and even something as silly as silly putty, it helps me stayfocused at the task at hand.

Also I turn al the lights in house off except for my desk lamp so if I decide to look around to find something to get distracted to doing I can't see anything so I don't get distracted!

Good Luck on exams, don't cram it dosen't work!

I can't focus on studying?

You and I are in the same boat, except in my case it's my finals that I'm failing to study for :/ Print off any notes you need off the computer, then TURN OFF your laptop and put it away so it's not distracting you. Set the alarm on your phone so that it goes off every half hour, reminding you to take a break. Get chewing gum or some food and chew on it while you study, chewing helps you concentrate. As for the music problem, look up study play lists on YouTube (classical music is great too) and listen to them while you study so that you'll have relaxing background music playing in your head, not loud distracting music. If you find your mind wandering, go for a 5 minute walk, have a glass of water or a smoke or whatever, then get back to work. As tempting as it is, go to bed at a reasonable hour and wake up early to study rather than studying into the wee hours of the morning then sleeping in - not only will the former help your body schedule match that of the exam schedule, you'll absorb more information when you're not struggling to stay awake. Just reading material out of a book isn't very efficient for keeping your interest stimulated or for absorbing information, so instead of just reading, take notes or read aloud, then at the end of a chapter do a few questions to make sure you understand the material.

Good luck with your exam! :)

I cant focus on studying! ?

^.^ I have three finals on Wed, Thurs and Fri this week, and here I am on Y! Answers with the same affliction. To be fair, History and Hebrew sound like a world of entertainment. These are interesting subjects (at least compared to what I'm studying --> Finance....=/). A good way to approach your studying is write up a study plan, break down all you need to know into sections so that you can focus on little bits at a time, which is much easier and much less daunting then just approaching History in general as one big lump sum. And, yes, as others have suggested, take regular breaks! It's incredibly important, especially if the subject matter is a little monotonous and onerous. I generally try to study for half an hour, then take a 10-15 minute break to snack, surf the web or do whatever you feel like!

Good luck!

After masturbation can't focus on study?

Masturbation drains your energy. It's pretty much that simple. Obviously, the more robust and healthy you are, the less you'll feel the effects (I am in poor health and I feel the effects very, very keenly).

Can you focus on your studies when you have a flu or a cold?

When you have a cold and you are finding it hard to study, you should just rest. Studying isn't going to do any good if you can't concentrate and if you force yourself to study and stay up, it isn't going to help you get over your cold or flu and you might miss the exam entirely. The best thing to do if you are trying to study for exams while sick is you get enough sleep and drink lots of water and eat healthily and study when you have first gotten up and eaten a good, healthy breakfast. Don't push yourself too hard and study just what you are capable of. Don't try to learn too much, or you will forget what you have already learned.

I think that it is pretty hard for anyone to concentrate on studying when they are sick though.

I can never focus on studying for more than two minutes. Help?

I'm supposed to be studying for my permit but I can't focus, I never can! I've tried so many times to just focus and study for a good long time but less than two minutes later I'm day dreaming again. My thoughts get all jumbled and I get frustrated because I can't make sense of the words on the paper because I can't pay enough attention. I can focus on other things like playing a video game or editing just fine but not studying. I'm a writer and I lose focus when writing a lot, so it makes it really inconvenient.
And I can't control it for more than a minute or two (or five if I'm really lucky.) I know I'm smart enough to learn this stuff, but I just can't make my brain stop racing all over the place and start focusing on my work. I've tried:
-Listening to music (makes it worse usually)
-Relaxing (does nothingggg)
-Taking breaks (I never end up going back to it)
-Taking deep breaths and trying to clear my mind (again, does nothing)
-Studying after I've gotten plenty of sleep (I see no difference between studying well-rested and studying a little sleepy)

What do I do?
Thanks
