How To Fool Your Mom Into Getting You A Nose Piercing

How to pierce your own nose?

I'm a pro at this, I got my nose pierced before all my friends in highschool and therefore became the designated nose piercer for all the ones who could not get permission. I even pierced a kid's nose during gym class once (we were on the sidelines boycotting swimming). The trick for the least pain, cleanest/ safest operation, and the best looking results are as follows:

1. Choose a generally clean, well-lit area to do it in (bathrooms are usually the best)

2. Get a medium sized safety pin (probably about an inch long), a clean towel, an ice cube, rubbing alcohol, and a nose pin (many people start with the screw kind--which I hate_-- but you can also use a straight pin with a small backing or a small hoop ring

3. Use the ice to numb the spot

4. Clean the area on your nose with the alcohol (I hope I don't have to tell you to wash your hands)

*Some people also choose to lightly mark the spot with a felt-tipped pen-- the best spot is just at corner of the crease*

5. Hold the safety pin over a flame for a couple seconds to burn off the germs

6. Pierce the pin into your nose with the point aiming downward NOT sideways into the nose (expect a couple tears as an involuntary reaction)

7. After removing the safety pin immediately put in the nose pin

8. Clean area again

9. Avoid your mom for a while :)

For after-treatment you can use saline spray, they have it at CVS and Rite Aid. Don't use neosporin (spell?). Use the saline twice daily for at least a few weeks and don't change the ring for about a month if you can help it.

Nose piercing, parents very strict?!?

Hi there! (:
Well, I'm 13 and I want my nose pierced maybe when I'm 14 or so. But, the problem is, the other day I brought up the idea of getting my nose pierced when I'm 18 and he FREAKED out! He was like "When you live under my house you live under my rules" But I have never heard why it is so bad or horrible or will make me a bad person.
Because, I am a good kid. Never done drugs, never even kissed anyone, and people at my school...well some my age aren't virgins. So, anywyays. Another reason is that I am in advanced classes. I was in algebra and advanced english in 7th grade and I'm going into 8th with Geometry and most likely advanced English again. I've never done anything for them to not trust me, in fact I'm a really good kid. I think I deserve something that I want. Plus, I'm not doing it to folow the croud, I'm doing it because I think it looks cute and would look cute on me. I got my ears piecred at 6, and to me the nose is only slighty different. I don't understand my parents reasoning for not letting me have my nose pierced. And my parents are older than normal and so they are older fashioned. This is really bugging me, because I am very responsible, mature, and a good kid.
So, parents, what are your reasons to Let or Not let your 14 year old daughter get her nose piecred under these circumstances?
Please just tell me your opinion, and what you did to either convince your parents, or let your child.
Thanks once again (:

How to hide a nose piercing?

If there is nothing wrong with it, why do you have to hide it? Where do you even live that allows minors to get piercings without parental consent?

Should I let my 17 year old daughter get ear piercings?

Single earlobe piercings seem to be the only piercings that nobody judges. They’re seen more as a cultural norm than anything else, and are widely accepted. In fact, I’ve been slammed before for using makeup to alter my appearance, but nobody’s ever had an issue with the fact that I have my ears pierced. Kind of crazy to think about, since makeup washes off!If you’re worried about issues of professionalism, I totally respect that. That’s one of the reasons I was always told growing up that I’m not allowed to get tattoos or any more piercings. However, single lobe piercings won’t bother employers, if they even notice them at all. These piercings won’t hinder your daughter’s job prospects.I also understand if you’re worried that your daughter will be permanently altering, maybe even marring, her appearance. Don’t worry—earlobe piercings heal pretty nicely if you take the earrings out. My mom had her second holes done when she was younger, and she took them out eventually. In 21 years, I have never once noticed any scarring on her ears from the old piercings.I decided I wanted my ears pierced when I was 8, and my mom told me I had to wait until I was older. I ended up getting them done right before I turned 13. It’s a big decision to make, and everyone is different, but I’ve never once regretted it. I think earrings are beautiful and I love being able to wear them. One more thing: I recommend taking your daughter to a professional piercer. They’ll use clean, sterile needles and not piercing guns. I had two inexperienced teenaged girls wielding piercing guns do my earlobes: they counted down, and on three, one girl said, “wait!” and walked away to go ring up a customer. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the other girl had pulled the trigger halfway already, and just waited for her coworker instead of finishing the piercing. I ended up fainting from shock. It was a mess. The guns work by using blunt force trauma, so needles are a much better choice. My earlobes were infected on and off for almost six years and only calmed down for good once I turned 18.

Possible to hide Septum piercing from dentist?

I had just gotten my septum pierced yesterday, and I have to hide it from my parents by flipping it up inside my nose. The problem is, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow to tighten my braces, and I have feeling that even if I flip it up, he will still be able to tell that I have it. My mom is going to be in the room with me, not to mention, and if he sees it he will DEFINITELY tell my mom about it. (We have been going to him all my life, and he is a good friend of the family.) I will also have to hide it from him every month until I get me braces off.

Do you guys think he won't be able to tell I have it, or should I just remove it at this point? I have already looked into getting a clear retainer, but it is pretty much out of the question.

And, for those who are wondering, I am 14, and had my 21 year old brother sign as a legal guardian at the piercing shop... So it isn't like I am 18 and can do whatever I want at this point.

Thanks for any help in advance!

How do I convince my parents to let me pierce my nose?

I'm 13, which I know is very young, but I know what I want. I've actually wanted one since I was about 10, I just never asked for one because I realized that's just too young. Anyway, my mother won't let me pierce my nose. I just want a small, cute stud. Also, doing chores and improving my grades and all that isn't going t work on her, she thinks that people with nose piercings are trashy (sometimes they are) but I wouldn't be. How do I let her know that I'm not going to be some trashy scene kid? I would pay for it, I know all about the infections and what to do for them, all that, but she just seriously hates the way they look. I don't want to rebel against her, I seriously want her to like it. But in the end, it is my nose, not hers. I'm just not sure how to let her know not EVERYONE with a nose piercing is a slut. Any ideas?

Can my 18 year old boyfriend or friend take me to get a piercing?

only if the tattoo artist/piercer is stupid ... he/she can get into some serious trouble
for peircing or tattooing a minor with out parents permission , cause parents can take him/her to court
No he/she wont permit it unless your just getting a normal ear piercing.
you have to take a parent with you , unless you have a much older friend that looks 40 to take you then i doubt you will be able to trick them into believing that person is your mom or dad...

befriending a tattoo artist/piercer might make your parents think that what he does for a living isnt so bad and maybe your new friend could talk to your parents about it and open there minds to the idea..then maybe your parents will allow it and go with you to get it done ... or you could simply ask your parents nicely for it

but i once got 2 ear piercings on each ear lobe when i was 16 with my sister i lived in canada at the time .. also a couple of my friends when they went on a school trip to Quebec they came home with belly button rings .. i have no idea how they got it done :s i bet the place was dingy ..
