Open a terminal ( root)Type command gpartedA graphical window will open, now select the disk as /dev/sdb or /dev/sdc from top right corner ( it completely depends on how many pendrives you have got inserted and which one is correct)Delete the Partition ( by right click->delete)Create a new Partition taking type- FAT32 ( Primary )Apply all changes.(This is the most common method to use, but it erases all disk data)Secondly, if you have windows, you can di it without formatting either if its not potentially infected by a virus.Hit win+RType cmdEnterType diskpartAllow permissionsType list diskEnterSelect disk 1 (depends on the slot and how many are inserted, so check) [usually disk 0 is hdd/ssd]Type Attrib disk clear readonlyEnterYour work is done.Regards,

Convert .ISO to .IMG in terminal (Mac) (Linux) 10 points?

I am trying to make a bootable flash drive with Linux on it for my Mac. I have Ubuntu desktop downloaded, and it is in my downloads. The instructions on the Ubuntu website tell me I need to convert the ISO to IMG (of course, because its a Mac, and I cannot boot otherwise, so converting is necessary). This is the terminal command they tell me to run:

hdiutil convert -format UDRW -o ~/path/to/target.img ~/path/to/ubuntu.iso

I understand I need to replace both paths, and I know I need to change the ubuntu.iso path to the file located in my downloads, but what path do I put in the place of ~/path/to/target.img? Can someone give a specific example? I tried putting ~/Users/Gurpreet/Desktop/target.img, but it says no such file or directory. I understand that there is not a file named target.img on my desktop. What path do I use? Specific example and help will get 10 points.

I recently purchased a 64gb SanDisk Cruzer USB Flash Drive. I purchased the drive to use exclusively with a digital picture frame. The digital picture frame apparently does not recognize this drive since it came pre-formatted exFat. The digital picture frame does recognize my other smaller USB Flash Drives which are formatted Fat32.My question is: Is it possible to reformat this new 64gb USB Flash Drive to Fat32 (or make some other change) so that I may use it with my digital picture frame? If so, what is the best way to go about doing this as it does not seem to be an option via right clicking on the drive and selecting format, or via My Computer/Manage/Disk Management?

Delete Your Linux PartitionsPress WIN+R, then paste diskmgmt.msc this will open Disk Management application.Locate the Linux partitions, right-click them, and delete them. Linux partition has no label under the “File System” column, while Windows partitions will be identified by their “NTFS” or "FAT" file system. After you deleted Linux partition, Free space will be available. You can expanding your current partition or create new partition from it.After you delete Linux partition and recover Linux space in windows, It is time to fix grub menu.now Fix the Windows Boot LoaderInsert the Windows installer or recovery disc into your computer and restart your computer. You’ll need to access the Command Prompt from the disc.click on repair option from Windows CD, this will open Command Prompt.Once a Command Prompt window is open, type the following command and press Enter to run it:bootrec.exe /fixmbrYou can now restart your computer. It will boot from its hard drive, starting Windows normally. Now Linux complately removed from your system.

I agree with Navneet, this is not the place for such a questionand even if it was, with so little details we can't helpwhat is the output of: sudo fdisk -lit should show the usb, (/dev/sda is your hard disk) if you see a /dev/sdb or /dev/sdc it recognize your usb

There are multiple software found in web for fixing this problem but i recommend to use USB Fix for this tutorial because it works great and freeware.Download USB fix and install (If your antivirus showing virus in this software then please disable it for a few minutes)Close all the programs from taskbar, you are running, because when it start it auto close your all programs and you may lose your data.Connect all of your external storages to computer > Choose clean :)It automatically cleans your shortcut virus problems from all USB storages. NOTE: don’t forget to restart your computer after using this tool because it make changes in windows directory and until you restart your computer, your computer will not work properly.
