What are some tips for 16 year olds getting a job for the first time?

Apply in person, not online. Sure, online applications are super easy, and you’ll feel like you’re getting loads done by submitting your resume to every online opening you can find, but you’re not nearly as likely to get hired as you would be if you went in in person. Going to a potential workplace in person shows initiative, and gives the employer a much better gauge of you as a potential employee from a personal visit than they do from an impersonal online application.Of course, if you’re going to apply in person, dress well, and make sure you’re nicely groomed. You want your first impression to be a good one.

Just got hired at this landscaping job. anyone have any tips on how i can be a great landscaper?

I've been in landscaping and lawn care for many years. One thing I've learned is that you'll never work fast enough no matter how hard you work and you'll probably never feel you get paid enough. If you have bosses like I've had haha. But I love the outdoors and what I do. So if you love what you do, then you'll do great. Research stuff yourself. I'm also in lawn care, so I've informed myself on all the tools over the years. And no matter how much you know about this field, you'll always learn more.

What are some tips you would suggest for a 16-year-old to get cooler and to develop a personality in the summer?

Hi,I used to struggle with this goal all the time until I didn’t care. My advice would be just to get a nice worked out body in the summer, stay yourself, don’t pretend and act upon your true feelings.9/10 people from your class you won’t see back or even talk to when you go to college or to University. To be cool? People called me cool, but I never realized that people liked that. I just socialized with people, bonding with people helps you bond with others and others over again. Conclusion: Stay yourself, stay healthy and socialize with others don’t be afraid to ask.

First Job interview, I'm 16, It's a Surf Shop, - any tips/advice?

Here are a few suggestions.

1) Dress smart casual - as if you were going out to dinner with your parents - not a suit as it is surfing. Have a peek in the shop and see how the staff are dressed then go up one level of smartness.

2) Learn a bit about the company and about surfing.

3) Be on time, confident and happy.

4) Answer all the questions they ask truthfully - at your age you don't need to know everything - just show a willingness to learn.

5) Have a couple of questions prepared to ask them about the job - not the salary!

Good luck
